2007 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor W/street Appearance Package on 2040-cars
Cortland, Ohio, United States
Up for sale is this clean and strong 2007 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor. This unit was assigned to one supervisor Law Enforcement Agent working w/the Drug Enforcement Government Agency. It ONLY has 107K miles with just over 1900 Idling Hours. These are low hours below average since your average retired P71 comes with 5000 to 6000 ideling hours and I have seen them with as high as 14000 idling hours and the engine and tranny still running great and strong. The P71 is a legendary vehicle built to last and with proper on time maintenance it will last its civilian owner/family for many years. The engine in this unit runs very smooth, and very strong. You have to see it and test drive it in order to understand how nice and clean this unit really is. It comes with the highly desirable Street Appearance Package along with great factory Executive/Coach Cloth Seats that you don't usually see in Police Interceptors. The seats are in super clean shape with no rips, stains, or any odors of any kind. The back seat is very clean as if it was never even used. It also comes with black factory carpet with only few small signs of wear and tear on the driver side. By no means, this is a reliable Police Interceptor that is very responsive, strong, and super fast. Mechanically speaking, this is in great shape and absolutely needs nothing. This car has been really taken care of during its service. The AC blows very cold as it should and the heat works great. Every factory option in this car works as it should. Just inspected and ready for sale. Windows are clean with no cracks. The body is rust free. It is super clean underneath. Only minor scratches. The paint shines great. The tires have lots of tread. Only one tire in the front needs balanced and causes a very minor vibration. Other than that this car is ready to go. I urge Ebay members with ZERO feedback to contact me before placing their bids or I will be forced to cancel their bids automatically. Please feel free to contact me for any further information or questions through my email or by phone at 773-255-9856. If you do call me and I do not answer, make sure that you leave me a message and I promise to call you back immediately. I have been selling P71s for two decades now. I religiously cherry pick each of my P71s. This unit is no exception. It is very clean, strong, and fast. Low idling hours makes a big difference with these units. It needs nothing and it will serve you and your family for many years to come. Here are the list of the good things about this car and the reasons for you to buy and own this vehicle: - It has factory Street Appearance Package, factory of carpet floor, and the infamous Executive/Coach Luxury Cloth Seats front and back. These seats very comfortable if compared to the normal stiff police bucket seats. - It is in great mechanical shape, extremely reliable, strong, fun to drive, and super fast. - It is becoming very hard to find P71s like this one in a very clean condition. - It has very low idling hours exactly 1908 hours. - This car is RUST FREE!!!!! Clean inside and out. - No body damage what so ever, it is solid with no rattles or loud noises from the frame nor from the suspension as you drive at any speeds. - The exterior color ,Silver, is very nice and highly desirable. It shines as new w/only minor scratches. - The engine and tranny are uniquely responsive and super fast. Very strong. - No leaks of any kind. - Windows are clean with no cracks. - All factory options are in great working order. They all function accordingly. - This car really hugs the road while driving around corners and during high speeds and provide you with a great sense of safety and security knowing that it is a full size sedan that is specifically built tuff like a tank intended to withstand so much abuse. - Finally, the last reason to buy this vehicle is because despite the fact that it runs using the legendary big and strong 4.6Lt engine, with a heavy duty frame being full size sedan, and the heavy duty transmission and being a very fast car intended for high speed police pursuits, it manages to get great gas mileage. This unit here gets approx. 18/City, and 22-24HWY mileage. The new owner has the ability to actually purchase a computer chip high performance programmer for this P71. The owner could in just few minutes reprogram the tranny and engine to higher performance options immediately releasing over 45HPs making it from 271HP to 310HP. The programmer will also improve the gas mileage and performance of this P71. There are a lots of options that you could do with the P71s that really blows your mind. You may contact me for any questions or information. You could email through Ebay or call me at 773-255-9856 ask for Neil. This P71 is listed locally and I reserve the right to terminate this auction at any early time. Thank you so much for your time and interest. |

Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout
Tue, Nov 25 2014Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT. 2015 Fisker-Galpin Rocket Quick Spin [w/video]
Fri, Aug 21 2015There is no shortage of fast Mustangs these days. Roush and Saleen will tune your ordinary 'Stang into something really special. Ford itself offers hot coupes like the new Shelby GT350. Don't even get me started on the endless aftermarket catalogs full of bolt-on whats-its and performance upgrades. Standing out within the huge crowd of tuned Mustangs is hard to do. But you'll definitely notice this one. "I always wanted to do a Mustang," Henrik Fisker told me as we walked toward his latest creation, the Rocket, parked outside the Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA. The man knows a thing or two about design, after all. He penned the BMW Z8, as well as the Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage. But this Rocket is, well, ugly. The rear end isn't totally terrible, and those 21-inch wheels are sort of cool, but taken as a whole, it looks like it swallowed something it doesn't like the taste of. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder – or perhaps, the creator – so we'll let Mr. Fisker explain why the car looks the way it does. See the video below for his brief design walkaround. If you can get past the looks, there's a world of performance to unleash, thanks to the boys at Galpin Auto Sports – the same folks responsible for the GTR1 I drove last year. The Mustang's 5.0-liter V8 gets a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger that improves output to 725 horsepower (the torque figure isn't available), and the car's suspension has been thoroughly reworked to help put all that grunt to the ground. It's very good, yet very familiar. Let me explain. Driving Notes Like the stock Mustang, it's really easy to drive. The car fires up with a growl, you move the shifter into first gear, and the action of engagement is as solid as it is in the normal 5.0-liter car. Both the clutch and throttle have a progressive action, so it's super easy to launch the Rocket (sorry). Once you get going, there's a ton of power to unleash. It doesn't smack you in the face right up front, though – the power delivery is smooth and linear. Easy to manage, too, thanks to that slick six-speed manual transmission. Credit Ford (and Getrag) for making a manual that's able to handle so much extra grunt. That said, the Rocket feels like your typical fast Mustang. It goes like hell in a straight line and there isn't a ton of steering feel. Galpin retuned the electronic power-assisted steering, but it's still too light considering the added power of the car.
Ford hit by lawsuit over hybrid technology from, surprise, Paice
Fri, Feb 28 2014The name Paice will be familiar to anyone who's been deep in the weeds of hybrid history, but it will probably be new to anyone who simply drives one. The key part of the story is something called "HyperDrive," which is the name given to a gas-electric powertrain technology developed by Alex Severinsky and patented in 1994. HyperDrive is a way to get the energy from both the electric battery and the engine into the wheels, seamlessly. The patents are held by Paice, which is an unusual company (its HQ is a house in a retirement community, right by a golf course) that does nothing but litigate. You can read more on Paice here. The latest case targets Ford and the hybrid and plug-in versions of the C-Max and Fusion models as well as the Lincoln MKZ. Paice claims that it held "over 100 meetings and interactions with Ford" between 1999 and 2004, and gave the automaker, "detailed information about the hybrid technology that Paice had developed." The suit also alleges that: For more than five years, Paice answered inquiries from multiple departments within Ford, believing in good faith that a business relationship between Paice and Ford would be mutually beneficial and advance the acceptance of Paice's technology. ... After years of Ford learning the details of Paice's hybrid drivetrain technology, Ford elected not to enter into a business relationship with Paice. The suit is officially known as, "Paice LLC v. The Ford Motor Co., 14-492, U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (Baltimore)" and you can read the PDF here. Ford told AutoblogGreen, "we do not comment on pending litigation." Toyota settled a similar patent-infringement case in 2010 and now pays Paice almost $100 for every hybrid it sells. Paice is still in court against Hyundai and Kia. In 2010, Ford also settled with Paice but they agreed to keep negotiating on other issues until at least January 1, 2014. With that date now in the past, it didn't take long for Paice to file papers to get the two sides back before a judge. That's where it appears to be most comfortable.
