Up for sale is a 2003 Ford Police Interceptor. Mechanically it's in perfect condition. Everything works.

Here are the features:

*Tires are recent. All matching. I put them on not too long ago and are at 80% tread. Properly balanced so no shakes/vibration.
*Engine and Tranny are all original.
*It's got 140k miles but don't be scared. I have owned the car for past 4 years and for past 2 years my daily work commute has been 85 miles round trip, thus the mileage.
*It's got a brand new alternator with lifetime warranty.
*It's got a brand new intake manifold (these are notorious for failure in these cars. Mine failed and was replaced about 6 months ago) so you don't have to worry about it.
*Recent transmission service. Locks up perfect, no delay in shifting, kickdown is perfect, OD is working perfect.
*Rear end fluids were serviced. Inspection didn't show any play in rear end bearings / axle bearings.
*Needs oil change in about 2000 miles. I've always ran synthetic. I don't know what the police department used to run.
*Full size spare and jack.
*Power windows and locks work perfect.
*The rear doors open from inside (police departments disable these). Mine was a family vehicle so I had to have operational doors.
*It's got a vinyl/leather back seat (not plastic).
*Center console.
*Brakes were done 3000 miles ago.
*Been averaging 19-21 mpg combined driving (city/highway) from Temple Terrace to Largo 5 days a week.
*Tinted windows all the way around (legal, not limo tint).
*Black steel wheels with chrome center caps.
*Rhino bar push bar.
*It has new U-Joints (installed about 3000 miles ago) on its aluminum driveshaft. Preventative maintenance. Nothing was wrong with the original.
*It has police issued spotlight which is super bright.
*It has HID lights (6000k temperature, which has a slight blue tint to it) which are super bright and make a day/night difference, literally. They were properly installed with a relay harness so they don't flicker.

****Keep in mind that this is not a perfect car. Pictures are REAL, of the ACTUAL car. There are flaws (minor scratches, minor paint chips, etc.) but from 10-15 feet away from where the pictures were taken, you can see for yourself. Don't expect this to be perfect.
****Driver side rear view mirror is cracked. Not the assembly, but just the reflective glass/mirror itself. It's $10-15 on ebay.

UPDATE:
With all the trade offers I've received so far, I would consider trade for equal value jet-ski or dirtbike + cash or an aluminum and/or equipment/utility trailer of equal value.

*I highly recommend that you come and inspect the car in person. I don't think you will be disappointed. I've represented the car to the best of my knowledge. Please ask all questions before bidding.

2015 Ford Mustang GT road test ride-along

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

You've no doubt already pored over our first drive of the 2015 Ford Mustang, where author Jonathon Ramsey proclaimed that "this new car shames the old, redefines the model and gallops far ahead of anything else in the segment." And following Ramsey's first stint behind the wheel of Ford's new coupe, we sent him back out with another 'Stang to capture some of these same impressions over a backdrop of the car moving quickly along gorgeous California canyon roads.
But this also gave our author and editors time to read through the hundreds of comments left on that original Mustang review. You readers are indeed a vocal bunch, and one particular comment about how the automotive media is so willing to bash an outgoing car as soon as the new one arrives really caught our attention. In this video, Ramsey stands by his written text, saying the new Mustang is "massively better than the one it replaces," and in doing so, addresses your comments while providing more insight into just how good the Ford truly is.
We won't spoil the rest for you. Check out the feature video above, and as always, leave us your thoughts in the Comments section below.

2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Power Stroke

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

What weighs 30,000 pounds? Big Ben's Westminster bell. A navy ship anchor. Or as we found out during our first drive program for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty, seven pallets of cinder blocks loaded onto a dual-axle gooseneck trailer. The test was part of a raft of towing demonstrations that showcased the new Super Duty's impressive tug capacity, which maxes out at 32,100 pounds. That's 1,200 more than its nearest rival, the Ram 3500, when equipped with its upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8. Such is the heavy-duty pickup truck business, a diesel-fueled game of one-upmanship with only three players: Ford, Chevrolet/GMC and Ram. And in this game, the one with the most torque wins.
Until 2014, Ford was the one to beat, with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel bringing 400 hp and a massive 800 lb-ft of torque to the table. Then last year, Ram did exactly that, serving Ford with a beefed-up Cummins turbodiesel inline-six in its freshened Ram Heavy Duty truck line with 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 30,000 pounds. But Ford claims it had designed its engine to be relatively easy to upgrade when the time called for it, so for 2015, Ford bolted a larger turbo to the Power Stroke, bringing output to an insane 440 hp and 860 lb-ft of twist, all without reducing fuel efficiency. Maximum tow capacity rises from 24,700 lbs to an incredible 31,200 lbs for the F-450 dually.
As for GM's HDs? They lag behind the lot with their 6.6-liter Duramax V-8, producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, you know things are serious when the trucks with 765 lb-ft are the knock-kneed wimps of the lot.

Woman trades 1914 Model T in for 2013 Corvette

Wed, 17 Apr 2013

We're sure that dealers must see all sorts of interesting trade ins, but this one may take the cake. Red River Chevrolet in Bossier City, Louisiana, recently had a customer come in with an odd request. Tina Boyter wanted to trade in three vehicles on a brand-new 2013 Chevy Corvette. Among the hardware was 1980 Corvette, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado and a 1914 Ford Model T. While the '80 Corvette had been her personal car for years, the '78 Eldorado had belonged to Boyter's mother before she traded up to a Lincoln. The big Caddy had just 10,290 miles on the clock when it was traded in.
And the Model T? Boyter says the car was built as a racer by Ford, and that it had been a show winner for years when it belonged to her father. But, after spending the last 16 years in a museum with its fluids drained, Boyter decided it was time to shed some of the past. She walked into the dealer, laid eyes on a white 2LT Corvette with a red interior and offered to trade all three of the vehicles in on the sports car.
Why not wait for the C7? "I fell in love with that one when I walked in the door," She said. We can't fault her there.
