Up for auction is my 1967 Ford Bronco "Sport" model. Painted in its original Rangoon Red with a white hard top. This Ford Bronco is very solid & clean and is an original California vehicle. The Bronco makes a statement when driven and gets lots of compliments.
The Bronco runs strong and sounds great. With the upgrades such as the 4 wheel disc brakes and power steering it is fun to drive. It holds a clean title California under my name. Registration is current. The body is straight and the paint is in excellent condition & has been color sanded and buffed. No dents. The interior floors are original and are painted the same color as the exterior. Original floors, fenders, rockers, and quarter panels.There is no spray on liner coatings on the interior floors to hide rust or imperfections like so many Bronco's for sale. I will consider all reasonable offers. This is a solid Bronco and has been taken care of and has not been thrashed, abused or used to go rock climbing. The radio is in place but without speakers, as I did not want to cut up the Bronco. This is Bronco is a very solid rig. Vin. number on the drivers kick panels, frame and I even have the original metal service tag that was given when you purchased the Bronco new and would take it in for servicing. The speedometer is not accurate, there is a new heater core installed but is not connected to the engine. The Bronco is sold "as is" with no warranty expressed or implied. Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.
Ford dinged by OSHA for asbestos at Buffalo plant
Sat, 20 Jul 2013Ford has come under fire from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for violations regarding asbestos exposure in a company metal stamping plant in Buffalo, NY. OSHA has cited Ford for eight violations in total, according to an Automotive News report, and faces fines of up to $41,800. 537 workers are employed at the stamping facility.
The violations include a pipefitter at the facility being exposed to asbestos-containing material while working on a steam line, other workers exposed to the material without respiratory protection and work areas that were not designed to limited the number of workers in contact with asbestos. Further, areas in which asbestos was present were not properly restricted, and levels of asbestos in the air were not monitored.
According to an unnamed Ford spokesperson in the AN report, the company feels that the OSHA citation is erroneous saying, "We have fully cooperated with the local OSHA officials and we don't believe the citations are warranted." Ford also maintains that it will work with the authorities to resolve the issue.
Ford cuts 950 Russian jobs on weak demand
Thu, 03 Apr 2014The Russian auto market, in decline for the past year and further hit by the declining value of the ruble and recent sanctions over its annexation of Crimea, has forced Ford to cut jobs and shifts at two of its joint venture plants there. Around 700 of the 2,700 total workers who build the Russian-market Focus and Mondeo will be cut at the plant in Vsevolozhsk, near St. Petersburg as it drops to a single production shift. A second plant about 700 miles away in Yelabuga, in the Tartarstan region, will lose 250 workers. That plant builds seven vehicles, including the Explorer, Kuga and Edge.
The Moscow Times says Ford has been especially hit by the market decline, the overall market losing 5.5 percent in 2013 compared to the year before, but Ford sales dropping 18 percent in 2013 year-on-year. This year isn't going any better, with The Blue Oval posting a 21-percent decline through the first two months of 2014. That's why, though the Yelabuga plant builds the CUVs that customers are moving into, even it is facing cuts.
The job cuts in Vsevolozhsk come on top four-week plant shutdown planned so that the paint and body shops can go to one shift. In a statement, the company said, "Ford Sollers remains absolutely committed to the Russian market and is confident it has the right product plan, people and assets to deliver long-term profitable growth."
