Up for auction is a nice Black 06 P71 Crown Vic - The vehicle is in great shape the paint is nice with some minor scratch's - the interior is in great shape no tears or wear - the steering wheel shows a little wear - the tires are about 80 % - the most recent repairs are the water pump - battery - starter - This vehicle was a supervisors take home cruiser - This vehicle has a clean auto check and has never been wrecked - the miles are high but are all highway and rural road miles - I have been using the vehicle for off duty details - There is some emergency equipment that has been depowered and lights have clear lenses when turned off - the equipment goes with the vehicle except the computer and accessories mobile radio and antennas - personal items - G P S Duty bag etc.. - The emergency equipment will be removed at the auctions end unless other arrangements are made to keep the equipment with the vehicle - The reserve price is for the vehicle only - This vehicle runs strong and smooth and is garage kept - If you have any questions about the equipment or anything else please contact me - The picture of the odometer is what the miles were when I took pictures to list it but had decided to keep it a little longer so the mileage now is 158,200 - There is a $ 500 non refundable deposit do at the auctions end - The buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle or shipping of the vehicle - The vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time - please ask all questions and look at the pictures before bidding - Thanks for looking

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.

NHTSA closes book on Ford, GM probes of 600,000 vehicles
Thu, Nov 27 2014US safety regulators have closed a pair of investigations into some 500,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder sedans built between 2004 to 2007, and 100,000 Chevrolet Impala models from 2014. The Ford investigation focused on rusting heat shields, which may become dislodged and jam the steering, according to Reuters. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that this happened very rarely. In fact, of the ten incidents filed with the government safety watchdog, six came from a single police department, which evidently had some sort of problem with its reporting. As for the Impala, the NHTSA investigators attributed two incidences of "unintended autonomous braking" to user error. In both cases, the vehicles were involved in rear-end collisions. According to GM investigators, it's believed that drivers accidentally activated the electric parking brake, causing the collisions. The vehicles in question were rental cars.
