1955 Ford 2 Door Club Sedan. A True Barn Find! 99% Complete. on 2040-cars
Yukon, Oklahoma, United States
Offered at auction is my 1955 Ford 2 Door Club Sedan. eBay does not offer a "Club Sedan" model so I had to list it in the 'Crown Victoria" section. It is NOT a Crown Victoria but the Club Sedan which the Crown Vic model is based on. I recently purchased this highly collectible automobile with the intent of restoring it to it's original beauty. I have since realized that I have too many projects (1946 Chevrolet Truck, 1953 Chevrolet Truck, 1977 GMC Desert Fox, 1964 Honda 300 Dream, etc.) so my time line for restoring this classic is years down the road. Rather than store it I am offering it for auction and hope the new owner will bring it back to it's original condition. Rust is an issue with this car. There are small rust areas on the front fenders but not serious. The headlight eye brows are in GREAT SHAPE with no rust issues at all. The rocker panels are in good condition. Interior floor boards will need replacing or repair. Rear quarter panels are in need of replacement. You can purchase replacement quarter panels on eBay for $165.00 each. That is very affordable USA made fenders that make this a VERY restorable classic. Try that with a 55 Chevy and you will spend tens of thousands just in parts. The engine is the original 272 V8 "Y" engine (highly collectible itself) and turns freely. The frame is in good condition as well as under the hood. There are no major rust issues with the engine compartment, frame, etc. All of the chrome trim is complete and mostly in good condition. The windshield and rear glass are in good condition as well as the rear passenger glass. Both driver and passenger door glass will need to be replaced. I have not been able to open the trunk (no key but have the original ignition key) so I am not sure what is in the trunk or the condition of the trunk floor but you should assume it needs to be replaced. I can see the spare tire and the driver door interior panel in the trunk area (through the rear seat springs into the trunk area). The previous owner "thinks" the oil bath air filter is in the trunk but I honestly don't know yet. I'll try and get a locksmith out here and get the trunk opened in the next few days. I have all four steel rims AND all four original hub caps. Tires are shot (but I did put two new rear tires on it just to be able to load it on my trailer). Brakes are shot (I assume). Transmission shifter is hooked up and appears to shift through all positions and "park" does work to keep the car from rolling. The car is located in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma (50 miles south of Oklahoma City) and I encourage you to take a look prior to bidding if at all possible. I live in the Oklahoma City area so prior arrangements will need to be made so I can meet you to show the car. I have taken a lot of photos of the car and will post as many as possible on the Ebay listing. I can send you additional photos if you request them. I have a very modest reserve set on this car so bid to own. I require a $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit (weeds out the non serious bidders) within 24 hours of the auctions' end so be sure you are serious about buying it if you win the bid. The balance is due within 7 days and payable only by cash or wire transfer. I will help load the car on a trailer for transport and will help the winning bidder to arrange transport if needed BUT I can not deliver the car since my job will prevent me from taking the time off. I understand the complications of buying a vehicle on eBay and trust me I will do everything possible on my end to eliminate the headaches of such a transaction. In other words I can and will work with you to make this as pleasant a transaction as possible. You can reach me at (405) 328-4309 between 8:00 AM CDT and 8:00PM CDT or through the eBay route. Thanks for looking and good luck. Yes, I will answer any question as best I can and as honestly as I can and as fast as I can. |

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers
Thu, 12 Jun 2014For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.
The 11 best scenes from the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed
Tue, Jun 30 2015Over the last three days, the Goodwood Estate has played home to the eponymous Festival of Speed. Thrown by the biggest gearhead in the British aristocracy – Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Earl of March and Kinrara – the Festival of Speed is essentially a tremendous, gasoline-fuelled party, complete with a very large lawn sculpture, that features the world's hottest, weirdest, fastest, and loudest race, production, and historic models. While there are quite literally dozens and dozens of videos from the event – not to mention the full-day replays (of which only day one is available, at present) – we've sifted through them to pluck away the very best. There's stuff from the official Goodwood YouTube channel, as well as several videos from automakers and other third-party channels, and it's all available below. 2015 Ford Mustang GT350R Looks Barely Controllable If you thought the highest-performance Ford Mustang would somehow get more tractable or civilized once it moved to an independent rear suspension, this video shows you have nothing to worry about. Watch as an unnamed driver wrestles the new Shelby GT350R and its flat-plane, 5.2-liter V8 up the hillclimb circuit. Even with the new suspension and sticky tires, this Mustang wants to go any direction but straight, especially following its launch. 2016 Ford Focus RS, Is Very Loud, Blue Ken Block makes his first appearance on our list. Before he steps into his Hoonicorn Mustang, though, the Gymkhana expert tackled the hill in the all-new Focus RS. The vicious bellow of the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder is the star of this commentary-free video, although the gorgeous Nitrous Blue paint job is a nice accompaniment, as well. 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn Runs Hill, Nearly Kills Lord March Mr. Block's two runs behind the wheel of the Hoonicorn were, unsurprisingly, very eventful. While one attempt goes off without a hitch, seeing the American rally driver slip and slide his way to the top of the hill while taking a short break for a donut, the other is slightly more dramatic. Block, along with Lord March in the passenger seat, carries a bit too aggressive an angle into a turn and nearly puts the NASCAR-powered Mustang into the hay bales. Check out the first video above, and the second one below. Kimi Raikkonen Makes Us Miss F1's V8 Era The latest Formula One cars have been maligned for the lackluster noise produced by the new 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6.
Marchionne open to combination with Ford or GM
Fri, Mar 13 2015At the depths of the auto industry implosion, there was widely reported talk that General Motors and Chrysler would be merged into a mighty import-beating behemoth. While such notions clearly never materialized, that doesn't mean the idea is dead. In fact, FCA boss Sergio Marchionne still welcomes the idea of a partnership with either GM or Ford. He responded positively to the idea, calling it "technically feasible," when asked about it at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Automotive News reports. "There's bantering that goes on all the time," Marchionne told AN, before quashing suspicions that a plan was in the works by adding that "nothing substantive" was going on. Our favorite black sweater enthusiast isn't quite as interested in the idea of teaming with a foreign manufacturer like PSA Peugeot Citroen, or in the rumored tie-up with Volkswagen, though. That is a shame, particularly in regards to Marchionne's shut down of a partnership with the French, although it isn't necessarily surprising – FCA already consists of eight automakers, and as Sergio told AN, there's really nothing at PSA that could help the company out. What are your thoughts? Is there an obvious project or segment that would benefit from an FCA partnership with Ford or GM? Have your say in Comments.
