For auction is 2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Black beauty! Great condition! Well maintained by a fire captain of a local fire department. Runs and shifts well and strong. Rides great! No leaks! Ice cold AC. Hot heat. Fresh oil. Changed every 3000 miles. No rust, originally a southern, law enforcement vehicle. High power, high performance engine V8, 4.6 liter. High performance brakes. They do not make the Crown Victoria Police interceptor anymore. Made to work! Grab this vehicle now before they disappear. I have all the maintenance records for the past 7 years. Only 170,000 miles. Runs like are P71 with half the miles. Air assist lift in the back with trunk box and lid with full size spare and jack. $300 push bar. Very clean interior, four small holes in dash. Back seat near perfect. Some scuffs from the cage on the rear of the front seats. Not bad at all. No antenna holes! Paint is good with normal wear and tear. All imperfections are hard to see or can be touched up. Tires maybe 50%, good to good. This vehicle is drive ready. I have no problem driving this anywhere. Which leads me to the next. To make this vehicle stand out, I am willing to deliver this vehicle anywhere (within reason) for one dollar a mile by use of Rand McNally.com. We can make our arraignments after the sale. Just let me know. I will require just $200 down (minimum) after the sale within 5 days to hold the vehicle. This is non-refundable so I can cover fees if you back out. The balance on delivery or pick up. On sale locally. You are free to see the vehicle if you contact me. You will be the third owner. Started in Oklahoma in 2003 with a large police agency, then to a broker for a short time and then to me in 2006. Bottom line a great vehicle! The reason for the sale is that a newer crown Victoria has been purchased. Come drive and you will be hooked. Drive fast and feel the pursuit gear kick in! Thanks for looking.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.
Ladies Love It: Ford Fiesta wins Womens World Car of the Year
Thu, 25 Jul 2013It's official: A panel of female automotive writers has chosen the Ford Fiesta 1.0-liter EcoBoost as the Womens World Car of the Year, and it beat tough competition like the Mazda CX-5, Range Rover and Porsche Boxster S for the overall top spot.
The CX-5 and Range Rover won the SUV and Luxury Car categories, respectively, and the Boxster S laid claim to the Sports Car category, beating the runner up Audi RS5 and third place Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ (or Scion FR-S). The Audi Allroad was named the Family car of the year.
The panel consisted of 18 female automotive writers from around the world tasked with picking the best car in each of eight categories, including top vehicle overall, using criteria that women utilize when shopping for a car. That includes safety, value-for-money, aesthetic appearance, storage space, child-friendliness, ease-of-driving, color, sex appeal and environmental footprint.
Lincoln Continental production likely to shift to Flat Rock
Fri, Jun 12 2015Lincoln production may be returning to Michigan, according to a new report from Automotive News. While the brand's current big sedan, the MKS, is built alongside the Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer, and their Police Interceptor counterparts at the Blue Oval's Chicago, IL factory, the production version of the Continental won't be screwed together in the Windy City. According to AN, "industry sources" claim the Continental will join the Ford Mustang and Ford Fusion – on which the big Lincoln is loosely based – at the company's Flat Rock, MI factory. The move isn't just based on convenience, though. Ford is selling a lot of Explorers, and shifting Lincoln production away from Chicago Assembly frees up production capacity for the popular SUV. "Chicago Assembly Plant is vital to our global manufacturing footprint and will continue to manufacture the Ford Taurus, Ford Explorer and Police Interceptor vehicles even after we phase out production of the MKS in 2016," Ford told Automotive News. "We will continue to match production to demand." Looking at the numbers further backs up the argument against Lincoln production in Chicago. Last year alone, Ford built nearly 285,000 Explorers and over 73,000 Taurus sedans, compared to just 8,300 Lincolns. Finally, as AN tells it, Ford is almost telegraphing the Continental's arrival in Flat Rock. The facility has a four-week shut down scheduled from June 15 through July 13, which is twice as long as the typical summer vacation, while there's another two weeks off slated for September.
