1973 Early Ford Bronco, 1/2 Cab Pickup Top, Uncut Fenders, V-8, Automatic, Ps on 2040-cars

Year:1973 Mileage:70700 Color: The Bronco was repainted at one time in the original candy apple red color
Location:

This is a nice uncut 1973 Ford Bronco with the 1/2 cab pickup top on it. It is a nice running and driving Bronco. Starts right up, idles well, and goes down the road nice and straight. It has had some upgrades done to it which I will explain. This Bronco has not been off-roaded or beat on, it is a pretty stock unmolested original truck, other than the upgrades. Everything works on this vehicle, it is ready to drive and enjoy. This was originally a full top Bronco that was changed over to a half cab. It could very easily be changed back to the full top bronco. Nothing was welded, altered, filled in, or anything of that nature to prevent it from being changed back. Sorry I do not have a full top for it.

ENGINE:

Ford 302 V-8, pretty much stock to the best of my knowledge. It has an OEM Ford 2-barrel Motorcraft carburetor with the kickdown lever on it for the trans. The motor carries 40 psi oil pressure idling warm, and 50 psi running down the road. Motor does have a small oil leak from either the rear main, or pan gaskets. It’s not a huge leak that pours out, but it is there. Both the motor and carb have the factory I.D. tags on them.

TRANSMISSION / TRANSFERCASE:

C-4 automatic transmission shifts good and the kickdown from the carb works properly when applied. The transmission shifter is up on the steering column right the factory and shifts smooth without issues or slop in the collar like some do. The transfer case is a Dana 20 gear drive in good working order. The t-case has the reverse “J” pattern shifter that shifts through all the ranges with ease.

AXLES / SUSPENSION:

Dana 44 front axle, drum brakes, 3.54 gears, open diff. Ford 9” rear axle, 3.50 gears, Factory Trac-Loc Posi unit, big bearing housing. Rear axle is the heavier 3300 lbs. Load and has the axle code of B9 for the Trac-Loc posi. Both axles are pretty much stock, other than having brake work done, and routine maintenance performed. Bearings, seals, ball joints, u-joints , and tie rods are all in good working order. This Bronco has a Wild Horse 2 - 2 1/2” soft ride lift kit on it with all leaf springs in the back, NO blocks. Also has Skyjacker Nitro 8000 gas shocks with urethane bushings. The radius arm bushings (both “C” and stud end) as well as track bar bushings have all been replaced with urethane ones. Driveshaft’s are good and tight, not sloppy, they have been serviced as well.

INTERIOR:

The interior has the original parchment (off-white) bucket seats that are in real good shape. No tears or rips in them. The black carpet and parchment/woodgrain door panels are brand new! The dash pad is not cracked or warped. No extra drill holes or anything like that on the dash. It does have the original AM radio that even works! All gauges, speedometer, wipers, and heater controls all work good. Has a light shade on tint on the side windows and back window. Newer upper door seals installed as well.

EXTERIOR:

The Bronco was repainted at one time in the original candy apple red color. The top is the original wimbledon white in color, and has be repainted in the last couple years. It is a respectable paint job, but it is not flawless. It does have some lights scratches and some chips in it that have been touched up. There is one small dent in the drivers front fender in front of the wheel well opening, nothing real bad or big. There has been some repairs under the hood on the aprons by the firewall. (see pics) The seams on the floor boards where it ramps up to the toe board are broke loose. Someone prior to me have installed a small piece of metal on the bottom side. Original floor boards are still all there and intact. Overall floor are very solid, but not perfect. Drivers door post has had some repair to it. Both doors open and close good. Overall the body is quite solid. All moldings/chrome are in decent shape, not all pitted or dinged up. Both front and rear bumpers are brand new.

OTHER / MISC.:

Tires are near new P265-75R-15 (31 X 10.50) Cooper Discoverer HT’s, mounted on 15 X 8 Mickey Thompson aluminum modular wheels. Wheels are near new as well and in very nice shape. Bronco has a real new exhaust system on it. It is a two into one Pro Flow muffler with aluminized pipe, sounds nice, not too loud but a nice rumble under load. The Bronco has factory power steering that works great. It has the original jack in the factory plastic bag, jack handle, and tire iron all under the hood in their factory location. The battery and starter solenoid are fairly new as well. All glass including the windshield is in nice shape with chips or cracks. Both door locks are matched to the ignition key and all work properly. I believe the bearing on the waterpump is starting to go out making a little noise, but it is not leaking. Bronco shows 70,700 miles on it, I believe it to be original and accurate.

I have taken some time to write this description and details to the best of my knowledge. Yes the Bronco does need a few minor things, but nothing big or show stoppers. You could drive this Bronco home if you wish to. It has not been fully restored, it is not flawless, but a respectable Bronco. This is a very good running and driving bronco. I get compliments on it everywhere I go and it has been very reliable and has never left me stranded. The engine bay has not been fogged with a black spray can like allot of Broncos out there, it is pretty clean and shows its original status. Finding Early Ford Broncos with original uncut rear quarters and fenders are not getting any easier to find.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping/transportation costs. I can have it shipped right to your doorstep if needed. I will make my schedule flexible for pickup of the Bronco when needed, and assist in loading. A United States Post Office Money Order of $1,000.00 for a deposit must be received within 48 hours after the auction closes. The deposit is NON-Refundable. Standard money orders, cashier’s checks, and bank checks NOT accepted. Cash is always welcomed. The remainder of payment for the Bronco must be a wire transfer to my bank, or cash in person. Full payment of the remainder balance is due 7 days after close of auction. I will not release the Bronco or title until paid in full. Bronco must be picked up within three weeks after auction closes. Please do not bid on the Bronco if you don't have the funds to pay for it or if you don't plan on taking it if your the high bidder. This is a used vehicle that is sold "as is" with no guarantee or warrantee expressed or implied. I have a great track record on Ebay with 100% feedback rate, I feel I do good honest business. Good luck, and happy bidding!

