www Up for auction we have a 1979 FORD BRONCO RANGER truck for sale. Please read entire AD, this is actually for two Broncos! Overall the truck is very nice for its age and runs and drives well. The truck is equipped with the 351M engine and automatic transmission with four wheel drive. The odometer shows 84,971 miles, the title shows exemt, so Im not sure if its true miles or not. The interior is good, the door and dash have brown paint on them, they probably should be green to look right. The truck was originaly orange,in color. The body does have some rust areas, the worst is in the Pass. side lower door jamb area, as shown in the pictures. Also some bubbling over the Pass. side rear wheel, over the pass. side door window, and a little in the drivers door jamb. The frame, mounts and floor all look pretty good. Mechanically, the only thing, other than a tune up, carb. cleaning, would be that it does not want to engage in the 4x4 LO position, it doesnt want to snap in and engage,it was that way when I got it, and I didnt get to go further with it. The tires have a lot of tread, but are aggressive, and I personally wouldnt want them on it for normal driving. The rear tailgate was replaced, and I havent seen any rust on it,but the window currently doesnt go down on it. The winning bidder gets a 1979 Bronco 4 speed parts truck with,if desired,if not wanted,I can deduct $500.00 from the winning bid price. If there is anything major wrong with the transfer case, those parts would be on that truck. I have driven the truck on my property, but not on the road for long periods, the truck seems good. The truck sells AS-IS, delivery possible, contact seller for details, Buyer will need to meet with seller to transfer title ownership papers at pickup. I have driven the truck about 10 miles today,it drives OK, the gas guage doesnt work, and the steering box is worn,so the steering isnt tight, but I have a better one to go on the vehicle.

Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit can haul on the track

Tue, 19 Aug 2014

Line up any two comparable vehicles, and eople are going to want to race them. Need proof? In its latest track battle, Auto Express wants to know which commercial vehicle can lap a circuit faster - a Ford Transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Let's face it, neither of these European vans were ever meant to be near the track unless they are delivering a racecar and a ton of parts for a fun weekend, but it's massively fun to watch them give it a go anyway.
The one thing that Auto Express really illustrates here is the modern marvel that is stability control. The driver hops curves, and these big vans lean in the corners like your friend walking home from a long night at the bar. However, because of the amazing stability systems, the vans mostly keep all of their wheels planted and never seem close to getting sloppy, despite their behemoth size.
Unfortunately, the two vans aren't exactly fairly paired. The Ford has a dual rear axle and a few other advantages over the Mercedes, but it's still hilarious to watch them go. Even better, the host breaks down everything happening behind the wheel like these commercial vehicles were two Porsches. Enjoy watching this very unorthodox battle between Ford and Mercedes.
