 1953 - Ford Customline 4 Door Sedan

Flat Head V/8 - 3 Speed - Black w/White Top

8-cylinders 239cid/110hp 2bbl

In the 1950's Black and White two-tone was a color combination that was tough to go wrong with and you will agree in this case with this beautifully original unrestored 1953 Ford Customline 4-door Sedan runs and drives like an old car of that time, stored the last 6 or so years, driven on nice days and special occasions. Original interior with seat covers, retains most of its original paint, original chrome, new master and wheel cylinders, rebuilt carburetor, fuel pump, new fuel tank, new belts and hoses...etc. One decent restorable '53 Ford Customline need a good home.

From any angle this car has great lines and timeless looks. This black w/white top is original and could stand a complete paint job whether the same color or a custom paint job. You would turn heads at any car event or parade. The bodywork is straight its finish is original with some painting and body work prior to my ownership. The chrome and stainless steel trim are all original so with the age it looks good, but if I were going to restore it I would replace it. I have way too many projects to keep this one. It is one of many cars I own, so looking to pass the love for these well built cars to another enthusiast. Please LOOK and EXAMINE the pictures. I would entertain any questions or provide any further pictures if needed.

When you take in all the individual details from the front bumper to the rear bumper it has been a well kept car for its age. Always seems to turn heads when driven. Inside you will find original equipment with NO modifications with the exception of a fan on the floorboard which was there when I purchased it from the original owner a few years ago.

Accessories include a heater and defroster, analog clock, stock steering, stock brakes, and original AM radio that does not work. Power comes from a Flathead 239cid V8 with a 2-barrel carburetor. To complete the look the spare tire and jack are still present just as they should be.

Also included is the original owner's manual. This car is a great daily driver and head turner, it is rare and you are not likely to see another one when you are out at a local event or parade. I would be glad to answer any questions or provide more pictures.

One last thought: Would Consider Trading for a 1951 or 1952 Chevrolet

This is a REAL crown jewel...Do NOT let it get away and slip through your fingers!! Happy Bidding!!

The 11 most expensive American cars ever

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

Here's a Pro Tip for all you would-be classic car investors out there: buy Ferraris. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?
Follow on below for the top ten cars that are red, white, blue and a whole lot of green.

Diesel details: Comparing Ram 1500 EcoDiesel, Chevy Silverado Duramax, Ford F-150 Powerstroke

Thu, Jun 13 2019

With specifications for the 2019 Ford F-150 Power Stroke diesel already out, and the details on the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and Chevy Silverado Duramax (and its GMC Sierra twin) trickling out, we felt it was a good time to start comparing the full-size trucks' light-duty diesels. Bear in mind, we've only driven one of these new diesel trucks, so we'll be sticking to numbers for now. Some numbers haven't been announced yet, either, but stay tuned, because we'll be updating this post with additional specifications as they become available. And if you want to compare any other versions of these trucks with other vehicles, be sure to check out our comparison tool. Now let's start comparing, starting with our big chart of numbers below. As we can plainly see, these trucks are quite closely matched. Each one has six cylinders, a displacement of 3.0 liters and a turbocharger to boost it. The output of each is somewhat close, too. The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is the torque king at 480 pound-feet, 20 more than the GM trucks and 40 more than the Ford. The GM trucks win on power, though, with 277 ponies, 17 more than the Ram, and 27 more than the Ford. GM does report that you get their trucks' peak 460 pound-feet of torque from 1,500 rpm to 3,000 rpm, whereas the others only report peak torque at a particular point in the rev band, but all of these trucks should have wide, flat torque curves as you would expect from modern turbodiesels. 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel View 8 Photos Engine output is only one part of the truck performance equation. We also have towing and payload capacity, as well as fuel economy. With towing, the Ram 1500 is the current leader with a maximum capacity of 12,560 pounds. That tops the Ford F-150's 11,400-pound tow rating by well over 1,000 pounds. The F-150 can carry 2,020 pounds in its bed, but we don't know yet whether that's better or worse than the Ram or the GM trucks. We also don't have numbers for the GM trucks' towing capacities. View 9 Photos As for fuel economy, the Ford F-150 manages a thoroughly impressive 22 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway with two-wheel drive. Choosing four-wheel drive drops those numbers to 20 and 25 respectively. The fuel economy numbers for the Ram, Chevy and GMC haven't been revealed yet, but for some comparison, we can look at the old Ram EcoDiesel. That truck's best fuel economy was 20 in the city and 27 on the highway with two-wheel drive.

Toyota sells six of 10 of hybrids in California

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

In an apparent shot back at Ford's increasing market share of electrified vehicles and claim that it accepts more Prius trade-ins for its own hybrids than any other car, Toyota has flexed a muscle and played the numbers game to put the Blue Oval in its place.
Leaning on its hybrid market dominance in California, the Japanese automaker stated that six out of 10 hybrids sold in the Golden State are Toyota models. And it keeps coming: Year-to-date through May 2013, Toyota sold five times more hybrids than Ford. One of every two hybrids in California is a Prius model. In addition, Toyota notes that it has sold 1.5 million Prius vehicles in the US, 90-percent of which are still on the road today.
Want more? We'll let Bill Fay, Toyota's group vice president and general manager of sales lay the smack down:
