Thinning out the herd. 1978 Ford Bronco XLT 400 Automatic 4 wheel drive. This Bronco came from North Carolina. The floor pans are excellant original rust free. This Bronco was profesionally painted at my Body shop with a base coat clear coat finish. The only rust was on the right door tailgate and a little above the left rear wheel well and all were replaced with new panels. Allso replaced were lower race track moulding, bumpers, grille and grille shell. Rear window motor and regulator as well as wiring harness and works as it should. The inside was refinished as well. A new dash pad door panels as well as an all new custom interior and all new weatherstrips. The factory roll bar was powder coated an reinstalled.The front factory push bar was allso powder coated but i elected not to put it back on, but comes with the sale. This vehicle runs excellant and shifts as it should. The ac is all there but will need some work to get it going. I installed new brakes. It has Mickey Thompson wheels that are in good condition. The tires have good tread left to them but the side walls do have some small cracking. The engine compartment needs detailing as well as the under side. I dont believe you will find one any nicer. Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans over fuel tank woes
Mon, 18 Jul 2011Ford has announced through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is recalling nearly 3,000 examples of its Five Hundred and Mercury Montego (pictured) sedans from the 2007 model year.
The action, which affects 2,945 vehicles, is due to potentially defective welds between the filler neck and the fuel tank, a condition that could result in a fuel leak or the smell of gasoline reaching the occupants. In the worst-case scenario, a leak could cause a fire. Cars with the affected fuel tank problem could see an illuminated dashboard warning light as a result of the evaporative emissions leak being detected.
Ford will inspect and replace the fuel tank at no cost to owners (those who have already had the procedure done at-cost can apply for reimbursement), and the Dearborn automaker will begin notifying Five Hundred and Montego owners beginning August 15. More evidence GT500-replacement will be named GT350
Tue, 17 Dec 2013During the recent unveiling of the 2015 Ford Mustang, we saw the car in both V6 and GT form, but we'll have to wait a little bit longer to see the successor to the Shelby GT500. In the meantime, though, it looks like SVTPerformance.com has confirmed reports that this high-performance model will bring the Shelby GT350 name back to Ford.
According to the forum post, a user found the Shelby GT350 name on a Ford promo website listing its 2015 lineup. The Shelby GT350 name was first used on a Mustang back in 1965, and most recently it has been a model created for customers as a post-title purchase by Shelby American. As for that car, Shelby confirmed earlier in the year that its GT350 would be phased out at the end of this month.
The million-dollar question for Mustang and Shelby enthusiasts is when we'll see next factory Shelby GT350. Last we heard it was planned for a debut at the New York Auto Show. We spy the Ford Mustang King Cobra early at SEMA
Tue, 04 Nov 2014As is the case with most auto shows, waiting for the reveal of hot new models is the worst part. So, while our own Drew Phillips has been wandering the halls here in Las Vegas since they unlocked the doors for SEMA 2014, we didn't expect him to come back with any big reveals until later in the day. Until this happened.
Meandering by the Ford stand, Phillips eagle-eyed a trunk lid that caught his attention. Popping out from an otherwise draped 2015 Mustang, the matte black lid clearly has the name King Cobra embossed on the rear.
That name is interesting for a few reasons: to start, Ford hasn't used the Cobra name (without "Jet" attached) since way back in 2004, so a new snake is certainly something to take note of. Second, the King Cobra name dates all the way back to the ill-remembered Mustang II, meaning there is a clear link to Blue Oval history here.
