1989 Ford Mustang LX Vert. "Supercharged Sleeper".

Video (Copy & Paste): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ0kSD0ZvPE

I have had this Mustang for four years. It's time for a new toy.

Countless hours, blood, sweat and a lot of pride and joy.
Not to mention the "Holy $h_t" when you mash the throttle.

Approx. 425 HP at the wheels with the current 6 lbs. pulley.
Approx. 475 HP with the 9 lbs. pulley.
These #s may be slightly conservative. Better to underestimate than over.

I do not have any dyno #'s. These approximations are based on my 20+ years of running Mustangs.
I do have a friend that has dynoed at 453 hp at the wheels. I keep up with him with the 6 lbs. pulley.

I have three binders full of all the upgrades and work that has been done to the car.
One from the original owner in CA.
One from the 2nd owner in MI.
One from me.
All together, there are hundreds of documents.

It is simply amazing how much money has been spent on this car over its life time.

Now for the goodies.

With after market steering wheel the horn and cruise do not work.

Cash in hand (preferred) or bank transfer. Bank Certified Checks take 20 Business Days to fully Clear. Shipping Quotes Available.

Serious Inquiries ONLY.

This is NOT a kids car. This car has serious horse power and should not be taken lightly.

Multiple Show Winner.

I am an old guy and do not drag race my cars. Never seen a drag strip. I like my car shows and a bit of giddy up and go when passing. This is a wonderful survivor Mustang and you will not be disappointed. Runs & drives perfect.

The car does not have NOS. The sticker and the bottle are just for the car shows.
The bottle does not go with the car.

This is a beautiful Fox Mustang LX.
A great Mustang from the past.
Great survivor.

This Mustang runs great. I would not hesitate to drive it any where.

Use my plates for the drive home and mail them back when you get there.

This Mustang is a "Drivers Car". Don't just park it in your garage.

Drive it and enjoy it. That is why it was made.

Have fun and enjoy life.

Any questions please let me know.

Ford Focus RS ready to make our hot hatch dreams real

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Ford's current hot hatch siblings the Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already two pretty great entries into the segment, but there's always a desire for a little more. Thankfully, it looks like the Blue Oval is ready to satiate that need because it's continuing to test the even more powerful Focus RS around Europe. According to our spy shooters, these shots come from near the Nürburgring.
As with previous photos, Ford engineers continue to heavily camouflage the front end of the RS prototypes, but there's a big difference here. Unlike earlier ones, this example appears to have a closer-to-production-ready front bumper rather than just a horizontal strip for the license plate. That may point to development getting somewhat closer to wrapping up. Although, this one lacks the larger rear wing from prior testers, and the exhaust also appears to be a work in progress with the rear diffuser covered in mesh in these latest shots.
The RS is rumored to be using the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Mustang, but power is reportedly turned up from 310 horsepower in the 'Stang to somewhere between 325 hp and 350 hp for the Focus. Routing all that just through the front wheels could be a recipe for serious torque steer, and all-wheel drive is potentially being used for better traction.

EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.

Consumer Reports: Ford Fusion fun but flawed; Mitsubishi i-MiEV slow, chintzy [w/videos]

Wed, 23 Jan 2013

Waiting for a Ford compliment from Consumer Reports these days is like waiting for a low-cost new product from Apple. So we weren't really expecting a glowing review of the 2013 Ford Fusion when CR got its hands on the car. The institute's crew bought three different versions of the Fusion (Hybrid, 1.6-liter EcoBoost and a Titanium with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost) to put through its barrage of tests, and while we aren't too surprised by some of the findings, they're still interesting nonetheless.
CR praises the Fusion for its "eye-catching" design and says that the sportier Titanium trim level is the best-handling midsize sedan they've ever tested, but that's about where the good news ends for Ford. The Fusion Hybrid also posted the best-ever fuel economy CR has recorded in a midsize sedan, but the only problem is that their number was 39 miles per gallon combined - far less than Ford's 47 mpg rating for city, highway and combined. As expected, CR also dinged the Fusion for its MyFord Touch, but some of the other gripes about the car include a cramped cabin and poor fit and finish.
Other Ford products tested this time around include the Focus Electric and C-Max Hybrid. Like the Fusion, CR's observed fuel economy of 37 mpg for the C-Max fell well short of Ford's advertised 47-mpg rating, and both cars were criticized for the use of MyFord Touch. CR notes that the Focus Electric's interior is also cramped, with the battery pack taking up a lot of cargo space.
