I have owned this car for 60,000 miles (~3 years). During this time, it has had regular tune-ups and oil changes, new tires, new front-end suspension parts as needed, new wiper transmission, new power steering pump, new cooling fan, new differential/bearing replacement parts and a differential oil flush, new battery, and various other replacements/upgrades. It has never once broken down or failed to start, and has been my daily driver. The vehicle is due for new filters, and could use a new fan clutch, thermostat and coolant flush (temp gauge has been slightly above median during long drives, but still within safe limits). I will be including new parts for this (over $150 worth of parts). No stereo, but can provide the wiring diagram and a used stereo (all car speakers are working). It comes with a clean title too. Selling "as is."A bit sad to give up the Millennium Falcon, although I don't really need two P71's..."

1997 Ford Crown Victoria P71 (Police Interceptor) with 192,000 miles. 4-door, V8 4.6L engine, automatic transmission, RWD. Still running well after all this time (working heat/AC, power windows/locks, etc.). I have owned this car for 60,000 miles (~3 years). During this time, it has had regular tune-ups and oil changes, replacement tires, new front-end suspension parts as needed, new wiper transmission, new power steering pump, new cooling fan, new differential/bearing replacement parts and a differential oil flush, new battery, and various other replacements/upgrades. It has never once broken down or failed to start, and has been my daily driver to/from work.

The vehicle is due for new filters, and could use a new fan clutch, thermostat and coolant flush (temp gauge has been slightly above median during long drives, but still within safe limits). I will be including new parts for this (over $150 worth of parts) - just haven't had a chance to replace them myself. Also, there are some small rust spots/scratches and the hood is not perfectly flush with the body due to a collision with a deer some time ago (thus, the new headlights/grill/bumper). The price is low due to age/mileage and minor cosmetic issues. I pulled the stereo to put it into a different car, but can provide the wiring diagram and a used stereo if desired (easy to hook-up, and all car speakers are working). It comes with a clean title too. Selling "as is."

Asking $1,100 OBO. Please reply to post via email, or call/txt Chris at (978) 3three3-117nine (spelled out number to avoid bots) if interested. Expect a slightly morose man - a bit sad to give up the Millennium Falcon, although I don't really need two P71's...

Mulally wanted to kill Lincoln as late as last year, Fields vows to turn it around

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Lincoln fans might want to give incoming Ford CEO Mark Fields a pat on the back for having a hand in saving the brand from the chopping block last year. He's among the people spearheading the rejuvenation of the division away from its stodgy image to appeal to younger customers.
According to two unnamed sources speaking to Bloomberg, CEO Alan Mulally was ready to kill Lincoln last year. Following the slow production ramp-up of the MKZ combined a with a costly ad campaign, Mulally was frustrated and openly suggested dropping the brand. However, Fields and Jim Farley, Ford's marketing boss, convinced the CEO that the brand was worth saving. They also created a plan to prevent similar problems for new models in the future.
It seems that one part of the strategy may involve waiting until new models are at dealers before starting a big ad campaign for them. Lincoln global director, Matt VanDyke, recently told Autoblog that the division is holding off on a full marketing push behind the new MKC crossover to prevent the supply problems that plagued the MKZ last year. Its big offensive begins in the fall when the CUVs are at all of the dealers and consumers are at home watching more TV. VanDyke also told Bloomberg that Fields, Farley and Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, have more direct oversight over new product launches now.

Project Ugly Horse: Part IX

One Step at a Time
Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.

Project Ugly Horse alive and kicking at Road & Track

The hallways of the Autoblog campus are much quieter now that Zach Bowman has taken his prose, along with his welders, wrenches and hammers, over to the digital pages of Road & Track, but that doesn't mean our favorite project Mustang is gone forever. Project Ugly Horse is still coming along, and Zach has gifted us another update on his unfoxy Fox Body.
Last we saw of the Ugly Horse, Zach was strengthening up the '89 Mustang's chassis as he prepares to stuff the turbocharged, direct-injected EcoBoost engine of a Ford Focus ST under the hood. First things first, the old mill must go. Head on over to Road & Track to catch the latest chapter of Project Ugly Horse.
