1956 Ford Crown Victoria - Fiesta Red & Colonial White!! on 2040-cars
Paradise, Pennsylvania, United States
1956 Ford Crown Victoria in Fiesta red & Colonial White. This car is equipped with a 312 V-8, with a 4 barrel carburetor and is 3 speed manual. It has a nice factory correct reproduction ABC interior, with optional NOS factory wire hubcaps, front & rear crash guards, fender skirts and a rear deck antenna. The car has a solid body with an older restoration done in lacquer. The Colonial White paint has developed some hairline cracks at stress points, such as the mirrors, door handles and rear deck antenna. The car does not have cracks in the white paint all over, only at the stress points, as shown. The car still won a 3rd place trophy recently in a show. However, I'd consider it a nice cruise night car, rather than a show car. To be a true show car, the car should be repainted; it all depends what you want for the car. Some people want a cruise night car and others want a show car. That being said, she draws a lot of attention where ever we take her and is still very sharp looking. Her chrome is good and was replaced, not rusty, not dented. The car is not dented and scraped up. The car is in excellent shape mechanically, with the motor having been completely rebuilt and no expense has been spared to keep her properly maintained to drive any where. The speedometer reads 74 thousand and some odd miles, which we believe to be original, but can't guarantee it. We had wanted to restore her to her original trophy winning days, where she was always a contender, but due to some unforseen health issues, we are going to part with our baby. There will be a lot of tears when she goes, as we have a lot of memories with this car, since we've owned it since 1985. We just hope she gets a good home, where she can be enjoyed and create a lot of great memories for years to come, for her new owner, like she did for us. There is a lot of additional parts, including new chrome to put on the car if it would be redone. The chrome she has now is nice, but this stuff is more show quality. We also have some used parts put back in case she would have ever been wrecked while we had her. Thankfully, we never had to use those parts. The price we want for the car, is just for the car and any parts not on the car, would be at an additional cost. If you buy the car, I'll give you a better deal on the parts, than if I sell them separately. No parts, will be sold unless the car is sold first. The car just had the carburetor totally redone and she runs like a top; I wouldn't be afraid to take her any where. That being said, this car is being sold as is and there is no warranty implied. Also, this car is being advertised locally, so an immediate local sale could result in the listing being ended prematurely. If you have any questions, or would like additional pictures, just give me a call. Call Ray at 717-407-5115 or email joypom55@yahoo.com On Aug-24-14 at 10:48:44 PDT, seller added the following information: For those of you, who are seriously interested in this car, please note that the pictures of the hairline cracks at stress points, look worse in pics, than they do on the car. Those pics. were taken practically on top of the cracks to make them show up in the pics. Also, a couple people asked me, if the car has overdrive and the answer is no. As far as the restoration, there was no frame work needed, including no cross member work needed. The work that was done to this car, was done by a professional body man, who did the car up for himself. He did work behind the rear wheel wells and the rockers and that was about it. This was a solid car to begin with and we used to show the car regularly and win trophies with it. That being said, no older restoration can compete with somebody's brand new restoration for trophies. We prefer to go to cruises any more than enter car shows, but it's all in what you want to do with the car. Currently, we use her as a fun, attention getting cruise night car. |

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible to recreate Empire State Building stunt
Tue, 25 Mar 2014It would have been all too easy to miss the auto show debut of the 2015 Ford Mustang convertible. It was, after all, unveiled alongside its fixed-roof counterpart at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, lumping coupe and cabrio into one debut. But Ford is evidently still intent on making its new droptop stand out. The top of the Empire State Building ought to do the trick.
Automotive history buffs may recall that, 50 years ago, Ford unveiled its first Mustang convertible atop what was then the tallest building in the world, that Art Deco icon of the New York skyline. Half a century later, Ford is recreating the feat and bringing the new topless Mustang to the same observation deck on the building's 86th floor.
Getting it up there, of course, will be no easy task. While they'd usually airlift the vehicle onto the roof or lift it by crane, the spire protruding from atop the building makes approaching the narrow observation deck too dangerous, and no mobile crane can telescope the thousand-plus feet it would take to get the pony car up there.
2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost
Fri, 16 May 2014Earlier this week, Ford invited us to Charlotte, NC, to ride in an all-new 2015 Mustang fitted with its turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the first forced-induction, four-cylinder ponycar for the Blue Oval since the sun set on the 1986 Mustang SVO. We jumped at the opportunity, as only a handful of people have ever been in the passenger seat of this new car, and most automotive media won't get as close as we did until this fall.
As we revealed in our Deep Dive, Ford will slot this new turbocharged four as premium powerplant between its naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V6 and the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. At last mention, the automaker said the direct-injected, all-aluminum engine will develop 305 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, returning the best fuel economy of the three powerplants in the process. History buffs will note that those figures are appreciably stouter than the 200 horses and 240 lb-ft that the '86 SVO realized out of the same displacement, and the latter's figures were hugely impressive at the time. On paper, the new EcoBoost four looks to be a good fit for most owners who want to balance performance with efficiency - we were eager to see how it felt from the passenger seat.

2015 Ford Mustang invades SEMA, led by King Cobra
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Ford showcased more than a dozen customized 2015 Mustangs at its sprawling 20,000-square foot display this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center as the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary celebration continued at the SEMA Show.
While Mustangs are always a hot commodity at SEMA, the new generation brought increased attention from the aftermarket, as builders like Galpin Auto Sports, Richard Petty's Garage and Vaughn Gittin Jr. offered their takes on the new 'Stang.
The extensive display included a range of Mustangs from mild to wild, with everything from a 600-plus horsepower King Cobra pictured at the top, to paint-and-wheel packages. The new regal Cobra, which we spied early in our SEMA adventure this year, may not be the replacement for the Cobra Jet as we speculated, but it does seem to point the way forward for the next iteration of a supreme Ford dragster. Fat drag slicks out back make it's reason for being abundantly clear, and for tells us that modded car is good for a 10.97-second quarter-mile run.
