Ford Bronco "people's Choice Winner" on 2040-cars
Aurora, Colorado, United States
Here is my 1971 Bronco, over $40,000 invested and selling below market appraised value. This Bronco won "People's Choice" at the Broncus Moabius Rally in Moab last year. If you want a head turning you found the right pony. Before I get started you have to understand this is my baby. Many hours and dollars went into making this beast what it is today. I would like to find her the right home to a new owner that has a true love for these trucks. All I have to say is prepare to have crowds approach you at the gas station and many many picture taken next to her.
This Bronco has entirely new or rebuilt mechanical components and has gone through a rigorous rotisserie restoration process This is a true U-code VIN Bronco, with the A-code 302 completely rebuilt and beefed up. Specs: - 71 Bronco Ranger 302 with Ford kiwi Green Exterior and paint match spare gas tank - High Lift performance cam installed during restoration - New Wild horse transfer case AND drive shafts - New gas tanks and sending units - Both front and rear axles are new as well. - It's running a 9" Ford in the rear, and a Dana 44 with disc brakes in the front. - The truck has a 5.5" SKYJACKER suspension lift kit. - Running 4 new and one spare 36 inch Super Swappers - All the brakes lines are stainless, and the brake hoses are stainless braided. - Every component in the brake system is new, including all the HYDROBOOST for the ultimate braking power. - The power steering IS BRAND NEW and has all new parts as well, including the steering box, and the lower column with heavy duty new U-joints. - The steering wheel is the leather wrapped billet style with the Ford logo, and the column features billet ends and bezels. - The dual exhaust features dual chamber FlowMaster's connected to Jet Hot coated headers with locking style header bolts. - The battery is a new Optima 800, with a billet hold-down. - All MSD ignition and electrical components - All new Paint match Green Dakota Gauges - The rear bumper is a super duty style, with a swingaway dual gas can rack, and swing away spare tire bracket, and a warn heavy duty wench in the front. - New Corbeau Front and rear seats with 5 point as well as over the shoulder seat belts. - New black carpet over dino mat insulation throughout. - Best top roof and convertible doors (original top and doors do come with sale these are un-restored) - Rhino lined spayed under paneling as well all new Fiberglass hood with hydraulic openers. Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.
Ford car-camo artist works his craft on Australia's new Falcon XR8
Fri, 25 Jul 2014Ford is among the kings of concealment when it comes to test cars. On one recent Mustang SVT mule, the automaker went to the extreme of putting baffles over the exhausts to hide how many there were. Sounds like a lot of work, right? In a new video, the Blue Oval has decided to take fans behind the scenes to show them what it takes to camouflage a prototype. In this case the subject was the recently unveiled 2014 Falcon XR8 for Australia.
Ford's prototype build coordinator Down Under has the very appropriate name of Neil Trickey, and it's his job to obfuscate the important bits of test cars to keep them out of spy shooters' camera lenses. Trickey calls his job a "dark art," and he shows off some of the tricks of his trade in the video. It turns out that the fabric we often see on mules is a type of lycra, but his team isn't above getting out a can of spray paint to conceal parts, too.
Scroll down to watch a video about a man who you probably wish could be a little worse at his job.
Saab-powered Ford is the most unlikely drift car we've seen
Tue, Jan 19 2016Yes, you read that headline correctly. It's supposed to be a Saab-powered Ford, and not the other way around (although we fully support the notion of a Sonnet with a Flathead V8). Apparently, some lunatic in the UK took an ass-less 1953 Ford Anglia, paired it with a turbocharged Saab engine, and tuned the entire thing to go drifting. We like it. Called Urchfab, it's the subject of Carfection's (the blokes formerly known as XCar) latest video. Aside from looking like an extra from the British version of Mad Max, it has a problem with grip, in that there's just too much of it. This car is a fabber's dream, as we get to see its unnamed owner fashion new bits and bobs for the suspension before having an unfortunate encounter with a wall at Castle Combe. You can check out the full video up at the top of the page for a closer look at this monstrous Anglia. Related Video:
