1988 Ford Bronco Ii Xl Sport Sport Utility 2-door 2.9l on 2040-cars
United States
1988 Bronco II 2WD– V6 2.9L EFI with a 5-speed Over Drive Manual Transmission. This is not your normal 1988 vehicle. We are the original owners so we know what has happened with this truck since the day we picked it up with 23 miles on the odometer. We ran the factory oil for the first 2K miles then changed to Mobile 1 Synthetic and have changed the oil every 3K since using Mobile 1. Currently there are 209K miles on the original engine. The 5-speed OD tranny had to have a couple gears replaced about 20K miles ago as they were howling. Even though the clutch was still serviceable we replaced the disc and pressure plate as a preventive measure. The tires have less than 2K miles on them and it has aluminum wheels. This truck has never been driven in a Michigan or other snowy state’s winter. It was repainted in 2012 to a near factory color and it has Ghost Flames. When it was repainted the following was replaced: Door Seals, Window Seals, Marker Lights, Taillight/Brake Light Assemblies, Carpet (sound deadening insulation installed), Front Seat Belt Assemblies, Windshield and trim, Bumpers, Grille and Insert, Ford Emblems, Mirrors, Door Handles, and anything that was not replaced was repainted to look new. As you can see by the plates the Bronco is registered in Alaska but that is only because we are military and that is where we last registered it. The Bronco has never been to Alaska and has been in storage\restoration with family in Michigan since 2007. We were home last year for vacation and drove the Bronco all over Michigan for two weeks with no issues, including a trip up north @75MPH. This is a 26 year old vehicle but has been well cared for. It may not handle/drive like your 2013 Escape, Explorer or F-150 but definitely turns heads when you cruise down the road and is fun to drive.

2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility shows up for duty in Chicago
Fri, Feb 13 2015The latest upgrade for the 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is all set to patrol the Windy City's streets with its debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. On the outside, the revised Ford police vehicle looks basically the same as the recently refreshed Explorer with a new grille and redesigned headlights. Inside, there's a restyled steering wheel and center console. Unlike the civilian model, though, the PI Utility gets heavy-duty brakes, a more robust cooling system, reinforced subframe mounts and larger diameter suspension springs for more strength. Under the hood, police forces get to choose between either a 3.7-liter V6 with 304 horsepower and 279 pound-feet of torque or a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of twist. Regardless of powertrain, these 'utes feature a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The transmission includes the awesome-sounding Pursuit Mode feature that switches over to more aggressive shifts when it detects harder driving to properly stop crime. Related Video:
Ford hurt by 2015 F-150 production restraints
Tue, Mar 10 2015The new 2015 Ford F-150 came out of the gate strong for January 2015 with all F-Series sales up 17 percent for the month. However, February tempered those gains a bit with the model line dipping 1.2 percent, and the Ford brand itself dropped 1.7 percent year-over-year. The fall is being blamed in part on tight supply of the latest pickup. A major factor holding back the 2015 F-150 is that they are only currently being made at the Dearborn Truck Plant. The Kansas City factory is still changing over, and full supply from them both is expected by the middle of the year. Ford also just announced plans to hire an extra 1,550 people to build the pickups, including 900 in Kansas City. However, the downtime in the assembly changeover has caused about 90,000 units in lost production since mid-2014, according to The Detroit Free Press. It's not all bad news for the pickup, though. The latest F-150 made up 21 percent of F-Series sales in February, according to The Detroit Free Press, up from 18 percent in the previous month, and they remained on dealer lots an average of 18 days. The lessened supply has also meant lower incentives. Mark LaNeve, Ford's US marketing boss, told the Free Press that average F-150 transaction prices were up $2,000 from last year. He also indicated that retail figures grew seven percent in February, while F-Series fleet numbers were down 18 percent. The constrained supply does come at an inopportune time for Ford, though. This year is expected to be huge for pickups. Also, lower gas prices appear to be pushing people towards SUVs and trucks recently. Related Video:
Xcar flogs the 2015 Ford Focus ST
Wed, Feb 18 2015There's an inevitable dilemma that practically every auto fan eventually faces, at least other than Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, and that's the tradeoff of performance, practicality and perhaps most importantly, money. Parking the fabled supercar in the garage might be the wish, but for most folks bigger responsibilities – like a family – just don't allow that dream to be a reality. In the view of XCar Films, this intersection of needs and wants is where vehicles like the latest Ford Focus ST provide a fantastic compromise between exciting driving and everyday practicality. Xcar hops into Ford's recently refreshed European hot hatch to illustrate its abilities as both a hauler for the small family on the move and for the driver who just wants to go. The Blue Oval left the powertrain alone for the ST's update, but sharpened the exterior styling, revised the interior and retuned the front suspension and steering. Being realistic, no one is ever going to get behind the wheel of the Focus ST and mistake it for a Porsche, but that's not really the point. Instead, buyers get to put a smile on their face from time to time and still maintain life's other responsibilities.
