'99 Vic in very good condition. 197k miles. Daily driver, so mileage will increase. Top-end rebuilt. Runs VERY well. Left axle replaced. Brakes are good. Has had 100% synthetic oil changes consistently, well ahead of normal intervals. Air blows cold. Interior is fairly clean and decent. Paint is good (just detailed and shiny) with minor defects consistent with age and former law enforcement service. Front bumper skin will require a repaint. Rear door handles, locks and windows are inoperative from the inside. Eagle RSA's are installed all around and will need replacement soon, but are serviceable. Has integrated hitch receiver with complete wiring. Isolation relay is included to protect factory harness, ready for towing. The LCM relay upgrade was performed on this vehicle. This means that a set of high-output relays have been integrated into the lighting control module system. This virtually eliminates the chance of LCM (all vehicle lighting) failure and provides NOTICEABLY brighter headlight output.
A set of used, full-sized wheel covers are included.
Vehicle originated out of Sheriff Joe's Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. This has been a reliable car for me circa 2001 from California through New Mexico and beyond. I would be comfortable driving this car across the United States and back.
Vehicle is being offered for sale locally and is subject to prior sale, so this auction may be cancelled at any time. Item is sold as-is and without warranty of any kind. Purchase price is due at end of auction. The car is located in southern New Mexico. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Seller will cooperate.

Daimler consulting with Ford about 3-cylinder engines
Mon, 27 May 2013Soon enough, Ford will offer its 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the Fiesta here in the United States, building on the success of the small powerplant overseas. In fact, this success has caused other automakers to take notice, and according to Automotive News Europe, Daimler is now talking to Ford about this engine for use in its own products.
In other markets, Ford offers the 1.0-liter mill under the hood of the Focus (we had the chance to sample this package on our home turf), as well as the B-Max MPV. For this new collaboration, Daimler would use the turbo-three in the next-generation Smart ForTwo, as well as the Renault Twingo, which the German automaker will be collaborating on as part of its alliance with Renault-Nissan. Speaking to AN, a Mercedes-Benz engineer called the 1.0-liter mill an "interesting and impressive engine."
In exchange for details about the EcoBoost inline-three, Daimler will supply Ford with information regarding its Euro6 stratified lean-burn gasoline engine, which is found in the new E-Class sedan.
Ex-PR chief Vines accuses Ford of bugging cars, phones
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Jason Vines, former head of communications at Ford among other automakers, is accusing the Blue Oval of bugging his company phone and his car during the Firestone tire recall for the Explorer in 2001. The allegations have come to light in Vines' upcoming book What Did Jesus Drive? Crisis PR in Cars, Computers and Christianity.
According to The Detroit News, which has an advance copy of the book, Vines (pictured above) claims that after leaving the company, someone with security within Ford advised him that he had been bugged around the time of the recall. The allegations don't stop there, though. Vines further contends that he might not have been the only one to get this treatment, noting that then-general counsel John Rintamaki also believed he was being listened to.
According to The Detroit News, even if it had been a company phone, recording Vines without his knowledge still would have been a felony under Michigan law.
Ford says 70% of its models to get stop-start by 2017
Sun, 15 Dec 2013Ford is following up on a report we posted a few weeks back that the Blue Oval would be adding stop-start technology to its entire model range. Now, the Dearborn-based automaker has announced that the fuel-saving feature would be available on 70 percent of the company's range by 2017.
Ford claims the technology will improve fuel economy by around 3.5 percent, although its actual effect will vary based on how the owner drives - apparently up to a 10-percent improvement is possible for those who sit in heavy traffic (Los Angelenos, this means you). The latest recipient of the technology is the updated 2014 Ford Fiesta with the company's three-cylinder EcoBoost powerplant.
Part of the reasoning for the new addition has to do with cost. Ford claims the tech is affordable and easy to implement. "Simply put, Auto Start-Stop helps customers use less fuel, which is an important component of Ford's Blueprint for Sustainability," Ford's global powertrain vice president, Bob Fascetti, said.
