For sale is a 1977 Ford Bronco. The 289 heads were remanufactured and put back together with a four barrel holley. The motor has great compression and runs strong. There were numerous issues with the body when I purchased it so I took the body off the chassey and purchased new body parts and had them professionally welded together and painted with 2K Primer finish. One of the front motor mounts on the chassey needs to be replaced. It's a $30 item. Other than that the chassey is in solid condition. I also purchased the new body mount kit which is still in the bag and comes with it. The body is not attached to the chassey, but I will strap them together when they are shipped. The shipping company will need to know that it is not running. Included along with the body are both doors with working windows, the two front fenders which have minor rust as seen in the pictures, the hood, the topper with all glass, both repainted bumpers, front grill which needs work, two front seats, back bench seat, steering wheel, dash board visors, windshield wipers, etc. The tailgate is the only thing that I think is too far gone, but has all the parts you will need. Also, the windshield is missing. There are too many parts to list, however, I have taken pictures of everything. I started this project, but do not have the time to finish. Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?
Wed, 11 Dec 2013The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.
Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.

I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
