1990 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, 5.0L V8 with automatic overdrive transmission. 112k original miles, runs & drives great, very strong! White with dark blue interior, Cloth front split bench seats with arm rests, and vinyl rear seat. Has all the police goodies, Powerful V8 engine, 140mph certified calibration speedometer, heavy duty steel wheels with all four correct police full wheel cover hubcaps, heavy duty four core radiator, heavy duty oil cooler, transmission fluid cooler and power steering cooler, 100 amp alternator, heavy duty suspension, heavy duty brakes, heavy duty shocks and sway bars. This car is a tank, built to last and take a beating! Nice chrome, straight body with very minor dings and scratches from fleet use! Good shape for its age and being a police car! These old police models are getting really hard to find and are becoming very popular with collectors. Has new fuel pump, new ignition coil, new ignition control, new headlights.

The bad: The car's transmission slips in and out of fourth gear when driven in overdrive "(D)" ! The car runs and drives fantastic in regular drive "D" will do all 140mph in that gear! I drive this car daily and have driven it out of town 400 miles at 80mph and it did just fine! It has been a very dependable car! The cars interior is in good/fair condition.  The steering wheel is in poor condition and peeling at the top. Dashboard is severely cracked due to Arizona heat but does have a new matching dash mat that covers it up very nicely. Some holes in dash trim from removal of  police radio and mic.

It has minor electrical issues caused by the removal of the police radio and lights. They were careless when removing the equipment and snipped the wrong wires under the dash. This has caused the wipers, turn signals, A/C, power mirrors, temperature gauge, interior lights, and dash clock not to work. Someone with patience to match and reconnect the wires is all it will take to fix this! The brake lights, headlights, gas gauge, speedometer all work fine. Front power windows are weak to go up or down need manual assistance, rear windows go up and down fine.

This would make a great car for a Police car Collector or restoration or even a cool daily driver! Needs some TLC but hey its over 20 years old, cant expect a new car, especially it being a retired police car. Again the car runs & drives great has a clear open title!

Ford rolls out diesel Focus ST at Goodwood [w/poll]

Sun, 29 Jun 2014

If you're in the market for a hot hatch, there are some excellent choices at your disposal - especially if you live in Europe. But if you want a diesel, well, your choices become rather more limited. Volkswagen tends to that niche market with the Golf GTD (essentially an oil-burning version of the GTI available Stateside), but that's about the extent of it. The pleas of those looking for more diesel-burning hot hatch choices haven't fallen on deaf ears at Ford, with the Blue Oval not only rolling out a facelifted gas-powered Focus ST at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, but also a new diesel version as well.
The diesel Focus ST (which we hope and pray isn't marketed as the STD) packs a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four producing 182 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to propel the oil-burning hot hatch to 62 in 8.1 seconds en route to a top speed of 135 miles per hour. With less power and only slightly more torque, that makes the diesel Focus ST considerably slower than the gasoline one, which packs 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, runs to 62 in 6.5 seconds and tops out at 154 mph, but (in a testament to how far particulate filters have come) the diesel model cuts carbon emissions by nearly a third compared to the petrol version and returns about 50-percent better fuel economy, which makes that much more of a difference in markets where diesel is already priced better than gasoline at the pump.
For buyers who wouldn't consider anything other than a diesel, it also represents 23-percent more power than the previous top-level diesel Focus. The VW Golf GTD, for reference, offers up 181 hp (just 1 horse less), 280 lb-ft (15 fewer torques) but is somehow estimated to reach 60 in a considerably fleeter 7.4 seconds.

Saab-powered Ford is the most unlikely drift car we've seen

Tue, Jan 19 2016

Yes, you read that headline correctly. It's supposed to be a Saab-powered Ford, and not the other way around (although we fully support the notion of a Sonnet with a Flathead V8). Apparently, some lunatic in the UK took an ass-less 1953 Ford Anglia, paired it with a turbocharged Saab engine, and tuned the entire thing to go drifting. We like it. Called Urchfab, it's the subject of Carfection's (the blokes formerly known as XCar) latest video. Aside from looking like an extra from the British version of Mad Max, it has a problem with grip, in that there's just too much of it. This car is a fabber's dream, as we get to see its unnamed owner fashion new bits and bobs for the suspension before having an unfortunate encounter with a wall at Castle Combe. You can check out the full video up at the top of the page for a closer look at this monstrous Anglia. Related Video:

Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too. Scroll down to watch a very cool Finn getting his hot rod a little dirty.
