This is one of the nicest examples of it's kind available anywhere. As you know if you follow our auctions, we sell only the best of the best, and this is no exception. This is a beautiful, southern, Virginia car that is absolutely as nice underneath as it is on top. It is finished in Formal Black Clearcoat, one of the most highly sought after and hard to find colors available on the Crown Victoria with the Street Appearance Package. If you are searching for the ultimate Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, here you go...

You are viewing a very low-mileage, extremely low idle hours, always unmarked, loaded 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with, as mentioned, the coveted Street Appearance Package. It just came out of service with the United States Federal Government, in Virginia, where it was assigned to one agent for it's entire life...and with only 64,586 actual, documented miles on it. This is a beautiful example of a very rare, hard to find car in the most "in-demand" color.

The finish is excellent and this vehicle has an absolutely spotless Carfax and AutoCheck report. It has never been involved in any accidents. It is in excellent condition in every regard.

This unit has never had decals or a light bar installed. It has never been in regular police service.

This unit is loaded with options, including all of the things you would expect..."Comfort Convenience Group", power adjustable pedals, power heated mirrors, power windows, power locks, power trunk release, factory auxiliary police dome lamp, factory AM/FM/CD stereo, driver and passenger side airbags, cruise control, cloth front bucket seats and matching cloth rear seat, full factory carpeting w/ factory carpeted floor mats and a 3.27 ratio rear differential w/Traction-Lok (limited-slip) rear differential (code X5) and electronic traction control (it is very rare to find BOTH of these options on the same car). These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car.

In my years of buying and selling police vehicles, I have had very few cars that come close to the condition of these units, they are extremely well maintained, actually over-maintained, and typically need no repairs. This was a one-driver car, assigned to one federal agent throughout the entire life of the car. For those of you who know, that makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to how the cars are maintained and treated. It has NEVER been smoked in, looks as close to new as you will find and has very little of the wear and tear you would typically expect to find, even on the seating. The rear seat appears to have never been used.

It is finished in the factory Formal Black Clearcoat finish with Dark Charcoal (Black) interior. This is one of the most beautiful color combinations available on a Crown Victoria. With only 64,586 actual, original miles on it, the exterior is beautiful and, as stated, the interior is excellent. It has been extremely well-maintained and it runs, drives and handles as close to new as you will ever find. It has never been abused and it looks gorgeous inside, outside and underneath.

The trunk compartment is like new, extremely clean, and the original, full size spare tire is in place.

This unit is also equipped with, of course, the full "Police Interceptor" package which includes the 4.6-liter H.O. engine, 4-speed overdrive heavy-duty transmission, 3.27 ratio rear axle w/ Traction-Lok differential, noise suppression bond straps, Good Year Eagle RS-A 235-55-17 police-spec, ultra-high performance radials mounted on the factory, heavy-duty, 17" vented police wheels with full, factory deluxe wheel covers, stainless-steel dual exhaust with factory crossover pipe, police-only lightweight balanced aluminum driveshaft, special police-spec heavy-duty frame, 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty suspension, heavy-duty cooling, lamp pre-wire group, 2-way radio pre-wire, certified 140-mph speedometer, tachometer, idle hour meter and much, much more.

For those of you who know Crown Victorias, you are probably already aware that the 2004-2011 models are the years to have...2004 was the first year for the higher-horsepower engine.

All Crown Victorias produced from 2004-onward utilized the new, improved, 250-horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine and are the fastest Crown Victorias produced due to many changes that were made, mainly in the intake system. Previously, the Police Interceptor produced 239 horsepower, but the 2004-newer Police Interceptor increased that number to 250 horsepower due to the addition of a new "Marauder" air intake setup. This included a new airbox that resembles the Mercury Marauder airbox (raised airbox lid, deeper bottom), with a new, larger, integrated 80 mm (3.1 in) mass airflow (MAF) sensor that is part of the airbox lid. This allows for much more precise flow calibration and reduces the chances of air leakage. The P71 zip tube (the flexible rubber hose between the throttle body and MAF outlet) is also used to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) as well as transfer air from the airbox to the throttle body with minimal flow resistance.

In addition, 2008 was the first year that the Crown Victorias became "flex fuel capable", meaning they will run on either regular gasoline or E85 ethanol blend. The advantage of this is a much improved fuel system with premium quality lines, fittings and seals that will outlast the traditional fuel systems by many years...a big improvement over earlier models.

Crown Victorias like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest you will find in a rare and desirable color combination with low mileage and low idle hours.

This unit is gorgeous inside and out and is clean under the hood as well...the engine compartment is very nice (please see the pictures). I do not slather motors with Armor All to make them appear nicer, or newer, than they are. The picture of this engine compartment is exactly as it was when the car was purchased...extremely clean.

These are the Crown Victorias aficionados lust after, and this is an unmolested example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast.

This is a factory, all Formal Black car, not a re-painted color change like you will see for sale elsewhere.

This unit is in absolutely gorgeous condition overall condition, has been very well-maintained and has very little of the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a used police vehicle. This vehicle, as most used police vehicles do, may have imperfections...this typically includes; scratches, chips, nicks, minute small dings, holes from equipment, etc....that being said, this car has no known mechanical defects and it runs and drives as close to new as we have ever seen. Please, keep in mind, we strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible, but they are still used vehicles.

