2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Sedan 4-door 4.6l Cheap!!!!!!!! on 2040-cars
Corry, Pennsylvania, United States
Offered for auction is a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. This is a fresh new car trade in. This is just the way it was traded in. It has not been cleaned, buffed or detailed. It has scratches on the hood & trunk and has miscellaneous minor nicks, dings, scratches if you really look hard. Many of these should go away with a good buff job. The front lower bumper on the right side has a crack. The roof has holes where the lights were removed. I was told you can buy plugs for the roof. On the drivers side floor, the vinyl has a hole (see photos), more likely where the driver rested their foot. The left rear power window does not go down (possibly frozen). Please see photos for flaws. This vehicle is equipped with Good Year Eagle Tires, which are in good shape. The Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is built like a tank everything is extra heavy duty. Years ago, I sold these to taxi companies with 300,000+ miles that are still going strong today. This vehicle runs and drives excellent and is ready to go to work. Own it for a fraction of replacement cost. This vehicle is priced to sell quickly. To avoid disappointment and future regret, BUY IT NOW for $3,999. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. We welcome your mechanics inspection. Any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email. There is a $150.00 documentation fee to cover administrative costs. New York State buyers are responsible for all state inspection costs and state sales tax. Out of state buyers are exempt. Vehicle is sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
Ford, GM to collaborate on 9- and 10-speed transmissions
Mon, 15 Apr 2013Back in October, there were reports that General Motors and Ford Motor Company were hard at work co-developing new nine- and ten-speed automatic transmissions, and now both automakers have confirmed this joint operation. While there are no specific vehicles mentioned to receive either transmission, a collaborative press release issued by GM and Ford mention that the transmission will be designed for front- and rear-wheel-drive cars, crossovers, trucks and SUVs.
These aren't the first powertrain components developed jointly between these cross-town rivals, either. The six-speed automatic currently used in vehicles like the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Equinox was engineered in a similar fashion. As is the case with this existing transmission, both automakers will assist in the design, development and testing of the new transmissions, but each will build its own units in its own factories. Scroll down for the official press release.
Ford to add Android Auto and CarPlay to 2016 SYNC 3 cars via update
Fri, May 19 2017Ford is updating a large number of 2016 model year cars equipped with SYNC 3 infotainment software, adding Android Auto and CarPlay to the vehicles with a free, over-the-air update via Wi-Fi, or using either USB or going through their dealer. The upgrade will be available for around 800,000 vehicles in total, giving a huge number of Ford car owners the chance to get big infotainment improvements without having to buy a newer model car. The OTA update option is also a big step for Ford – it's the company's first for software ever, and it's one of the major reasons that Ford recently hired around 400 new mobile smartphone engineers, the company tells me. For CarPlay, users will still also need to upgrade their vehicle's USB hub to make this work (which will also incur a dealer visit and a cost), but for those on Android, all that's required is a simple software installation. The USB install method is also faster, but the Wi-Fi update option is the start of the company's efforts to really increase its OTA update program, which will be used for security improvements as well as infotainment bumps. Even with a dealer visit and hardware upgrade for CarPlay, this sounds like a worthwhile thing for 2016 vehicle owners to do. CarPlay and Android Auto are huge upgrades vs. most in-car software, offering navigation and entertainment options that follow you from your phone to your car. Retroactively offering this kind of thing to car owners is a definite change in tone for carmakers, since they typically use these kinds of things as incentives to get people interested in vehicle model updates. But as data becomes increasingly important to automakers as a business, it makes sense to encourage greater in-car use of devices.Written by Darrell Etherington for TechCrunchRelated Video: Auto News Ford Lincoln Technology Infotainment android
