1969 Classic Bronco Wagon on 2040-cars
Madera, California, United States
|
For sale is a very solid 1969 Bronco. The engine is a stock 302 that is not in the vehicle. It was pulled to re-build. The Bronco was running and driving when the engine was pulled. The plan was to freshen up the engine. It wasn't worn out. The heads have been rebuilt. The trans is the stock 3 speed on the column. Dana 20 transfer case. Dana 30 front and ford 9 inch rear diffs. The only rust through is on the drivers side floor board and noted in the pictures. Other than that, it is surface rust and looks good for its age. The Bronco seems to have been repainted the original color some time ago. There is a small amount of patina on the hood and rear quarters. Also seen in the pictures. There is no lift, the Bronco is stock height. There are some swapped in front seats as well as a stock rear seat. The back of the Bronco has misc parts loaded into it such as...the rear seat, front fuel tank, door panel, and various other engine parts etc.. FYI There are some pictures of the engine compartment before and after it was rattle canned black. But, it is the same Bronco. I recently got a Marti report on the Bronco if anyone is interested in that info., I can pass that along. The Bronco is being sold as-is where-is. There is no warranty. Please ask questions before bidding. Bid to own, not to look at. Please let me know if you need any other pictures or information. Thanks for looking! |

Court puts kibosh on apartheid lawsuit against Ford, Daimler
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Ford and Daimler have scored a major victory in a long-running lawsuit filed in US federal court by unnamed South African nationals. The suit alleges that both manufacturers and their subsidiaries sold their vehicles to the South African military, despite knowing that they'd be involved in violently putting down anti-apartheid protesters.
According to Reuters, South African plaintiffs filed the case under the 223-year-old Alien Torts Statute, a law which allows foreign nationals to file charges in US courts for perceived breaches of what was originally international law, but now more closely relates to violations of human rights.
And while the case - which also involves computer manufacturer IBM - has been tied up in federal courts for years, a recent case from the Supreme Court struck down a similar suit against Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell), arguing that the ATS doesn't apply to corporations or to conduct if it occurred outside the US. In short, the law applies to individuals, but not corporations like Ford or Daimler. A US appeals court ruled that the conditions apply in this case, potentially drawing this long-running saga to a close, as the defendants will now be allowed to request that the case be dismissed in district court.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost already hitting 12-second quarters
Sun, 28 Sep 2014The arrival of a new Ford Mustang means many things to many people, but not least of them is drag racers. The pony car has always been a mainstay of the drag strip, and the Ford Racing team aims to carry that reputation forward with this latest generation. So it cooked up a few basic modifications on three new 'Stangs and headed to the strips at US 131 and Milan Dragway to see what they could coax out of 'em.
Impressively, the 5.0-liter V8 Mustang GT with a few modifications (but no forced induction) managed to clock a quarter-mile time of 11.77 seconds. Another Mustang GT fitted with a supercharger clocked a blistering 10.97 seconds. But just as intriguing was the modified EcoBoost model that, with only four cylinders and 2.3 liters of displacement, still passed the gates in just 12.56 seconds - nearly half a second better than expected. This with modification limited to a new subframe, half-shaft, drive shaft loops, exhaust, engine calibration, slicks, roll cage and bucket seat. Well done, boys.
