1973 FORD BRONCO NEAR MINT CONDITION. I bought this truck from a family where a frame off restoration was started and the dad passed away before completion. The frame was sanded down and smoothed out and repainted. On reassemble of the frame all new body bushings, radius bushings, brake lines, brakes and hardware, axle seals, 2 new fuel tanks and hoses, all new suspension coil springs and leaf springs, shocks, exhaust, new bumpers, and body bump stops were used. No expense was spared and everything is new. As for the body, it was very solid to start. the only rust repair needed was on the floor pans. Both floor pans were cut out and new OE pans welded back in. the rest of the body was sanded down and primed with a high build primer then shot with a bright white base coat to make the calypso coral really pop. This base coat was wet sanded and prepared for coral basecoat. After the calypso coral was applied it was sanded to 1500 then several coats of clear applied. The final wet sand was cut and buffed to 2500. Paint looks great. Underside of body had undercoating applied also. The drivetrain was rebuilt also. Engine was totally rebuilt and runs strong as can be. After motor was rebuilt I added several modifications...Chrome intake, chrome Edelbrock carb, chrome breather, valve covers, and Chrome brake booster. All new plugs, plug wire, distributor, new alternator, new starter, new fuel hoses, radiator hoses, etc.... A very nice Centech wiring harness was installed professionally and as you can tell in the engine compartment was all properly covered in loom and hidden as much as possible. The interior was updated as follows: James Duff shifters added, new seats and foam, new door panels, arm rests, door handles, mirrors, Rhino lined floor, all gauges work as if new, all lights work, turn signals, some new felt was installed around door glass, new upper and lower door seal, new hardtop and windshield seals, with new windshield glass. This Bronco sits on brand new 31/1050/15 all terrain tires and Pacer wheels. This Bronco has approximately 1000 miles on it since the restoration was complete and operates flawlessly. The doors, tailgate, and hood open and close flawlessly and align well. No Bronco has all the parts and attention to detail that this truck has. The buy it now is priced to sell. All serious offers will be entertained prior to auction ending. This Bronco is sold as-is where-is with no warranty implied. Deposits are 100% non-refundable. Truck is available for inspection at anytime prior to auction ending and I encourage you to have it inspected. You will be very pleased with the inspection report. If you need any additional pics or info do not hesitate to email me. $1000 deposit within 24 hours an balance in cash or cashiers check within 7 days. XCAR stages epic drag race between Ford GT40, GT70 and GT

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

XCAR has put together what it believes is a first - a drag race between Ford's legendary, Le Mans-winning GT40, the more recent GT supercar it inspired and the little-known GT70 rally car. The three mid-engined monsters were all built for very different purposes, and not surprisingly, they come to battle with very different powertrains.
The GT40 is powered by a thumping, naturally aspirated V8. This example, which looks like a Mark IV model, is likely powered by a 7.0-liter engine, although it's not entirely clear how much power it's putting down. The GT70, meanwhile, was Ford's response to the Lancia Stratos. Considering that the Lancia is one of the greatest rally cars in history and many of you are probably just hearing of the GT70 for the first time, you can imagine how much success Ford had with it. Only six were produced before a change in regulations doomed this mid-engined rally car.
The Ford GT, meanwhile, doesn't really need an introduction. 550 horsepower is on offer from a 5.4-liter, supercharged V8, which keeps the GT competitive even against more modern supercars. 60 miles per hour arrives in well under four seconds while the top speed sits at 212 mph. Not bad for a car that went out of production in 2006.

Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.

Unrestored 1969 Shelby GT500 one of many classic barn finds going to auction

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

We love a good barn find here at Autoblog. We like that there's a palpable excitement and sense of mystery surrounding barn finds. Each case has its own uniqueness to it, and this latest discovery is no different: an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500 with just 8,531 miles on it.
In the case of this particular barn find, many of the typical questions have already been answered. For example, we know who owned it - his name was Larry Brown. He recently passed away, and as he had no wife or children to inherit the estate, the car he purchased at Pennsylvania Ford dealer in May of 1969, will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The car was fastidiously maintained, having never been driven in the rain. In fact, Brown never even washed it, out of fear of it rusting. According to the auction website, the last time this car saw water was probably when it was detailed ahead of being delivered to Brown. If that doesn't sound like a fanatical sense of maintenance on the part of this GT500's owner, this next part will. The interior has been treated to a similarly painstaking attempt at preservation, with garbage bags covering the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpets. The result is a car that, aesthetically, is in remarkable shape considering it's spent so long in a barn.
