We have for sale a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor which is a one owner car we obtained from a local municipal police department who purchased the car new and maintained it on a regular based as required. The car has 94222 miles on it certified odometer/speedometer which for a vehicle in service as this was, is very good mileage. Our in house service department went over the car from front to back and serviced and inspected everything that needed done as some that didn't. Little things like a cloudy corner light got replaced.  Everything on this car inside and out works.  The car has brand new Pennsylvania safety and emissions inspection stickers good until May 2014.

Our body shop filled the holes in the rear deck lid from mounting radio antenna's and painted the trunk to match the car, the roof of the car is also clean which gives the car a nicer appearance overall. This car came to us without rust or dents, this car was not abused while in service. As I said everything on this car works as it should. the power windows and door locks all work and the power drivers side lumbar support for the front seat works as well. Even the spotlight on the outside of the car works. This car has all the normal factory Ford P71 Police Interceptor equipment including a 200 amp alternator, limited slip rear differential, dual exhaust, oil and transmission coolers, a heavy duty frame and suspension and wheels and includes sway bars.

The car itself is in overall excellent condition, the inside has the normal rubber floors front and rear, the back seat looks like new and the front seat both have minimal wear. Mechanically the car is in great shape and runs and drives 100%, the transmission shifts perfectly. You can buy this car and not expect to need to put money into it to drive it. This is a very nice example of a true Police Interceptor. If you are the person looking for one this is a nice car that could go back in service tomorrow without issue. This is not a tired old beat up cruiser.

If you have any questions or are interested in this or any of our other P71's please call Carlevale Custom Cars at 717-685-1341. Since the caris for sale on our lot we reserve the right to end the listing early should it sell.

Ford to cease Australian automaking operations after 90 years

Thu, 23 May 2013

Ford began manufacturing cars in Australia in 1925 with the Model T. In 2016, Ford will stop manufacturing cars Down Under, including the Falcon and the Territory SUV. Ford Australia CEO Bob Graziano has reportedly confirmed the closure of the company's Broadmeadows assembly plant and the Geelong engine plant, both in the state of Victoria. There will be 650 jobs lost at Broadmeadows, 510 sacrificed at Geelong. Of the roughly 3,000 workers the Blue Oval has in Australia, it's said it will try to retain about 1,000 of them at its R&D and product development facilities.
The writing hasn't just been on the wall, it's been a regular item in all the papers and on Ford's bottom line for years. As recently as 2003, Ford sold nearly 75,000 Falcons, but over the next four years, annual sales dropped by something like 10,000 units, and over the last two years, it has sold less than 20,000 per year. It isn't only Ford that has suffered - sales of the other large, locally produced sedan, the Holden Commodore, have also gone over the precipice, triggering the same kind of angst about Holden's continued existence. Ford is the smallest of Australia's local automakers, Holden and Toyota the others, and has posted losses of $AUD141 million last year ($136M US) and $AUD600 million ($580M US) in the past five years. Graziano said the cost of manufacturing is simply too expensive in the country, twice as high as Europe and three times as high as Asia, and there no way to make a business case for staying in the country.
In January 2012, Ford Australia announced it would stay in the country until at least 2016, but by July of the same year, most outside observers were quietly declaring that 2016 would be the last year of Ford Down Under, and even the speculation was making other observers nervous. Ford received money from the Victorian government last year to aid its refresh of the Falcon and Territory, which will continue on schedule for the 2014 model year. A front- and all-wheel-drive sedan on a global platform is predicted to replace the Falcon, with some other SUV expected to replace the Territory. The company says it still intends to expand its lineup in the country.

Ford bringing adaptive steering to the masses [w/video]

Thu, 29 May 2014

Within the next year, Ford will offer a brand-new adaptive steering system (unimaginatively dubbed "Ford Adaptive Steering"), and this week, the automaker invited us out to its proving grounds in Dearborn, MI to get a taste for how its new setup works. In function, Ford's system doesn't greatly differ from the majority of other adaptive steering units already on the market from companies like Audi or BMW, but consider this: Ford will be the first non-luxury automaker to offer this technology, and uniquely, the whole system fits inside the car's steering wheel.
Ford's engineers have worked hard to create a system that can be tacked on to the company's full lineup of cars, trucks and utility vehicles, and says that the adaptive steering will be uniquely tuned for each specific vehicle. The automaker will not confirm exactly which vehicle will launch with this technology, but for the purpose of our preview, we tested the technology in a 2014 Fusion - a vehicle with already-good behind-the-wheel feel, one that the company says best demonstrates its current steering efforts.

Ford readying three-row Edge for China

Fri, Nov 21 2014

The next-generation Ford Edge will be available with quite a growth spurt for its debut in China next year, with newly announced plans also to build and sell a three-row version exclusively in the People's Republic. However, markets outside of there likely won't see the larger model. Ford marketing boss (and future head of Ford of Europe) Jim Farley announced the three-row version of the crossover at the Los Angeles Auto Show, according to Automotive News. To create the extra room, Ford made the Chinese-built variant about 16 inches longer than its two-row counterpart. Farley didn't specify at which of the Blue Oval's plants in the country this model would be assembled. The Explorer and forthcoming Everest already offer three rows from the Ford lineup in China, but the company thinks the market can easily support all of them. According to Farley to Automotive News, the utility segment is up 485 percent in the country since 2008. Customers in the US can still look forward to the two-row Edge hitting dealers early next year. It'll be the first model in the Blue Oval's lineup here to come standard with EcoBoost power.
