1975 Ford Bronco Sport on 2040-cars
Kinston, North Carolina, United States
1975 Ford Bronco Sport. The Bronco just underwent an extensive restoration and is in excellent
condition. The rust that existed was either cut out and patched or the entire sheet metal was removed and replaced (i.e. floors, wheel tubs, etc.). The underbody was sanded down and fully coated.
This is a low mileage example with only +/-75,000 ORIGINAL miles. There have been less than 100 miles added since
completion of the restoration.
The truck is sporting a 6 inch Wild Horses suspension lift and it has NO BODY LIFT, ALL SUSPENSION. It rides
surprisingly smooth with the coils for as big as it is... It sits on 37" tires that are basically brand new (they
still have the nipples ... not the little ones either, these nipples are straight out of national geographic)
The truck is powered by a strong running 302 motor that was rebuilt years ago. I added an additional accessory fan
to help cool the motor on those hot days and it has a nice dual exhaust so you can still hear this puppy purr over
the wind whistlin' in your ears
Power is put to the mud/trail/asphalt eating monster tires via a rebuilt C4 Automatic transmission through a
Cheetah SCS shifter. The truck has a new transfer case as well.
There are 2 fuel tanks (a primary and an auxiliary) as well as a switch for the driver to change tanks in case one
runs out. Both are run by independent electric fuel pumps, wired to the ignition. The rear tank was replaced during
the restoration and the auxiliary tank is a newer plastic unit, so no issues or long-term concerns for rust! It's
like double-fisting fun... When one side's out, just switch to the other and keep on keepin' on!!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]
Sat, 18 Jan 2014We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.
2015 Ford F-150 appearance guide takes the truck from mild to wild with options
Thu, 31 Jul 2014We already know that the 2015 Ford F-150 has a base price coming in at just $395 more than the 2014 model, despite all of the new standard tech and aluminum-intensive construction in the upcoming version. Now the Blue Oval is finally giving us an idea of what that extra money actually buys customers, with the release of the appearance guide for its latest pickup.
The guide basically explains everything you could want to know about what changes occur among the multitude of trims on the 2015 F-150. There are five levels for the new truck. Although, that is something of a misnomer because most of them are also available with either Sport or Chrome packages, plus the FX4 Off-Road option with Hill Descent Control, an electronic-locking rear axle, off-road shocks and skid plates. With 13 available colors, including 4 new ones, and 14 wheel designs in various sizes, pickup buyers should have no problem specing one to fit their style.
The lineup starts out with the base XL with a black grille and fascia and 17-inch wheels. However, across most of the range the Sport and Chrome packages are also available to add either body-color or chrome accents, respectively. Next up is the XLT with a standard chrome grille but also available with a black, billet-style one with a body-color surround. Things really start getting plush with the Lariat model with leather trim, a three-bar front end and 18-inch wheels. The King Ranch sticks with that look but adds power running boards, 20-inch wheels and two-tone paint. Finally, the top-dog Platinum is all about bling with yet another frontal design, chrome door handles and mirror caps, a big logo running across the tailgate and more.
2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]
Thu, 26 Jun 2014With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.
