1978 Ford Bronco on 2040-cars

Year:1978 Mileage:72000
Location:

So...this 1978 Ford Bronco is that one owner 72,000 mile Bronco you could only hope to find.  It was ordered back East by the original owner and brought out to Portland, OR in 1982 and has lived her since in an inside storage inviroment.  The original owners wife donated it when her husband became ill.  I was fortunate enough to be able to obtain it.  I have been hunting for Bronco's as a hobby for years.   I travel for work and for me, it is all about the hunt to find these Bronco's in great condition because most of them have been around the mountain a time or two.  I have talked to the original owners wife and can put you in touch with her.
The Interior in this Bronco is a 9 out of 10, only because one can always find something wrong with anything.  Factory black and silver Vinyl seats.  Factory roll bar and air conditioning.  The only the thing the interior does not have is tilt wheel and cruise control.  All gauges and instruments work as new.  Factory AM//FM Stereo.   When you take this out of park to drive it feels as though the linkage isn't  even connected because of the newness of the Bronco.  When you unlock the doors with a key you can feel the mechanism is still greased from factory, nice and smooth.  It is simply impresseve.  Looking under the dash all moldings and carpet are as new.  Closing the doors is a simple click and they latch.  The original owner has added those "old man" add ons. Air pump with air horn under the hood (not working). Fog light for backing up and indicating lights so if your lights are on you are aware of it.
Factory push bar with factory fog lights.  Double Shocks, Dual exhaust, headers and tow hitch.  This is a trailer special from the Factory,  therefor it has an oil bath air cleaner and an added oil transmission cooler.  The Bronco sat for 3 years.  I installed a new fuel pump and have I have been smiling every since because driving this Bronco reflects is mileage and condition.  The paint is original and the patina on the paint is somewhat confusing because above the molding it is faded but will easily rub out and shine.  I can't bring myself to doing that because of the originality of the Bronco.  The hood is faded in spots to the underprimer.  All chrome molding, grill, headlight rings and chrome bumpers are outstanding.  A rare thing in itself.  The chrome window gimp molding is in unbelievable condition.  There are brand new 33.1250.15 BFG All Terrain's that I have put on the Bronco.  Unfortunately, the 10 X 15 Aluminum slots are new wheels from 1978 that I can not replace, therefor I am keeping them.  In place I have 10 X 15 chrome spokes that are in outstanding condition.  (can submit photos if needed)  This is that rare one owner Bronco with original miles.  Believe me there will be no disappointments with this Bronco.
If you have any questions please contact me.

********Check my my feedback and you will see the prior Bronco's I have sold have had 100% feedback************

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

Ford debuts Fusion NASCAR racer that edges closer to stock [w/video]

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

The sixth-generation NASCAR Sprint Cup racecar, which will make its competition debut at the 2013 Daytona 500 this weekend, marks the closest thing to a "stock car" that the sport has seen in more than 20 years. No longer using just stickers to distinguish the different brands, the image above shows the lengths NASCAR and automakers went in order to create a racecar design that more closely resembles the individual cars they represent.
Ford, one of the more open and vocal OEMs regarding the Gen6 car's development, is giving us a closer look at its racing version of the Fusion with a pretty revealing side-by-side comparison with last years' racer (click above for an expanded view). Aside from the more realistic front end and production-like body lines, the overall shape, dimensions and proportions have also been designed to give the racecar a more stock appearance. Most of the new racer was designed by the Ford Design Center, which the automaker says was the first time it has been so involved in the design process since the 1960s. Of course, one area the Sprint Cup Fusion really differs from the production Fusion is its Ford Racing 5.8-liter V8 producing around 850 hp. Can you say Fusion SVT?

Ken Block is at it again in Gymkhana 6

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If there's one thing we'll say about Ken Block and his latest installment in the Gymkhana family, it's that it's far more structured than previous videos, but that doesn't mean it skimps on the entertainment. Block is on a purpose-built course which was touted as "The... Ultimate... Gymkhana... Grid... Course" in last week's preview. Unlike Gymkhana 5, which took placed on closed streets in San Francisco, this course seems much more compact.
Block has an entire array of challenges to tackle in his 650-horsepower Ford Fiesta ST, and none of them look particularly easy. In fact, we'd argue that Gymkhana 6's grid course requires much more precise driving that previous titles. There are Segways, Lamborghinis and massive pieces of construction equipment that all must be dealt with.
We've got the entire 6:28 of Gymkhana madness for you down below. Scroll down for the video and then hit Comments and let us know how this installment compares to previous Block works.
