2012 FIAT 500c - Cabrio (Convertible)

14,900 Miles, One Owner, No Accidents.

You can't find a nicer pre-owned FIAT than this one.  Comes with balance of FIAT comprehensive factory warranty (4 year / 50,000 miles).

GAS MILEAGE:  38 Hwy / 30 City <--- What??? Yes, its true.  You could drive some bland and boring Toyota and get 34 MPG or drive this cool FIAT with style, convertible AND better gas mileage.  You don't have to compromise between fun and sensible.

Exterior Color: Mocha Latte (Tan) / Looks AMAZING in person, you cannot help but smile when you see this car.  It'll definitely brighten your day parked in your driveway (and even more when it greets you in your spot after work or school).  This color is a tribute to the Italian car colors of the late 50's and 60's and is very nostalgic.  You can definitely say you live the Dolce Vita when you are in this car

Top: Tan.  Cloth top retracts with a touch of a button (and even a secret trick on the key fob).  Let me be clear about the top since there is some mis-information on the internet.  The top has 3 modes.  The first opens it about a foot, so you have something like a little sunroof.  The second position opens the roof completely so you have a super big sunroof <-- in THIS position you still have perfect view out of your back window.  Then, there is a third position, which takes the roof all the way to the trunk.  In that position you can still see out the back, but you have to adjust the rear view.  But that one is the "money" way to drive.  Super cool and feels like a proper cabrio.

Interior Color:  Seats are part cream color and part dark brown cloth.  Very light and airy.
Dealer upgraded wood trim kit.

Wheels:   Premium FIAT wheels

Body:  Excellent
Engine:  Excellent
Interior:  Excellent
Mechanicals: Excellent
Tires: Excellent
Brakes:  Excellent
Super Fun:  Yes

This is a fantastic car especially if you live in an urban environment.  Gas mileage is super.  Having a convertible top makes for nice drives in mornings, afternoons and evenings.

A/C, Auto Windows, CD Player, USB Connection (for iPod or android or USB Drive).  Also has nice Bluetooth with voice dialing so you don't have to take your phone out.

This is the "Pop" model, .

I have owned this car since new.  No Accidents.  No problems with it.  Drives great, everything works.  This was purchased as a fun weekend car, but I ended up traveling a lot for work and could not use it as much as I'd like.  Since I don't use as much as much as I want, I'm selling.  My loss (and depreciation) is your gain.  There are no regrets with this car.

Fiat Chrysler, surprise, had to buy a lot of emissions credits

Sun, Dec 27 2015

The world of carbon emissions uses some unusual units of measure. Take, for example, 8.2 million megagrams. Who needs to know how much that is? Someone at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, that's who. FCA had to buy that many greenhouse-gas emissions credits from greener automakers, Reuters says, citing a report from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Because its vehicles' collective fuel economy continues to trail the industry average, FCA purchased the emissions credits at of the end of 2014 in order to meet US emissions regulations. About two-thirds of those credits were acquired from Toyota, while the rest were purchased from Tesla and Honda. Daimler and Ferrari, not surprisingly, were among the other automobile companies that had to acquire emissions credits in order to meet US greenhouse gas regulations. Because the price for these credits is set privately by the companies, the EPA didn't disclose how much FCA had to pay to stay on the green side. The reason for the millions FCA likely spent is because the company is making a slow progress building and selling cleaner cars. The company did increase average fuel efficiency by about one mile per gallon to almost 22 mpg for the 2015 model year, but it wasn't enough. Such a performance likely only put the automaker in a last-place tie with General Motors. The emissions credits purchased from Tesla are notable because that California-based maker of electric vehicles has long generated substantial revenue by selling various credits to its less-electrified counterparts. In 2013, Tesla sold more of California's ZEV credits than any other automaker, but Nissan took that title in 2014. While these are not the same as the EPA's GHG credits, they do offer another way to track which automakers are meeting the targets and which need help. Ferrari borrows $2.6 billion to finance FCA spinoff

Tue, Dec 1 2015

Ferrari announced Monday that it is borrowing about $2.6 billion to finance its spinoff from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Here's how it breaks down: Ferrari NV, the automaker's parent company based in the Netherlands, is taking out loans totaling 2.5 billion euros. That's equivalent to $2.64 billion at current exchange rates, and is divided between a term loan of $2.12 billion and a revolving credit facility of $529 million. The larger term loan "will be used to refinance indebtedness owing to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles," among other purposes. That ought to constitute the lion's share of the $2.38 billion which the Prancing Horse marque was, according to reports last year, slated to pay its current parent company in order to help FCA fund its ambitious growth plans. The separate line of credit is earmarked "to be used from time to time for general corporate and working capital purposes of the Ferrari group." Though Ferrari is not expected to take any other Fiat Chrysler properties with it, the "group" in this case would include its various financial services and distribution arms around the world that may have been separately incorporated. As noted in the statement below, the financial arrangement "represents a further step towards the separation of Ferrari from the FCA Group," following the separate stock issues from both companies as independent from each other. FERRARI N.V. SIGNS ˆ2.5 BILLION SYNDICATED CREDIT FACILITY Ferrari N.V. (NYSE: RACE) ("Ferrari") announced today that it has entered into a ˆ2.5 billion syndicated loan facility with a group of ten bookrunner banks. The facility comprises a bridge loan (the "Bridge Loan") and a term loan (the "Term Loan") of ˆ2 billion in aggregate and a revolving credit facility of ˆ500 million (the "RCF"). Proceeds of the Bridge Loan and Term Loan will be used to refinance indebtedness owing to Fiat Chrysler AutomobilesN.V. (NYSE: FCAU) ("FCA") and other indebtedness and for other general corporate purposes. Proceeds of the RCF may be used from time to time for general corporate and working capital purposes of the Ferrari group. The Bridge Loan has a 12 month maturity with an option for Ferrari to extend once for a six-month period. Ferrari intends to refinance the Bridge Loan prior to its maturity with longer term debt, including through capital markets or other financing transactions. The Term Loan, which comprises a majority of the total facility, and the RCF each have a maturity of five years.

Pininfarina launches Classiche certification program for vintage cars

Tue, Jan 23 2024

Pininfarina is focused on its future as a carmaker, but it's not forgetting about its past as a design house and contract manufacturer. The brand launched a certification program called Pininfarina Classiche that aims to give enthusiasts valuable details about their vintage car. Only two cars will initially be certifiable by Pininfarina: the four evolutions of the Alfa Romeo Spider built between 1966 and 1993 and the different versions of the Fiat 124 Spider sold from 1966 to 1985. Pininfarina designed both roadsters, and it notably took over production and sales of the Fiat model in 1982. American sales of the Pininfarina-badged Spider started for 1984 following Fiat's exit from our market. The certification service aims to provide collectors with production-related data about their car. This includes the chassis number, the market it was built for, the original paint and upholstery colors, the date that the car left Pininfarina's factory, as well as any and all other details that are available, such as the engine number and, for convertibles, the color of the soft top. Pininfarina notes that it waited until 2024 to offer this service because providing it required cataloging its archives, which took about two years, and using an archive management software. Enthusiasts who want to get their car certified need to reach out to Pininfarina. The firm will look through its archives and give the customer a list of what's available. The certification costs ˆ400 (about $430) for cars built before 1980 and ˆ300 (around $330) for post-1980 models.  Pininfarina has designed and built dozens of cars since its inception in 1930, and it plans to expand its Classiche service in the near future. It notes that its archives department includes production serial numbers for over 700,000 cars and more than 20,000 historical documents such as design sketches, technical blueprints, photos taken on the assembly line, and correspondence with the carmakers it worked with.
