This is an awesome example of an early first series Bronco. This truck has been completely restored.Starting with the drive train, the original 289 motor has been completely rebuilt and runs smooth, strong and cool. The 3 speed transmission and transfer have been serviced and work perfectly.Completely rebuilt brake system including master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, emergency brake cables and all stainless lines. The differentials have been gone through and have had fluid service plugs welded in as the early ones didn't have them.It has five brand new tires and original hub caps. The wire harness is completely new and everything works from the windshield washer to the back-up lamps and all lights and guages.Brand new aluminized exhaust system. The body on this truck is very straight and solid and had no rust in the cowl or windshield area. The following items were replaced with new parts before paint:L&R rear 1/4 panels, both rocker panels and new door hinges. The paint is the original blue color and is what I would call a well above average driver quality paint job because after all these things were meant to be driven not win the Concourse at Pebble Beach. The interior has had the original seats re-done with reproduction upholstery from Bronco Grave Yard and the floors done with spray in bed liner. The wipers have been up graded from vaccum to electric using new original type parts. This truck runs and drives like a new one would have in '67.It has a complete James Duff 3.5 lift suspension including coil springs, shocks, urethane bushings and bump stops, rear leaf springs and locator bars.I have an extra pair of matching shocks in case you want to run duals up front.I also have a new black bikini top and the original dash pad that goes with it.I'm sure there are more details that I'm forgetting but this a great Bronco that is fun to drive an gets tons of attention. Thanks for looking and good luck!

Ford, Renault, VW shareholder oppose French aid for PSA/Peugeot-Citro"en

Mon, 29 Oct 2012

Pots and kettles, glass houses and stones - that's a little of what we appear to have going on in the European car market. New reports say that that three European automakers have registered their opposition to a loan deal that PSA/Peugeot-Citroën is working on with the French government. Peugeot's finance arm, Banque PSA Finance, is struggling with its debts and has been downgraded by Moody's to its lowest investment-grade classification, one step above junk. This makes it more expensive for a potential buyer to finance a car through Peugeot. The last thing Peugeot needs is more difficulty selling cars in the tough European market, and the situation will only worsen if the bank's credit worthiness takes another hit.
A deal being worked on would have the French government offer €7 billion ($9B U.S.) in bonds to guarantee the bank's loans, which would give the institution some breathing room to manage its debts and lower its interest rates. Outside of that, a group of banks would provide other, non-guaranteed loans to the bank to further help its position. In exchange for state help, though, the government wants seats on Peugeot's board for worker representatives and a government liaison, along with factory and worker guarantees. The Peugeot family would maintain control of the company.
So what we have is government assistance being provided to a car company's finance arm, akin to the way General Motors' GMAC (now Ally Financial) and Chrysler Financial got help in their time of need. What we also have is Ford and Renault, and Germany's State of Lower Saxony, the second-largest shareholder in Volkswagen, voicing their concern about the proposal, because they say it could create an unfair competitive advantage for Peugeot. Everyone in Europe's down market is fighting for every sale, and if Peugeot gets help to keep its auto loan costs down, it figures to help buyers choose Peugeot or Citroën.

Ford, Ram in heavy-duty towing spat

Mon, 28 Jul 2014

Every pickup truck commercial has the brand trying to convince us that its model is the biggest, brawniest vehicle on the block. But Ford and Ram appear ready to really throw down the gauntlet and scrap over the towing figures for their heavy-duty models, and it could potentially end up in court.
The issue revolves around what it means to be best in class. Ford claims that its 2015 F-450 (pictured above) has a max tow rating of 31,200 pounds, compared to 30,000 pounds for the Ram 3500 (right). However, both companies market these heavy haulers as having the top towing in their class. According to Automotive News, Ford is threatening legal action if Ram doesn't back down.
The situation isn't as simple as just comparing the numbers, though. First, the two companies calculate their towing capacities differently. Ram adheres to the SAE J2807 rating, while Ford uses its own internal system. Although, as the company introduces new models, they are certified using the SAE standard. "When an all-new F-Series Super Duty is introduced, it also will use SAE J2807," said Ford to Autoblog in an emailed statement.

Ford hiring 2,200 salaried US workers this year

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

With its influx of popular new products made in the US, Ford Motor Company has announced that it intends to hire 2,200 new salaried workers domestically this year. This is the biggest increase of salaried workers for Ford in the last 10 years, and it is all a part of Ford's contract commitment to the United Auto Workers union to bring 12,000 new jobs to the US by 2015.
There were no specifics as to where in the US these job openings will be, but Ford did reiterate that it will be spending $773 million on equipment upgrades and capacity expansion at six plants located in southeast Michigan; as a whole, Ford is investing a total of $6.2 billion to its US assembly plants over the next couple years. According to recently appointed president of the Americas Joe Hinrichs, the new jobs will be focused on areas such as engineering, manufacturing and computer software. Ford will post its job openings online at careers.ford.com, and it will also use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter to recruit new workers, including military veterans.
