ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This 1973 Ford Bronco Sport has just been through an extensive cosmetic restoration and thorough mechanical service -- it shows and drives beautifully and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. The truck was recently repainted in correct Bahama Blue (very similar to the ever-popular Grabber Blue); the fender flares and hard top are Wimbledon White. Paint quality is excellent; panels are very straight with good gaps. The hard top, glass and trim were pulled for paint; seals and weatherstripping are new. The fender flares were also removed for paint; flares are brand new with correct welt between the flares and the body. The overall result is an exceptionally clean truck with no overspray, tape marks, etc. Most of the brightwork is new -- including bumpers, headlight rings, door handles, mirrors and tailgate latch. Sport trim is in very good original condition. Brand new BF Goodrich 31x10.50 all-terrain tires on Ford alloy wheels complete the look. It's a great looking truck, inside and out. No known rust issues topside or underneath.

The interior shows very nicely. Carpet is brand new; seats are in good condition. A factory AM radio is in the dash preserving the classic Early Bronco look; this truck would be a great candidate for a locking center console with a modern stereo -- we are happy to discuss installation and pricing options.

Under the hood is a 302 cubic inch V8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission. All tune-up and service items are up to date; the truck starts and runs very well, and the clutch, gearbox and shift linkages are functioning normally. Options include both power steering and power disc brakes (which are brand new); both the steering and brakes feel great. Exhaust is also newer. A modest 2.5" suspension lift gives the truck a great stance while still maintaining good on-road manners.

Ford Police Interceptors win acceleration war against Dodge, Chevy

Thu, 17 Oct 2013

Just last month, Ford announced its first-ever non-pursuit-rated version of the Police Interceptor sedan for agencies looking to maximize fuel economy, but that doesn't mean that Ford is giving up on chasing down the bad guys. While the Dodge Charger can lay claim to the fastest lap time at the Grattan Raceway test facility held by the Michigan State Police, the results are now in for the Police Vehicle Evaluation acceleration tests. And Ford's Police Interceptor duo (sedan and utility) came out on top.
In the acceleration tests, Ford says that the Taurus-based PI Sedan with the newly available 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 was the quickest among prospective police cars in both 0-60 and 0-100 mile per hour times. The sedan posted a 0-60 time of 5.66 seconds with all-wheel drive and 5.71 seconds with front-wheel drive, besting V8-powered competitors like the Chevy Caprice and Dodge Charger by more than 0.3 seconds. These rivals close the gap on the AWD sedan in the 0-100 test with the Ford taking 13.5 seconds compared to the Chevy's time of 14.35 and the Dodge's time of 14.7.
As for utility vehicles, the Explorer-based PI Utility, which accounts for 60 percent of Ford's police vehicle sales, essentially went head-to-head with the V8-powered Chevy Tahoe with similar results. Equipped with the new EcoBoost engine option, this big SUV hit 60 mph in just 6.28 seconds and 100 mph in 15.51 seconds compared to times of 8.22 seconds and 21.95 seconds, respectively, for the Tahoe. Other important tests in the PVE include braking and top speed, but while no automakers have stepped up to boast about their numbers in either of these categories, Ford's images show that the V8 Caprice had the highest top speed of the cars at 155 mph while the Tahoe's 139-mph speed made it the fastest utility vehicle.

TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.
Warning: There is explicit, not-safe-for-work language in the video below.
