This was a Gentlemen's retirement project for me and now it's done. I have another one to work on now, so off it goes to a new owner. This truck has it all, and then some. I've spared no expense in getting it the way I wanted it, putting over $8,000.00 in to the project.  I owned a new one in 1996 and wanted to enjoy another one, so I purchased this one.  Redone from front to back with all new part's. Mostly upgraded one's at that. New Black factory paint, over previous factory Black paint. Paint was showing signs of fading. I give the paint job a 8.5 out of a possible 10. It does have some minor small scratches for it is a used truck.  Unlike most Bronco's, this one has no rust issues that I could find.  All doors and window seals have been replaced with new rubber. I replaced the drivers side wing window assembly and glass because it didn't seal correctly. The Tail gate Window was replaced, along with the Window / Tail gate seal's as well.  It wouldn't defrost so out it went and the new one installed. A new and bright LED brake and white light was installed as well. New custom installed high intensity lights in the bumper, along with all new Lens both front and rear. The white headlights look super bright, and with the bumper lights really light up the road. All double and triple fused I might add.  New grill guard just installed, along with a new Windshield and rubber seal.  Truck has a custom Bra on it. All fluids from front to back were just changed, and the Transmission was just serviced. Engine and transmission run strong and smooth, and use's no Oil. I have been able to get almost 15.5 MPG on the Freeway. 4 wheel and 4 wheel low work perfectly and the dash light light's up to indicate so. All new Belt's, new idler arms, new Alternator, new thermostat and new anti-freeze as well, Brand new Costco 800 CCA Battery just installed.  Over sized sway bars front and rear for great flat cornering.  Four new struts up front, with 2 new shocks in the rear. ( all Gabriel ) Front end alignment just done when the Strut's were replaced. This Truck drives as straight as an Arrow when you take your hand's off the Wheel. I put a custom Class III trailer hitch on the truck for towing. This rig could pull a Boat or Trailer with no problem at all! No check engine lights are on!

I put new Rotors and Pad's on at all four wheels. Four new BFG 265 / 70/ R15 M & S tires, and near perfect factory rims with no road rash. Wheel locks for all four tires and the spare, which is close to new as well.  All rims received new center caps and wheel lock's, A new spare tire cover to round out the outside appearance of the truck was put on. Brand new Flowmaster muffler with a polished aluminum tail pipe, which has a great low throaty rumble to it. Not" Kid loud" though!  Locking gas cap for the 32 gallon gas tank. Just installed a water pump as well.  Engine doesn't use or leak Oil, and the motor is super strong with all new plugs, etc. Fuel injection service has been done. Air filter was changed over to a K & N for better breathing. Truck passed Washington state's tough DEQ test with flying colors. Many suspension bushings replaced as well!

The interior is like new, meaning the seat's ( lumbar works ) headliner, door, and the carpet are all in great shape. The door panels as well. Anything that looked worn from age I replaced. All electrical works as it should and the Air is cold. The courtesy lights in the overhead console all work, as does the Compass. I took out the old cassette radio and installed a new high end AM/FM / CD / IPOD / Bluetooth Stereo, I don't have the old radio and it didn't work anyway. All new upgraded top end speakers, with a new 200 Watt Amplifier for incredible sound. While at the Stereo shop, I had a $650.00 Avital Alarm system installed. Put a kill-switch in as well. Back side windows had been tinted for privacy, and the back seat look's like no one has ever sat in it.  The stereo is set up for a phone with a mic, and along with the Ipod Classic sit's in a factory cut out in the lower dash. I just put on the new chrome wheel lip's yesterday so no dings yet. I have two front fender Bronco plaques ( Eddie Bauer ) but haven't put them on. Present one's are good. but these look newer. I replaced most badges with new one's, and added a few new one's as well, ie; Eddie Bauer on the Tail Gate, 5.8 Litre on Tailgate ( lower left )  4 X 4 on front lower drivers side, and a 5.8 on the front passenger side..

For the BIN buyer, I will throw in a top end Magellan GPS and a new high quality Eddie Bauer Carpet kit ( $650.00 ).  Kit covers the front seat area, back seat area, and the storage carpet area including the wheel bumps.  As I said, the carpet doesn't need replacing at all, but I thought down the road it might so bought the carpet kit  .In addition I will fill the trucks gas tank with Gas for you. Truck comes with all Book's, Brochures and receipts, You get a Chilton's repair manual for the truck as well.  I have the clear title to the truck.  I've done so much to the Bronco, I can't even remember everything.  This Bronco is a Classic and will only go up in value, so buy it and enjoy it as it does!  I'm located in the Portland Oregon metro area about 15 minutes from the Portland Airport if you want to fly in and drive the Bronco home. I welcome a PPI on the Bronco if you have any doubt's about the quality of the Truck

This Bronco need's nothing but someone to enjoy it. Be it on road or off road!  Additional photos available upon request,  You won't find another Bronco in the shape this one is in.  It may have 100,171 on the Clock, but look, drives, and feel's like a brand new one!

Do you guys like trucks?

Wed, Jan 17 2018

Do you guys like trucks? If the answer is yes, boy do we have the show for you! The 2018 North American International Auto Show is lousy with 'em. Yeah, we saw the new Ram 1500, Chevy Silverado and Ford Ranger, but that's just scratching the surface. There are big trucks, little trucks, clean trucks, dirty trucks, old trucks, new trucks, red trucks, blue trucks. It's like a Dr. Seuss book. Anyway, we made a little video for you truck nuts (see what I did there?). Check it out above, and if you're looking for more serious coverage of the Detroit Auto Show, we've got it, along with a ton of images and other videos from the show floor. Enjoy! Ford worker files for UAW dues refund, stirs right-to-work debate

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Let's start with some history: Ford's Dearborn truck plant, part of the company's massive River Rouge complex, was the center of a strike in 1941 that led to Ford signing the first "closed shop" agreement in the industry. The agreement obliged every worker at the plant to be a dues-paying member of the United Auto Workers. In December 2012, however, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation making Michigan a right-to-work state, which outlawed closed shops. The new law gave workers the right to opt out of union membership and stop paying dues even if they were still covered by union activities like collective bargaining. For employees at the Dearborn plant, the right-to-work clauses take effect at the end of their current contract in 2015.
As a tool-and-die maker at Ford's Dearborn plant for 16 years, Todd Lemire pays dues to the UAW - about two hours' salary per month. However, he's been unhappy with the UAW's support of the Democratic party, and not wanting to wait until next year to be out of the UAW entirely he invoked his Beck Rights, which state that a non-member of a union does not have to pay dues to support non-core activities, such as political spending. But Lemire wasn't happy that Ford still subtracted the total amount of dues, with the UAW reimbursing the difference, so he filed suit with the National Labor Relations Board, feeling that the workaround violates his rights.
Lemire's case is just a week old, so it could be a while before a resolution. Yet, as September 15, 2015 draws near and the right-to-work laws take full effect for Michigan workers - and others wonder whether it could help revitalize the state's manufacturing base - a case like this adds more fuel to the discussion.

Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
