RECENT BUILDUP ON THIS CLASSIC CONVERTIBLE, GET READY FOR SPRING AND SUMMER FUN.

Before the build up, this was being used as a daily driver.

Many new parts just installed in 2014. This truck is ready to go; turn the key and enjoy.

302 V8 Engine with 2 barrel carb. Edelbrock add ons, stock exhaust manifolds. Fired it up this morning and it sounded great. Started on the first crank of the engine.

3 speed floor shift Hurst conversion.

4.11 differential gearing, 9" rear axle and dana 20 transfer case with a J shifter.

Just spent about 300 hours on the exterior paint, body, trim, interior, floors, and underside.
As you can see from the photos, this Bronco has a beautiful body. The paint and body were just completed in March, 2014. The trim and body panels were removed for paint ~ Hood was taken off, doors removed, tailgate taken off, fender, windshield frame, shell and roof rack removed, glass pulled, interior. Areas that seemed weak had new metal welded in by a professional 30 year metal man. The left door hinge post and hinges were replaced new, the rocker panels (inner and outer left and right), left front floor pan, left quarter panel, and tailgate lower section. The floors were cleaned, sanded, and coated with Herculiner for durability and ease of use. The removed panels were sanded down, primed, blocked, primed and blocked, and then painted separately from the truck. Multiple coats of BASF base coat and four coats of clear were applied to the body panels. After giving the new coating about a week drying time, the panels were color sanded and buffed to the shiny finish you see here.

Rear fender flares are new and were painted in the same color. Grill done in silver, as bronco sport models came from the factory.

Windshield gasket is new.

The original steel hard top is included and also received new paint. The inside has been painted to match, in the factory shade of off white.

After painting the exterior, the truck was blasted underneath and the frame and undersides of the floors were sprayed black.

Suspension has been lifted approximately 3" with aftermarket springs and Rancho Shocks.  The C bushings were replaced with the lift kit.

The brakes have new hardware (see photo)

Power steering has been added to this truck.

Era correct looking 15x9" US Indy Mags have been installed new, with new lug nuts and chrome caps.

New chrome trim and emblems

Zero miles on new Radial mud terrain tires, 31"x10.50x15 (time of photos).

Extra capacity rear fuel tank

New Bronco "Sport" and "302" chrome trim. (original Sport optioned Bronco)

Interior has 0 miles on it, original bucket seats have all been recovered, including arm rests. The door panels are new. Dash pad has been recovered in the same upholstery.

Chrome bumpers are triple nickel plated and are both new.

Grill trim is new, side fender "Sport" trim is new.

Side marker lenses are new.

Truck has a trailer hitch.

Has a good looking four point Roll Bar also. (Smittybilt style)

As far as running and driving, Every time I ever turned the key in this truck, it started up right away. Drove it yesterday and made some heads turn, even had two guys drive back around a second time to say "how beautiful" they thought the truck looked. I've had a very fun and easy time driving it and I hope you do too!

This unique '64 Mustang was Edsel Ford II's first car

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

You probably had the same dream when you were a teenager. Your sixteenth birthday is coming up, or Christmas, or maybe both, and all you want is a muscle car to call your own. That dream has come true for some, and one of them was none other than Edsel Ford II.
Henry Ford's great grandson turned 16 on December 27, 1964 - two days after Christmas and eight months after the original Mustang went on sale. And that's just what was waiting for him in the driveway, courtesy of his father (and reigning chief executive) Henry Ford II.
The specially-prepared pony car had a pearlescent cream paintjob with narrow blue racing stripes, functional hood scoop, chrome trim, Euro-spec fender-mounted mirrors, a blue leather and aluminum interior, a monogrammed fuel cap... and a 289-cubic-inch V8 under the hood.

Ford patents a multi-touch version of its classic keypad

Fri, Sep 9 2016

For decades, Ford has offered a keypad on the doors of their cars that would allow owners access with the right code. Amazingly, the keypad has survived almost unchanged except for a recent touch button version. A new patent from the Blue Oval shows the keypad may get a big upgrade soon. The first big change is that it looks like the keypad may move to the key fob. Although it might be possible to have it on the car itself as well, the patent only seems to focus on the key fob. In addition, the fob will now be a multi-touch pad similar to that of modern smartphones. This will allow for more diverse code entries, according to the patent's description. Instead of just a simple number code, owners could enter a code that involves swipes and keystrokes, and even simultaneous keystrokes. For instance, you could enter a code that requires swiping from 1 to 3, followed by holding 2 and 4 to unlock the car. The patent also seems to indicate that this keypad would then display unlock functions and other functions on the fob after the correct code is entered, thus making it more than just a way to unlock the car. As for the practical implications of this keypad system update, it could provide an added layer of security. If someone steals your keys, they would have to also know your access code to get into the car. Whether this would also help make the key and car harder to hack would remain to be seen, though. Another possible benefit could be the prevention of accidental lock and alarm button presses, although that likely isn't a common issue. There could be potential downsides as well. If used as an extra layer of security, the legitimate owner would have to punch in their code on the fob to get in, which would render proximity key benefits relatively useless. Moving the keypad to the fob would also mean owners couldn't get into their cars without having the key with them. We don't have any clues as to when this could become a feature, but it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to implement, so it could show up in the next few years. Ken Block is at it again in Gymkhana 6

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If there's one thing we'll say about Ken Block and his latest installment in the Gymkhana family, it's that it's far more structured than previous videos, but that doesn't mean it skimps on the entertainment. Block is on a purpose-built course which was touted as "The... Ultimate... Gymkhana... Grid... Course" in last week's preview. Unlike Gymkhana 5, which took placed on closed streets in San Francisco, this course seems much more compact.
Block has an entire array of challenges to tackle in his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST, and none of them look particularly easy. In fact, we'd argue that Gymkhana 6's grid course requires much more precise driving that previous titles. There are Segways, Lamborghinis and massive pieces of construction equipment that all must be dealt with.
We've got the entire 6:28 of Gymkhana madness for you down below. Scroll down for the video and then hit Comments and let us know how this installment compares to previous Block works.
