1994 Ford Mustang Gt Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1994 Mileage:164000 Color: plastic is cracked
Location:

Bloomfield, Indiana, United States

For sale is a 1994 Mustang GT. It is in good working order. It starts and drives well for a car of its age. The driving experience is fun to say the least. Unlike current Mustangs, you can tell this thing has a truck motor with gobs of torque and pulls from any rev range. The motor is as strong as it ever was. The interior is in great condition except for a few issues. The doors have a few loose trim pieces which do not affect the aesthetics or usability of the car. The car is completely stock except for a set of flowmaster 40 series mufflers which sound great. The tires are nearly new and have a lot of life in them. The original 3-spoke 17" "pony" wheels are included in the sale if you wish. The wheels on the car are reproduction FR500 style 17" wheels and are nearly new and included in the sale.

I have had the car since 2000 and it was my daily driver for years. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Now for the bad. The car has been siting for a while but has a new battery. I spent some time driving it and it is no worse for wear. There is a minor musty smell on the interior. This goes away after use based on experience. The airbag light is illuminated and no further info is available. The windshield washers are weak (personally a non issue as the windshield never seems to get dirty) and do not clean the windshield effectively but the wipers work great. The key fob for remote entry is included but is broken and needs replaced but the keys get you inside the old fashioned way no problem. There is very minor surface rust on some of the components under the hood. The body is in great condition for having spent it's life in the rust belt. There is no rust on the exterior. It was repainted by the previous owner. Currently the clear coat could use a buffing as there are minor blemishes visible from certain angles. There is some chipping  and cracking down low but you have to look for it. The right rear tail light is faded slightly as it is not the original. There are some minor dings in the bumpers and fenders. Some of the exterior plastic is cracked. Over all, the thing still looks sharp.

Ken Block hoons his Ford F-150 RaptorTrax on the slopes

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Ken Block drives Fords. Hoons the heck out of 'em, actually. Mostly Fiestas, but also the occasional Focus or Mustang. But earlier this year, the Gymkhana guru revealed his baddest Ford yet: an F-150 SVT Raptor on tracks. And true to form, here he is putting it to the test in the latest video from Monster Energy and Hoonigan Racing.
Filmed at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, BC, the video pairs Block up with snowboarders Zak Hale and Ethan Deiss for some deep-powder action. You'll want to watch the video for yourself, but the bottom line is that the RaptorTrax beats the heck out of waiting on line for the ski lift. It's enough to make us start to look forward to winter... almost.

Has the auto industry hit peak hybrid?

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Hybrids are known for their great fuel economy and low emissions, but it looks like given current market conditions, only about three percent of new car consumers are willing to pay the premium for them. A new study from IHS/Polk finds that the hybrid market share among overall US auto sales are falling, despite more models with the technology on sale than ever before.
The study examined new car registrations in March from 2009 through 2014. In that time, the auto industry grew from 24 to 47 hybrid models available to consumers, but market share for the powertrain remained almost stagnant in that time. As of 2009, hybrids held 2.4 percent of the market; it fell slightly to 2.3 percent in 2010 and grew to 3.3 percent in 2013. However, 2014 showed a drop back to 3 percent. Overall hybrid sales have been growing since 2010, but they just aren't keeping up with the total auto market.
According to IHS/Polk, this isn't what you would expect to see. Usually, each new model in the market brings along with it a boost in sales. The growth in hybrid models 2009 to 2014 should have shown a larger increase in share for the segment.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
