DINGS, DENTS, DIRTY INTERIOR, DASH HAS SHRANK AND ROLLED UP, WORKING A/C AND HEATER, DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCKS ON IT'S OWN SOME TIMES, FRONT SEAT HEAD RESTS HAVE HOLES CUT IN BACK OF THEM WHERE TV'S USE TO BE, I PUT SEAT COVERS OVER ALL SEATS, DRIVES POORLY. HAD A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON IT AND IT CAME UP BEING IN NEED OF A CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE CAR STRAINS TO SHIFT GEARS SO I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS DUE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER OR NOT. I AM NOT A MECHANIC. THIS IS AN AS IS SALE, NO RETURNS. THIS IS WHAT I DESCRIBE AS A POINT A TO POINT B CAR."

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VEHICLE IN USED/POOR CONDITION.  IT IS A 2000 FORD CONTOUR SE 4 DOOR SEDAN 4CYL AUTOMATIC. IT HAS 210,592 MILES.

RECENTLY HAD SPARK PLUGS CHANGED, PUT 2 TIRES ON FRONT(USED) BUT WITH GOOD TREAD, CHANGED AIR FILTER, AND HAD THE BREAK LIGHTS REPAIRED TO WHERE THEY WORK. THE CAR DOES RUN, BUT POORLY. IT HAS A WORKING A/C, DEFROSTER, HEATER, AND AFTER MARKET CD PLAYER.

THE BAD:
  • THE TAIL LIGHTS DON'T WORK, DON'T KNOW WHY.
  • DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT LENS IS BROKEN SO IT IS COVER WITH RED REFLECTOR TAPER IN THE ARE THE IS BROKEN.
  • HAD A DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON THE CAR, CAME BACK THAT IT NEEDS A CATALYTIC CONVERTER, IT WAS BYPASSED BY PREVIOUS OWNER.
  • THE CAR HAS TROUBLE CHANGING GEARS, AS IF IT LOSES POWER, NOT SURE WHY, TIMING MAY BE OFF. AGAIN NOT A MECHANIC SO CAN'T GUARANTEE WHAT CAUSES IT EXACTLY.
  • THE INTERIOR IS DIRTY (CARPET AND SEATS), I PUT CAR SEAT COVERS OVER THEM. AGAIN CAR WAS IN POOR SHAPE WHEN I GOT IT FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER.
  • THE HEAD RESTS ON BOTH FRONT SEATS HAVE HOLES CUT IN THE BACK OF THEM WHERE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD TV'S INSTALLED (CAR SEAT COVERS HIDE THE HOLES, CAN'T SEE THEM WITH COVERS ON)
  • THE DASH SHRANK AND ROLLED UP (VERY COMMON FOR THIS YEAR CONTOUR)
  • THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SOME TIMES LOCKS ON ITS OWN AND WILL NOT UNLOCK, YOU WILL HAVE TO UNLOCK PASSENGER DOOR AND UNLOCK IT ON THAT DOOR BUTTON OR YOU CAN REACH OVER AND UNLOCK IT.
  • THERE ARE DENTS, DINGS, AND SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE ON THE BODY OF THE CAR
  • PREVIOUS OWNER HAD TINT ON THE BACK WINDOW AND TOOK IT OFF AND SO THE RESIDUE FROM THE TINT IS STILL ON THERE BUT SHOULD BE FAIRLY EASY TO SCRAPE  OFF
  • THE VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE IS BROKEN OFF, STILL HAVE IT IN THE CAR, JUST NOT ATTACHED.
  • BATTERY IN THE CAR IS TOO BIG SO IT WILL NEED TO BE DOWNGRADED, KEEPS HOOD FROM CLOSING DOWN ALL THE WAY.

***THE A/C WORKS. THE DEFROSTER WORKS. THE HEATER WORKS. PREVIOUS OWNER PUT IN AN AFTER MARKET CD PLAYER THAT WORKS GOOD. THE VEHICLE DOES CRANK AND DRIVE.

THE CAR IS IN POOR CONDITION AND NEEDS A LOT OF TLC. I ONLY USED IT FOR A FEW WEEKS AS A POINT A TO POINT B CAR UNTIL I GOT MY CAR BACK.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE THIS CAR, YOU WILL BE PURCHASING THE CAR I HAVE DESCRIBED TO YOU THE BEST I CAN. THIS IS AN AS IS SALE. I AM NOT A MECHANIC, I HAVE LISTED ALL THE PROBLEMS MECHANICALLY AND COSMETICALLY WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE THAT I KNOW OF. IF  YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE, YOUR PURCHASE WILL BE FINAL AND AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY.

VEHICLE DOES HAVE A CLEAR TITLE.

Ford Explorer, Expedition next to go aluminum?

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

Ford made some serious waves when it unveiled the latest F-150. Instead of making its bodywork out of steel, like just about every other truck on the market, Ford went with aluminum. And you can bet the F-150 won't be the last Ford model to go with the lightweight alloy construction, either.
Our compatriots at Edmunds report that Dearborn is considering replacing two of its most popular SUVs with aluminum versions. One candidate is the Expedition, which would make sense considering that the current model (like the two preceding generations and the fullsize Bronco before it) is based on the F-150's underpinnings. Another is the Explorer, which was traditionally based on the Ranger pickup but went with a car-like unibody chassis in its current iteration. If the Explorer does go the way of aluminum, don't expect it to be a part of its very next update, which is likely due too soon for such major changes.
It would stand to reason that, if the Expedition were to go aluminum, so would the next-generation Lincoln Navigator. Ditto the MKT together with the Explorer. But those aren't likely to be the only models in contention for aluminum construction. Like any other automaker, Ford is under pressure to steadily reduce its carbon emissions and improve its fuel economy figures, prompting it to look at a whole range of measures - including more efficient engines, lower rolling-resistance tires, active aerodynamics and lightweight construction. Expect aluminum to play a big part in that equation moving forward.

Ford reflects on radical Mustang concept that never reached showrooms

Tue, 25 Jun 2013

The Ford Mustang that we all know and love made major waves in the auto industry way back in 1964 by offering style and reasonable pricing with optional V8 power. Its long hood and short rear deck, combined with a low-slung and sporty cockpit, made a lasting impression in the minds of consumers and car designers alike, and its basic shape has so endured the test of time that it's still in use today.
This being the case, you may be interested to know that the first Mustang of 1964.5 wasn't actually the first Mustang at all, being preceded by a concept car that made its public debut in 1962. This concept was nothing like the car that would eventually make it into production, with a radical wedge shape and a small V4 engine sitting behind the car's two occupants, driving the rear wheels. In other words, the conceptual Mustang was pretty much the complete opposite of the production Mustang besides the name.
Ford has kindly decided go through its massive archive to bring the original Mustang concept back into the public eye. The company goes so far as to pose this question to fans of the pony car: "Should we borrow a few of these style elements for the next iteration of the Mustang?" Ford celebrates 1 millionth Mustang built at Flat Rock

Thu, 18 Apr 2013

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500. Scroll down for a press release celebrating Flat Rock's milestone Mustang.
