2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
San Jose, California, United States
This is a formerly fully marked Northern California Police Package (P71) Ford Crown Victoria. Anyone that knows anything about police package vehicles knows that from the ground up these are built better than just about anything ever put on the road. From the suspension, to the wheels, to brakes, rear end, transmission, seats, flooring, electrical system, cooling system, to the hoses themselves - there is nothing ordinary about a police package vehicle. Besides what other vehicle can reach approximately 500,000+ miles if taken care of?
This particular vehicle is in amazing condition with very excellent and responsive steering, suspension, transmission and engine performance. It runs, drives, idles, handles, accelerates, and shifts superbly. The rear seat is BRAND NEW and never even been sat in ever and the original rubber floor is even in great condition with no tears at all. The town that sold this vehicle is an upscale community of high level residents and very low crime. The fleet vehicles that are used by this town are well taken care of and sold in great condition. This town even puts stickers on the dash that read 'No Overdrive in Town' to properly take care of the OD transmissions in their cars. They don't even allow door dings to remain on their fleet. The body and undercarriage are in great condition. The lumbar support button on the driver's seat works well. What caught my eye is even the wheels, headlights and even engine look 'like new'. The tires and brakes are good. I changed fluids and put in a brand new mass air flow sensor and new high output battery if the buyer wishes or needs to hook up emergency equipment. The white paint is the only thing slightly worn on top from being a 2006 marked black and white unit. Strangely enough the paint still 'beads' as if it was waxed! The cage and emergency equipment have been removed. The AC only needs charged as no leaks were found. Both spotlights still attached work well. There is no radio of any kind or rear seat belts, as there was a plastic rear seat removed- why there is now a spare brand new rear seat installed. Any additional items such as these can easily be pulled from any wrecking yard as many of these cars are available for such parts in any town. I just did not get the chance with a heavy work schedule and too many vehicles. I can emphatically state this a VERY good to excellent condition vehicle with first-hand personal knowledge. I am what you can call an 'expert' in this realm of cars , as I have driven police vehicles from when they were brand new 'on the job' to several individual models over 30 years old and over 300K miles on the clock. I personally started driving new police vehicles on the job with the first Chevrolet Caprice car - the 1986 model up until very recent Ford model years. I am personally an enthusiast who buys, restores, and collects older police vehicles. I have a massive collection that started with a 1981 year model. I always buy very good condition vehicles and do not sell very often. I happen to have far too many vehicles in my current collection and must start selling as I am running out of storage room. Being a Chevrolet and 9C1 fan first means I must sell some of my Fords, (even if they are much newer and tighter). Besides, after 1996 year model- the Ford Crown Vic held the Police Car Crown. Ford finally made the Crown Vic a really good car the last 8 or so years of its run. After driving probably hundreds of police cars for many, many years, I have yet to drive a Crown Vic that wasn't brand new that runs as nice and as tight as this 101K mile car. Additional pictures available upon request as I could only upload so many here. There was once a time when Police Package Monacos, Furys, Impalas and Caprices were everywhere....Get a piece of history before these P71s are all abused, destroyed, crushed and gone. |

Meet Shelby Mustang GT500 Miller, Iowa's latest hatchet-wielding criminal
Fri, Jul 11 2014Well, we've found the long-lost cousin of yesterday's Bentley-tattooed criminal from Florida. This is Shelby Mustang GT500 Miller. No, seriously. While his name seems just like the sort of thing we'd expect the Sunshine State to produce, he actually hails from Iowa. Despite coming from the Hawkeye State, Miller was arrested for a decidedly Floridian offense – getting in a bar fight and then returning with a hatchet. The only way this story could be more Florida is if meth, a manatee or bath salts were involved. The fight, which was at the Cheap Seats Sports Bar, started off typically enough, with a verbal argument in the parking lot (please, please let his nemesis be named "Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Smith"). This, naturally, attracted passing police officers. Things were broken up and some friends took Miller to his home, which was apparently just behind the bar. That's when he returned with the hatchet tucked under his shirt. Miller promptly proceeded to take out the implement of destruction in the bar's bathroom and... forget about it entirely. Fortunately, the police hadn't left the area yet. Not surprisingly, Miller was arrested for a parole violation, as well as public intoxication and going armed with intent. Still, cool name, bro. 2016 Ford Explorer revealed with new 2.3-liter EcoBoost
Wed, 19 Nov 2014
A 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder takes over where the old 2.0 left off, making 270 hp and 300 lb-ft.
Right now, around 23 percent of all Ford vehicles sold in the United States is a utility vehicle. By 2020, Ford expects that figure to increase all the way to 29 percent. Put simply, SUVs and crossovers are very big business at Ford. So, when it comes time to update the Explorer, Ford's original sport utility vehicle, you can be sure that a whole heck of a lot of effort goes into the process.
2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.
