I have for sale a 1989 Ford Bronco XLT. I am the 3rd owner, and I know the second owner quite well. It was purchased new in Madison, WI by an elderly gentleman who didn't drive much. He put almost 90,000 miles on it before selling it to my friend in Fargo, ND about 6 years ago. He used it as a hunting vehicle in rural North Dakota for 5 years until I bought it from him about a year ago. In that time he did a lot of maintenance typical of a late 80's Ford. He replaced the gas tank and fuel lines, had the top end of the engine tuned, rear brake lines replaced, new clutch, new shocks, and had some electrical replaced. That's what I remember for sure. I'm positive he did more, but I don't remember exactly what and I don't want to speculate. The tires were installed less than 5,000 miles ago. I had the rear window motor rebuilt. I replaced the front pads and rear shoes (I have extra shoes). I also have some extra parts for a few projects that I wanted to do. I have new plugs and wires, a new distributor cap, and a upgraded ignition. I wanted to change the timing but never got around to it. I also have new tail lights that I haven't installed yet. As you can see in the pictures all of the glass is intact. The top comes off with ease. I had it off almost all summer. I have never had a hiccup with it starting or running. The interior is super clean and has always been a non-smokers vehicle. Now for the bad. The drive shaft that connects the transmission to the transfer case needs new u-joints, and I just haven't gotten around to changing them yet. It has your typical rear fender and tailgate rust that is really common for Broncos of this age. Luckily its practically rust free forward of the doors. The wiper sprayers have never worked, but I can hear the motor working so it's probably a clog. I have the truck listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. I'm also up for meeting within 100 miles to complete a purchase.

Ford pulling out of V8 Supercars after 2015
Tue, Dec 2 2014Australian racing fans are staring down the end of an era as news breaks that Ford will no longer participate in the V8 Supercars series. Although the official announcement has yet to be made, the decision – as reported widely in the automotive press Down Under and in global motorsport publications – indicates that the Blue Oval automaker has already confirmed its intentions to its shareholders early on Monday to shut down its factory effort in the popular tin-top series at the end of next season. The move will mark the end of an era for what has become the International V8 Supercars Championship. Alongside GM's Holden division, Ford was one of only two manufacturers competing in the series from its inception in the late 1990s through last year when a change in regulations opened the door for entries from Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes. Further rule changes are expected to attract even more manufacturers to the series, with Lexus said to be first among them. Over the past eighteen seasons, the V8 Supercars Championship has been won in a Holden Commodore fourteen times, leaving Ford to win the title only four times with successive versions of the Falcon. Eleven of the cars on the grid this season were Commodores, compared to only seven Ford Falcons between two teams that will need to switch to another manufacturer for the season after next – although some could opt to stick with their Fords for one more season, even without factory support, until the open 2016 regulations take effect. The decision follows Ford's announcement last year that it will cease manufacturing in Australia by 2016, ending a 90-year presence Down Under that stretches back to 1925. Blue Oval models like the Falcon, previously unique to the Aussie market, are being replaced by imported models like the Mondeo and Mustang.
Ford Mustang to get four-cylinder in Europe, but not US
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Fans of the Ford Mustang SVO, which was produced from 1884 through 1986 with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission, may be interested to know that Ford is reportedly going to introduce something similar for 2015. But don't get too excited if you live in the US, as Edmunds reports that the vehicle will be offered in Europe only. Boo!
According to the report, Ford will put a version of its EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder into the engine bay of the Mustang. The engine would be enlarged from its current 2.0 liters to 2.3 liters, taking horsepower from 252 to around 300. The well-known 5.0 V8 engine will also be available in Europe.
"The Mustang is uniquely Ford and has a huge fan base here in Europe. Now those fans have something to look forward to and we look forward to providing more details in the near future," says Ford of Europe CEO Stephen Odell. That's great... but why not offer buyers in the States the (likely) fuel-efficient turbo option, too?
Ford Fiesta ST GRC Racecar is hungry for podiums in 2013
Thu, 07 Feb 2013As we reported earlier, the Chicago showing of this plucky Ford Fiesta ST GRC racer points to bigger and brighter days for Global RallyCross. For the upcoming season, you can expect to see Ken Block and Tanner Foust both driving the Ford racecar, and if last season's results are any indication, you can anticipate quite a few podium appearances, as well.
The Fiesta seen here was built by the Swedes at OlsbergsMSE, and will be driven in anger by Foust in 2013. Modifications are, as you'd expect, extensive, and include an engine, exhaust and braking upgrades, a racing style short-throw shifter and a limited-slip differential. As you can see, the car has been fully stripped out and caged for maximum speed and safety, too.
Refresh your memories with the details of the car, in the press releases below. And if you head out to the Chicago Auto Show this year, don't forget to drop by the Ford stand to have a look.
