This 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is a one owner vehicle purchased new by a local municipal police department who took delivery of the car in July of 2005 with 16 miles on it. The car was in active service until we purchased the unit from the pd. The car has been completely serviced by our in house service department including new brakes, two wheel bearings and the oil has been changed and transmission serviced. The car was completely repainted all black since the car was a marked black and white unit. As such the car has no holes for things such as light bars, antenna's or spotlights. There are no cracked bumper covers which are common and there is no rust on the car.
The vehicle is completely 100% working condition including all the windows and the a/c and heater. The car has Firestone tires on heavy duty wheels. This car has all the normal P71 Police Interceptor package items such as a 200 amp alternator, heavy duty suspension and frame, dual exhaust and a limited slip rear differential. The interior of the car is basic black/gray and has all rubber flooring and cloth buckets in the front and a vinyl bench seat in the rear which look new. The remote trunk release works as does the overhead/dome report light.
This car was well maintained when in service and shows it now. This car was never abused and has a ton of life left in it. This is an excellent car for the money and we are selling it without a reserve. Since the car is for sale on our lot we reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells. Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?
Thu, 15 Nov 2012Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.
NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs
Mon, 11 Mar 2013It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
MyFord Touch getting second update, extended warranty
Wed, 28 Nov 2012There is no doubt that Ford has had its hands full fielding complaints with its MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems these days, but looking to keep its customers happy, Ford is once again upgrading its infotainment systems and extending the warranties. Despite having just sent out updates for its systems back in March, Automotive News says that customers are still complaining about the speed and ease of use.
Vehicles with MyFord Touch will now get a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty, while the MyLincoln Touch will have a six-year, unlimited-mile warranty. Previously, the systems were covered under basic warranties (three-year, 36,000-mile for Ford and four-year, 60,000-miles for Lincoln).
What is being referred to as "version 3.5" for the MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems will be mailed out (or downloaded) next month for owners of cars without navigation and in January for cars with nav. Owners of hybrids, plug-ins and electric vehicles will get the update sometime in the first quarter of next year.
