1974 Ford Bronco Explorer on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
1974 Ford Bronco 4X4 Ranger
This Bronco is claimed to be a one family owned vehicle that has spent almost it's entire life in northern Arizona. It was purchased new as a motor home tow-behind and was used for that purpose from new until 2011. It then went to Southern California where it had a carburetor fire in mid 2012 and was brought back to Arizona at that time. After repairing the wiring that was damaged and replacing the carburetor the vehicle is a runner-driver again. Much of the under hood plastic was damaged or deformed by the carb fire. An original 302 V8 with automatic vehicle with part time 4 wheel drive with warn hubs, the engine runs well- no ticking or knocking- and the trans shifts tight and smooth. It does leak oil. The transfer case and hubs seem to work well and both axles appear to be in good shape. The body is original and uncut with some dents and possible partial paint work in different areas- most notable being the right front fender damage. Most of the paint and trim appear to be original and the top does not look like it ever came off the vehicle. It has the Explorer option with chrome bumpers and trim as well as power steering, but no power brakes. It looks to have the original interior- with original rear seat- that needs to be redone, and it will need the windshield replaced. The only rust indicated is minor bubbling on the inner wheel housings under the hood on both sides and the under hood vent intake on passenger's side (see pics). Floors, rockers-virtually everything else looks to be rust free. All in all, a great original example for a restoration or just shape up what is here and use it as an original. The vehicle is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. It is also available for inspection locally in Phoenix, Arizona. Please contact me to schedule an inspection or if you need any additional pictures or information. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding! |

Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.
Tanner Foust gets eponymous hotted-up Ford Focus ST from Cobb Tuning
Thu, 14 Mar 2013Racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust has partnered up with Cobb Tuning to create a special-edition Ford Focus ST. The limited-edition hatches will come packing a reflashed ECU, special intercooler, tweaked intake and freer-flowing exhaust for up to 20 percent more power than the stock creation. Cobb says that the changes should push the final dyno figure to above 300 horsepower. Buyers can also expect to find special carbon fiber aerodynamic bits on board along with a new grille, graphics and wheels. Cobb hasn't released pricing on this Tanner Foust Edition Ford Focus ST as of yet, but you can bet the whole kit won't be cheap.
Fortunately, the company will sell you bits and pieces from the overall package for your Ford, and word has it engineers are also whipping up a Foust Fiesta ST. Look for Cobb's Focus ST website to go live next month, complete with accurate specs and pricing. Until then, enjoy clicking through the gallery here.
