1995 Ford Aerostar Extended Van 4.0l Auto 4x4 4 Door Liftagate 161k on 2040-cars
Kennesaw, Georgia, United States
For sale is a 1995 Ford Aerostar 4.0L Automatic 4x4 with 161,357 miles, a BAD transmission and no expressed or implied warranties or guarantees. I tried to have the transmission repaired with the last dollar I had and it failed because there was water in the transmission I purchased. They refunded the money ($325). Here is the eBay listing of the transmission I purchased: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140644339050?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649but I am still out the installation costs ($700) which I don’t have and I also don’t have any transportation or enough money to buy the right one. My loss is your gain. This was my only vehicle and daily driver and I have driven this truck from Maryland (DC Area) to ATL 4 times round trip in the last 5 months without any problem. The transmission was slipping and the fluid slowly leaked and instead of just waiting to purchase a rebuilt unit or to have this unit rebuilt, I saw a deal to good to be true and it absolutely was! Other known problems that I planned to fix (Please keep in mind the vehicle is used): 1. Also there is a leak around the side rear window rubber that needs to be repaired. When it rains real hard water may get inside. 2. The driver seat is soiled. The seat shown in the rear is the replacement unit and is not attached. 3. The 2 rear seats are in MD and are not be included with the sale. The rear seat belts are missing as well. 4. The rear bumper needs replacing and part of it is missing. 5. The rear controls don’t work but the rear lighter socket does. 6. There is also a dent on the passenger rear side, but I had no desire to get fixed. Some rust on the lower cover panels. Under body is solid. NEW AAA Battery, Brakes, Clean interior, AC, Heat, Radio, Speakers, Blinkers, Horn, interior lights and all other essential mechanical features of this truck work as far as I know. I have A video of the truck running and may have to provide a link to youtube for viewing. Please email me questions before bidding. I will accept NO BIDDERS with less than 5 ratings. So if you have less than 5, I will cancel your bid and give to the next highest bidder with 5 or more. So please save me the misery and don’t bid if you have less than 5. You can still BUY IT NOW and PAY IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE less that 5. The vehicle is still parked in lot adjacent to 2490 S Main St NW # B, Kennesaw, GA 30144. The staff and shop personnel have absolutely nothing to do with or any knowledge regarding the history or sale of this vehicle. This vehicle is being sold as is with no expressed or implied warranties or guarantees. |

Introducing the 1965 Ford Mustang
Sat, 24 Aug 2013Put on your space suits and diving bell helmets, for it's time to step into a time capsule. The 50th anniversary of a historic model, like, say, the Porsche 911 this year, is certain to bring flights of nostalgia. This historical trip with the 1965 Mustang, though - preliminary hype for next year's anniversary, we know - is a swell museum exhibit for anyone who enjoys bygone days of the automobile.
Lee Iaccoca gave a speech to motoring journalists on April 1, 1964 at the New York World's Fair to introduce a sporty car for younger drivers. His opening line: "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to one of the proudest moments of our lives." The company was so excited by what it had made that the Mustang was Ford's first "International Press Introduction," being introduced to some 2,000 journos around the world on the same day in the US and 11 European cities. Even through its difficult points, no one at the time could have known how well the Mustang would acquit that pride.
After the intro, the press drove Mustangs 750 miles from New York to Dearborn, MI, reading press kits that touted features like the "vertical, three-sectional taillights/turn signals," "170" six-cylinder engine with 101 horsepower and the available Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
Weekly Recap: Volvo buys Polestar, makes performance a priority
Sat, Jul 18 2015Volvo is taking its performance business in-house, and the Swedish carmaker announced Tuesday that it bought tuning company Polestar, which has long been known for producing sporty Volvos. The move allows Volvo to ramp up its performance business, and it plans to increase Polestar-branded vehicle sales to 1,000 to 1,500 annually, up from the 750 total projected for this year. The companies have been working together on motorsports projects since 1996. Financial terms of the sale were not released, and Polestar workers will move over to Volvo. Former Polestar owner Christian Dahl will keep control of the Polestar racing team and operate it under a new name. In addition to sales volume, Volvo has ambitious plans for other parts of Polestar, including its aftermarket business. Volvo also said it will use its twin-engine hybrid technology for Polestar models in the future, though specifics and timing were not revealed. Meanwhile, Volvo announced it will offer a run of 265 total Polestars in the United States for the 2016 model year, with S60 and V60s available. "Driving a Volvo Polestar is a special experience. We have decided to bring this experience to more Volvo drivers, placing the full resources of Volvo behind the development of Polestar as the model name for our high performance cars," Volvo CEO Hakan Samuelsson said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, get nose jobs Automakers tend to refer to light updates as 'facelifts,' and that's exactly what Chevy gave the 2016 Silverado and GMC Sierra. Chevy slightly changed the front end of the truck. Using the one photo released of the new Z71 model as a guide, we can see that the headlights went from a stacked vertical design to single bulbs, and they are set on top of LED running lights. The grille has more body-colored elements instead of shiny metal, and the hood has a new line running down the middle (look really closely). The design theme will be similar across the portfolio, though materials and details will vary, a spokesman said. Some models, like the High Country and LTZ will have more chrome, and the LEDs are only for the upper trims. Chevy also said it will use the eight-speed automatic transmission on more versions of the Silverado, and it updated the MyLink feature to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Check out Ford's fully automated self-parking car [w/video]
Wed, 09 Oct 2013As automakers continue to find uses for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle technology, Ford of Europe has announced that it is developing a self-parking system for future use. More advanced than the Active Park Assist already offered in many Ford products, the new Fully Assisted Parking Aid can take full control of the vehicle and can navigate angled and perpendicular parking spots.
While today's Active Park Assist can only parallel park with the driver controlling the gas, brake and gear selection, Fully Assisted Parking Aid can operate steering, gas, brake and gear selection all while making sure the car is properly parked in the intended space. As with APA, the driver pushes a button to make the car look for a proper spot (at speeds of up to 18 miles per hour), and when an adequate space is located, the operator pushes another button (either inside the car or outside via remote control) for the car to park itself - the button must be pressed throughout the whole parking maneuver. Even though Ford says that the car can effect gear selections on its own, the system must still start from Neutral, and the automaker isn't saying whether the car can put itself into Park when done or put itself in Drive when the operator is ready to go.
Ford is also taking the opportunity to announce its new Obstacle Avoidance technology. This automated system is able to detect objects - including pedestrians - in the road, warn drivers of said objects and, if needed, stop and steer automatically to avoid hitting the obstacle. Both systems are still in the prototype phase, so there is no word as to when we could see either on a production vehicle.
