Ford Mustang Classic Muscle on 2040-cars
Eliot, Maine, United States
I am selling my 1967 Ford Mustang in excellent condition. I have too many toys and this needs to go quickly so it is priced to sell fast. The V8 was recently tuned and runs Perfect. It starts right up and idles smoothly. Has the super reliable, high output 289 V8. This can be a daily summer driver or potential show car. It is garage kept and does not see rain. The paint Is an 8 out of 10. The interior is perfect with no tears or wears. You need only a full tank of gas and roll down the road. I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere cross country. Cash payment within 5 days of close of auction. I am not a mechanic, just appreciate old cars. I don't know a lot about the car other than it is solid, and everything is in good working order. There is virtually no rust. It look like the springs have been replaced to take care of the typical sag on these older cars. I am relisting because a deadbeat did not pay. Do Not sell to this guy, jcojimcolle out of Connecticut. This is sold as is where is. It is also for sale locally so I may remove at anytime. There is a lot of interest in it now. I expect payment in cash. DO NOT bid if you dont have the money. Too many non payers out there. Please email with any questions. Available almost anytime to show. I am 45 minutes north of Boston, MA USA.

Ford and Chrysler reducing summer plant shutdowns
Wed, 22 May 2013Most domestic automaker assembly plants traditionally take a couple of weeks off during the summer. The shutdowns give each plant time for much needed repairs and maintenance, and in some cases, help better align production with demand. Not this year, though, as demand for many models is outstripping what Ford, Chrysler and General Motors plants can produce.
Ford has announced that it will shorten its annual summer shutdown for most North American plants from two weeks to one. The shorter shutdown will increase the carmaker's annual North American production by 40,000 units on top of the 200,000 extra units that it was already planning to produce this year versus last. Automotive News reports that Ford produced 2.8 million vehicles on this continent in 2012, and that output this year has already increased 13 percent through April.
Chrysler, meanwhile, is also operating at full tilt and plans to run some plants through the summer with no shutdown at all. Those not getting a break include Jefferson North where the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are assembled, Toledo North that will assemble the new Cherokee, and Conner Avenue, home of SRT Viper production. Other assembly plants will be down for a single week, while all of Chrysler's engine and transmission plants except one in Indiana will continue operating with no shutdown this summer.
Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Maybe so. The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.
