Supercharged Sleeper Ford Mustang 1989 Lx Convertible Black Vert Very Clean on 2040-cars
Celina, Ohio, United States
1989 Ford Mustang LX Vert. "Supercharged Sleeper". Video (Copy & Paste): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ0kSD0ZvPE I have had this Mustang for four years. It's time for a new toy. Countless hours, blood, sweat and a lot of pride and joy. Not to mention the "Holy $h_t" when you mash the throttle. Approx. 425 HP at the wheels with the current 6 lbs. pulley. Approx. 475 HP with the 9 lbs. pulley. These #s may be slightly conservative. Better to underestimate than over. I do not have any dyno #'s. These approximations are based on my 20+ years of running Mustangs. I do have a friend that has dynoed at 453 hp at the wheels. I keep up with him with the 6 lbs. pulley. I have three binders full of all the upgrades and work that has been done to the car. One from the original owner in CA. One from the 2nd owner in MI. One from me. All together, there are hundreds of documents. It is simply amazing how much money has been spent on this car over its life time. Now for the goodies. Ice Cold A/C (R134). Non Smoker. No Rust. Extremely Clean. Fabric Top. Custom Paint. 306 cu. Powerdyne Supercharged, K&N Cold Air Kit, w/ 12" Conical K&N (Inside the Wheel Well), Cobra Upper & Lower, SVO Aluminum X-302 Heads, 1.7 Roller Rockers, Pro-M 75mm Mass Air, 65mm TB, Prof. Prod. If someone wants this car, they're going to have to flat bed it. I am sure I have forgotten some things: upgraded belt, tune up stuff etc. All regular maintenance performed by me. I'm a gear head. I like things right. This is a 24 year old Mustang and not showroom perfect. Although, I've done a good job at it. Some small rock nicks on the front. Rims have a few nicks. With after market steering wheel the horn and cruise do not work. (I have the original steering wheel). The current steering wheel has a quick disconnect for security. The passenger seat belt does not retract very well. Cash in hand (preferred) or bank transfer. Bank Certified Checks take 20 Business Days to fully Clear. Shipping Quotes Available. Serious Inquiries ONLY. This is NOT a kids car. This car has serious horse power and should not be taken lightly. Multiple Show Winner. I am an old guy and do not drag race my cars. Never seen a drag strip. I like my car shows and a bit of giddy up and go when passing. This is a wonderful survivor Mustang and you will not be disappointed. Runs & drives perfect. The car does not have NOS. The sticker and the bottle are just for the car shows. The bottle does not go with the car. This is a beautiful Fox Mustang LX. A great Mustang from the past. Great survivor. This Mustang runs great. I would not hesitate to drive it any where. Use my plates for the drive home and mail them back when you get there. This Mustang is a "Drivers Car". Don't just park it in your garage. Drive it and enjoy it. That is why it was made. Have fun and enjoy life. Any questions please let me know. David 419 7three3 33zero7. Thanks for looking. Good luck. Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?
Mon, Feb 27 2017We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.
The hottest modern sports cars rendered as rally racers
Thu, Jan 14 2016The modern-day World Rally Championship a monumental amount of fun to watch – I should know, as I recently was lucky enough to head to the UK to watch WRC Wales Rally GB – but even the most monstrous of the current WRC cars are based on fairly pedestrian European hatchbacks. Back in the heyday of rally, the Group B era in the 1980s, much hotter cars were the basis of even more incredible competition machines, for the most part. Take the exotic Ford RS200, or the Lancia Delta S4 with its twin-charged engine. And the hatchback-based Group B cars were bonkers, too. So what would some of our favorite modern cars look like if Group B had never ended? A British site named CarWow hired an artist to reimagine everything from the Rolls-Royce Wraith to the Porsche 911 as a retro-inspired rally car, and they were kind enough to let us share the results in the gallery above. The gallery features an Alfa Romeo Giulia in Martini livery, an Audi TT in classic Ur-Quattro colors, a Fiat 500 Abarth sporting massive flares and a hood blister full of auxiliary lights, a new Ford Mustang in RS200 livery, a Lancia Delta in Alitalia colors, a Porsche 911 in Rothmans livery, a Renault-Alpine in classic blue, a Rolls-Royce Wraith tribute to the Jules cologne Corniche Coupe, and a relatively modern-looking VW Touran. So far, the favorite around the office is the incredible Mercedes-Benz S-Class that is an homage to the wonderful 300 SEL 6.8 AMG "Red Pig" that essentially put AMG on the map. Check out the gallery above and see which one you like the best. Related Video:
Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn
Sun, 30 Mar 2014Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.
