1977 Bronco

This is a 1977 Ford Bronco truck in the body style that produced 1966-1977, it is the of the jeep style small bodied Broncos and considered by far to be the best year.  It is very hard to a '77 model for sale and I wish I did not need to sell this one.  I have had it in my collection for a long time.

1977 was the only small Bronco with fuel cap doors versus prominate fuel caps.  This bronco has dual fuel tanks and they do not leak and I have noticed no rust in the fuel.

This bronco is equipped with a 302 and automatic transmission.  The engine exhaust, and upgraded sspension were installed I believe at the same time.  This was about 4 years ago if what I was told is correct.  It has a 4" suspension lift on front (new springs) and a 2" leveling block in the rear.

The motor runs quiet, no exhaust leaks and very smooth (perfectly balanced), no vibrations.  The automatic trans works better than the original and the throttle kick down rod which operates what is called passing gear is correctly installed.

It has headers that are high quality with thick flanges and dual exhaust with very mellow, nearly quiet exhaust.

1977 used stronger front axles than the earlier broncos and it has disk brakes.  The front axle is a dana 44 and rear axle is a ford 9".  The gear ratio is 3.50 in the front and 3L50 in the rear.  The L means factory limited slip axle.

This bronco has power disk brakes, power steering, and a heavy duty front sway bar.  It has aftermarket A/C and needs to be recharged.

I believe the aluminum wheels came on this bronco in '77, I know this wheels were on '77-'78 F-150s.  The tires are in good shape and I would say with about 50% of tread left.

The head liner is sagging and needs some attention or replaced, the overhead wiper motor cover is missing as is the weather stripping between the windshield and convertible top.

All three of these problems are very easy to fix and I have a nearly endless supply of these parts readily avaliable.  There is however, a small rust hole in the passenger side door jam by a factory weld about half the size of a dime.  Also the underside of the hood needs to be painted orange which I am supposed to do next week (my friend thought it would look better black without asking me).

I hate putting this bronco up for auction with these minor imperfections, but I simply do not have the time to fix them right now.

This bronco is not a ten but I am not asking a ridiculous price either.  I hope someone that has always wanted a nice bronco for a fair price can have their dream come true.

This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early at anytime for any reason.

Feel free to contact me for any questions you may have or make any reasonable offer.

2016 Ford Focus RS mule spotted on US soil

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Okay Ford, this is what we like to see. One of our intrepid spy photographers has captured a vehicle that we weren't even sure would see the light of day - the next Focus RS. While this is pretty clearly a mule based on the current Focus ST, as our spy points out, there are a number of giveaways about this hot hatch's true nature.
Indication number one that all is not right with this Focus is the heavily camo'd front fascia, which has been completely reconfigured for duty on the RS. It boasts significantly larger grilles that are meant to accommodate what is likely the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder that's destined for the 2015 Ford Mustang. Considering that, then, we can expect around 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque from the hottest of Foci, although it's entirely possible that the production model could climb even higher, to around 330 hp.
The front fascia tweaks are complemented in the back by a modified rear bumper, which fails at hiding a pair of exhaust tips quite unlike the standard Focus ST's center-exit exhaust. Other obvious changes include the wheel/tire/brake package on this particular car. Larger 19-inch wheels are shod in super-sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 235/35/19 while the brakes feature what we think are four-piston calipers, possibly from Brembo, up front.

Ford worker files for UAW dues refund, stirs right-to-work debate

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Let's start with some history: Ford's Dearborn truck plant, part of the company's massive River Rouge complex, was the center of a strike in 1941 that led to Ford signing the first "closed shop" agreement in the industry. The agreement obliged every worker at the plant to be a dues-paying member of the United Auto Workers. In December 2012, however, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation making Michigan a right-to-work state, which outlawed closed shops. The new law gave workers the right to opt out of union membership and stop paying dues even if they were still covered by union activities like collective bargaining. For employees at the Dearborn plant, the right-to-work clauses take effect at the end of their current contract in 2015.
As a tool-and-die maker at Ford's Dearborn plant for 16 years, Todd Lemire pays dues to the UAW - about two hours' salary per month. However, he's been unhappy with the UAW's support of the Democratic party, and not wanting to wait until next year to be out of the UAW entirely he invoked his Beck Rights, which state that a non-member of a union does not have to pay dues to support non-core activities, such as political spending. But Lemire wasn't happy that Ford still subtracted the total amount of dues, with the UAW reimbursing the difference, so he filed suit with the National Labor Relations Board, feeling that the workaround violates his rights.
Lemire's case is just a week old, so it could be a while before a resolution. Yet, as September 15, 2015 draws near and the right-to-work laws take full effect for Michigan workers - and others wonder whether it could help revitalize the state's manufacturing base - a case like this adds more fuel to the discussion.

2014 Ford Transit unveiled in Chassis Cab and Cutaway versions

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.