This is a very nice driving, tight unit...not a beat-up police car. It has never been used for any type of normal police or patrol work.

DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP, 2011 MODELS ARE VERY, VERY HARD TO FIND AND I DOUBT YOU WILL SEE ANOTHER FOR SALE IN THE NEAR FUTURE WITH THIS LOW OF MILEAGE AND HOURS, AND IN THIS CONDITION, IF AT ALL.

This 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, providing the low reserve is met. Please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction, you own the vehicle.

Because of increasing expenses in every regard, we have been forced to raise our fees by $50, this is the first time in ten years that we have done this, so hopefully you will understand. There will be a $175 documentation fee and a $15 title fee added to each sale, these will be the ONLY additional fees you will be responsible for, unless you reside in the state of Ohio, in which case you will need to pay the proper amount of sales tax, based on the current rate for the county in which you reside. Temporary 30-day plate and registration is also available for $18.50. We do not charge any additional fees and there are no hidden charges. Most sellers are charging double this amount currently.

I welcome any and all questions you might have prior to bidding on this Crown Victoria. I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally prior to the end of auction (please call if you like).

I am a law-enforcement officer as well and as such, work long hours so you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the end of the auction.

Winning bidder agrees to forward a 25% partial payment (unless a lesser amount is agreed upon PRIOR to the end of the auction) at end of auction via direct bank wire transfer or by overnighted cashier's check, money order or certified funds. Balance will be due within seven days of end of auction or at time of pick up or delivery, whichever comes first. I will help in any way possible to arrange transportation. I can store the vehicle for up to 90 days, until pick up can be arranged, as long as it's paid for in full.

I may be able to deliver this vehicle personally, depending on your location, at a reduced rate.

I have been buying, selling and driving unique, specialty vehicles for over ten years now and take pride in offering only low-mileage vehicles that are not "run of the mill", beat-up cars and trucks. I specialize in the hard to obtain cars, SUV's and trucks, Dodge Hemi Charger, Ram 5.9 Cummins and Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel trucks, Chevrolet Impala and Caprice 9C1 and 9C3 police vehicles, collectible and rare cars, trucks and vans. If there are any questions at all, again, please don't hesitate to call me at (614) 893-3857. I will answer all e-mails as quickly as possible. Thanks and good luck!

Because of people who bid and do not contact me or pay, I am being forced to implicate a rule pertaining to low-feedback bidders. ANY BIDDER WHO BIDS, WITH A FEEDBACK OF 5 OR LESS, WILL HAVE THEIR BID RETRACTED IMMEDIATELY unless they contact me first, prior to bidding. I hope everyone understands, and I thank our hundreds of happy customers, but a few bad apples have spoiled the proverbial bunch. Thanks for understanding.

Please remember, this is a used government vehicle and, although it is as close to it as possible, it is not new. It is, however, the last of it's kind and in excellent condition. As such, it will have minute flaws consistent with the miles and age of the vehicle, and with government use. That being said, it is in beautiful shape and runs & looks excellent. It is not what you would typically expect, or what you will find elsewhere for sale. Please, if you want to come and look at it, do so BEFORE bidding...or call me, as always, at 614-893-3857 or e-mail me and I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks!

Hurricane Sandy cost automakers 15,000 vehicles, may have ruined up to 200k

Wed, 07 Nov 2012

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened.
Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200.
As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.

Alan Mulally talks about why Ford's Falcon had to die

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

When Ford made the decision to end production of the Falcon sedan and Territory CUV in Australia, it wasn't a popular move Down Under. The large, four-door Falcon had been in production for 50 years, and while Ford has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market, it's understandable that some people still aren't all that crazy about the Blue Oval's decision.
Speaking to CEO Alan Mulally after Ford's Go Further event in Sydney, Australian site Go Auto reports that the decision was not one made lightly, and that the automaker is doing everything possible to respect the Falcon and Territory's "stakeholders." It's an interesting piece that shows a softer side of a corporation, while demonstrating that Ford is doing everything in its power to make the end of production as smooth as possible for all parties.
Head over to Go Auto for the full series of remarks from Mulally, and then let us know what you think of Ford's handling of the Falcon and Territory discontinuations, in Comments.

China takes lead as GM's No. 1 market

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

It's happened. General Motors' biggest vehicle market - at least in terms of new model sales - is China. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, GM and its various Chinese joint venture operations enjoyed a 10.6-percent sales increase in the first half of 2013, selling almost 1.6 million units in the market. That puts GM China about 200,000 units ahead of its US sales totals over the same period - this, despite indicators that the communist nation's economy is losing momentum.
TDB notes that like GM, rival Ford has also enjoyed a robust 2013 in China thus far, with its sales up a whopping 47 percent to 407,721 units sold - 75,254 of them in June alone. Between the two US automakers, passenger car sales for the first half of 2013 are up around 14 percent, well ahead of the rest of the industry's 10-percent growth estimates for the market. Some of the sales growth may come as a result of an overall anti-Japan sentiment in China, though the American brands have long outsold their Japanese counterparts in the country.
By The General's own predictions, China will only continue to grow in sales importance. The company has designs on selling over five million cars a year in the market before the end of the decade, a total that figures to dramatically widen the gap versus its US totals - even if America's auto market makes a full recovery to the the salad days of over 17-million units a year.