This Bronco is NOT being driven in the Michigan Winter! It was backed out of the heated barn for the pictures only.

New Forza 6 car pack will let you race the Pontiac Aztek

Fri, Jan 29 2016

Just in time for this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the new Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One lets you slip into the driver's seat of last year's winner. If you want to take something much weirder for a spin, the collection also includes a 2005 Pontiac Aztek. The download is available now for $6.99. The Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona was in a four-car battle early in last year's race, but it eventually was victorious. Forza Motorsport 6 also challenges drivers who download the car to a new Rivals event around Daytona, and the fastest people could win Alpinestars prizes. If you're nostalgic for a classic Daytona racecar, this pack includes Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7. The V8-powered beast won the IMSA GTO class in the 24-hour event in 1990. It should be fun around the game's longer road courses like Road Atlanta. This collection also has an eclectic mix of vehicles that aren't racecars. The controversial Aztek and the equally-controversial 1996 Subaru SVX take their places beside a lineup that offers drivers three eras of performance cars – a 1967 Sunbeam Tiger, 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5, and 1992 Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifoglio Verde. The video below shows all of them in action. Race to the Finish Line with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6 By Xbox Wire Staff posted on January 27, 2016 at 8:00 am With the racing season set to kick into full gear during this weekend's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona race, Forza fans now have a chance to get their own taste of endurance racing glory with the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 6, available on Thursday, Jan. 28. Leading off the pack of seven cars is last year's 24 Hours of Daytona winner, the 2015 Ford #02 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley Mk XXVI Daytona Prototype. The prototype will be fielded in this weekend's race, which begins at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, Jan. 30 and can be viewed live on Fox Sports 1 in the U.S. The Alpinestars Car Pack features six additional cars, each with a unique pedigree all its own. From the 1990 Mercury #15 Whistler Radar Cougar XR-7 – also a competitor in Daytona 24 Hour events of years past – to the inimitable 2005 Pontiac Aztek (famous more for its fictional owner than its performance), this pack has something for every kind of car fan. Forza Motorsport 6 is the only game where players can drive last year's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner on the recently remodeled Daytona International Speedway.

Buy Ford and GM stock and make 5%

Tue, Feb 2 2016

Want to make a five-percent return when 10-year treasuries are paying around two percent? Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) have solid balance sheets, strong cash flow, solid earnings, and growing markets. By all accounts, they are smart investments. But the market is down on these stocks. Why? Some of the stupid excuses include: They are cyclical companies The Detroit 3 have lost 3.5 million in sales since 2000 The world economy is shaky GM recently filed for bankruptcy Their markets have peaked They haven't changed their ways Let's take these criticisms one by one: They Are Cyclical Companies Yes, they are cyclical. Every company is cyclical. Every industry is cyclical. Some more than others, but not every company is immune from swings in the market. Banks used to be 'non-cyclical' leader, not anymore. Airline stocks are just as cyclical as auto stocks, yet they are trading at multiples greater than the auto industry. Why? And what accounts for the irrational stock price for Tesla (TSLA)? At least Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) make money and have positive cash flows. In fact, both companies have a net positive cash position. They have more cash on hand than liabilities. Auto sales in the United States hit a record 17.5 million vehicles in 2015. During the Great Recession, Ford (F) and General Motors (GM) cut their break even points to 10 million vehicles per year. Anything above an annual U.S. volume of 10 million vehicles is profit. And what a profit they make. Sales of Ford's F-150 continues to be the best-selling vehicle in the United States for over 30 years. Detroit 3 Have Lost 3.5 million in Sales Since 2000 Automotive News reports General Motors (GM), Ford (F) and Chrysler (FCA) have lost a combined 3.5 million vehicles sales since 2000. So how can they be making more money? Two big reasons – Fleet Sales and the UAW. Fleet Sales The Detroit 3 used to own car rental companies to keep their factories running. Ford owned Hertz (HTZ), General Motors owned all of National Car Rental and 29 percent of Avis, and Chrysler, the forerunner to Fiat Chrysler (FCA), used to own Thrifty Car Rental and Dollar Rent-A-Car. The Detroit 3 owned these rental companies to have a place to sell their bad product and keep their factories running. These were low margin sales, and in many cases, were money losers for the Detroit 3. They no longer own auto rental companies.

Ford Escort is ready to focus on the Chinese market

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Ford officially revived the Escort name in China, showing of the new, four-door compact at the Beijing Motor Show. Painted in a stylish brown-bronze, the new sedan wears a number of global Ford styling cues while sharing its platform with the Ford Focus.
Power for the new model comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder, although Ford doesn't specify just how much power is on offer, simply saying that the fuel economy of the new mill will be "outstanding." It's unclear what transmission will be distributing the engine's power, although based on the images we've seen, the Escort will definitely offer a two-pedal setup.
The layout of the cabin is fairly clean, although as we mentioned in our initial post on the new Escort, it's a decidedly sparser environment than we've grown use to in US-spec Fords of late. If anything, it's like a weird blend of current Ford switchgear with an overall look that reminds us of older Ford layouts. Still, it looks like a comfortable way of moving five people about without too much fuss. There's ample space both front and rear, and a rather spacious trunk.
