You are viewing a rare 1976 original uncut Ford Bronco. I bought this Bronco 5 years ago from the second owner in Western Pennsylvania. It sat in his garage/barn and rarely used. I tried to buy it for years and to make a long story short...I got it. I'm now entertaining the idea of selling it but not thrilled about it. Job is relocating us to Virginia and I have been paying tons of money to keep this bronco indoors while my time in NYC. When I purchased the Bronco, I had the fuel lines and rear/main tank system removed and replaced. All new brakes disc and drum. Motor completely gone through and replaced most if not all seals/gaskets. New tires, shocks, struts, and dual pipes. Motor valve covers repainted to original ford blue. The Bronco runs great, drives great, steers awesome (power steering) and looks cool. Lot's of attention no doubt. To bring this Bronco to the next level, body work/paint (back to the special decor group package would be my suggestion) new original seat covers, new auxiliary tank, and determine small oil leak. All this was and still is my plan if she does not find a new home. Rust repair will be needed at some point under the driver door. Not visible until you look underneath. This is an original 1976 Bronco so please be aware that there are possibilities of rust and etc. The paint is not that great...the second owner tells me that the original owner sprayed over the original blue and white strips (Special Decor Group Package) which is a complete shame. You can visibly still see the cool white strips when you open the hood and door jambs. The current paint is decent in pictures and 10 feet away but if you are looking for something above that, then please understand this is not it. I personally have enjoyed this Bronco as is for the last 5 years and hate to part with it but the move, wife, and child....well lets just say it's not priority right now. I will regret it later, especially if someone restores her back to the white stripe Special Decor Group. I encourage you to research this rare option. As for price, please do not offer me some ridiculous low price. If you are in the market for a rare uncut original 1976 Bronco then you already know they are not cheap. I'm in no rush to sell it and it will be sold to the highest bidder. Will not sell before end of auction. I will absolutely assist with any pick up for this Bronco and accommodate any requests to view it. Good luck...

'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia

Fri, Jan 16 2015

These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models. 2013 Ford Explorer Sport

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

When one speaks of sporty and fun-to-drive utility vehicles, few would put the Ford Explorer in the same category as the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne. Yet, with just a few reservations, I'd toss the new-for-2013 Ford Explorer Sport close to that arena for consideration.
As a recap, the sportiest of Explorers is fitted with Ford's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, making 365 horsepower and 350 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is brisk (figure about 7 seconds to 60 miles per hour), as power goes to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to its more athletic demeanor are larger front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, chassis upgrades, quicker steering ratio and a more aggressive wheel/tire package. Cosmetically, the Sport is distinguished by its blacked-out lights, black trim and noticeable lack of chrome (with the exception of the door handles).
Ford recently handed me the keys to a Ruby Red Metallic Explorer Sport. Rather than mindlessly drive the big seven-passenger all-wheel drive hauler in soccer mom circles around Los Angeles, I loaded up my family and embarked on a long weekend road trip to Yosemite National Park.

2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Power Stroke

Tue, 29 Jul 2014

What weighs 30,000 pounds? Big Ben's Westminster bell. A navy ship anchor. Or as we found out during our first drive program for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty, seven pallets of cinder blocks loaded onto a dual-axle gooseneck trailer. The test was part of a raft of towing demonstrations that showcased the new Super Duty's impressive tug capacity, which maxes out at 32,100 pounds. That's 1,200 more than its nearest rival, the Ram 3500, when equipped with its upgraded 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel V8. Such is the heavy-duty pickup truck business, a diesel-fueled game of one-upmanship with only three players: Ford, Chevrolet/GMC and Ram. And in this game, the one with the most torque wins.
Until 2014, Ford was the one to beat, with its 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel bringing 400 hp and a massive 800 lb-ft of torque to the table. Then last year, Ram did exactly that, serving Ford with a beefed-up Cummins turbodiesel inline-six in its freshened Ram Heavy Duty truck line with 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to tow up to 30,000 pounds. But Ford claims it had designed its engine to be relatively easy to upgrade when the time called for it, so for 2015, Ford bolted a larger turbo to the Power Stroke, bringing output to an insane 440 hp and 860 lb-ft of twist, all without reducing fuel efficiency. Maximum tow capacity rises from 24,700 lbs to an incredible 31,200 lbs for the F-450 dually.
As for GM's HDs? They lag behind the lot with their 6.6-liter Duramax V-8, producing 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, you know things are serious when the trucks with 765 lb-ft are the knock-kneed wimps of the lot.
