1969 Fiat 500 Gamine on 2040-cars
Somis, California, United States
1966 Fiat 500 Gamine by Vignale There were less than 300 of these cars built and very few of these are left in existence, especially in this type of condition. This car received a full nut and bolt restoration about 6 years ago. This car has a 500cc, two cylinder air cooled gasoline engine with a 4 speed gearbox. The car starts easily and runs well. It is painted red and the interior is tan with red piping. A black tonneau is included. There are a couple of tiny chips and small paint drips, and a slight buckling of the glove compartment door, all easily repaired and truly don’t stick out. You can see everything in the pictures. A NON REFUNDABLE $2000 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of the Auction end. This car is presented as is and not covered by warranty. If no contact is made within 48 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it otherwise. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. I strongly encourage a physical inspection to avoid any misunderstandings or representations. Feel free to ask any questions. I can be reached at (310) 701-6668. You will find many Jolly’s for sale but you will see very few of these. The car is still visually stunning today |

GM says it will not sell Opel, Fiat still ready to buy
Fri, 05 Oct 2012Automotive News reports General Motors has no interest in selling Opel. The statement comes after an Italian newspaper implied Fiat was ready to buy the brand should the alliance between GM and PSA/Peugeot Citroen fail. The publication reported that Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne is already crafting a proposal to acquire the German brand in the event GM calls it quits, using a strategy similar to the one that saw Fiat win Chrysler.
Fiat has declined to comment on the situation, but GM Vice Chairman Stephen Grisky said in a statement that GM stands behind Opel and that the brand is "a fully integrated part of GM's global footprint."
Grisky also said the GM-PSA alliance is still strong.
Fiat/PSA's dominance in small vans hangs up EU's merger approval
Mon, Jun 8 2020BRUSSELS — EU antitrust regulators are concerned about Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot / PSA's combined high market share in small vans and may require concessions to clear their $50 billion merger, people familiar with the matter said. The companies, which are seeking to create the world's fourth biggest carmaker, were told of the European Commission's concerns last week. If Fiat and PSA fail to dispel the European Commission's doubts in the next two days and subsequently decline to offer concessions by Wednesday, the deadline for doing so, the deal would face a four-month-long investigation. The EU competition enforcer, which has set a June 17 deadline for its preliminary review, declined to comment. Fiat was not immediately available for comment while PSA had no immediate comment. Hiving off overlapping businesses, usually a regulatory demand to ensure more competition, could prove tricky for the carmakers because of the technicalities. Fiat and PSA are looking to merge to help offset slowing demand and shoulder the cost of making cleaner vehicles to meet tougher emissions regulations. The deal puts under one roof the Italian carmaker's brands such as Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Maserati and the French company's Peugeot, Opel and DS. Street Glory Mappers turning cars into dynamic billboards like this
Fri, 04 Jul 2014A French marketing firm with the impenetrable name of Street Glory Mappers is literally turning cars into billboards. Of course, we've all seen vehicles painted up for promotional use, but this company is taking that concept even further by including video.
Street Glory Mappers equips the vehicles with a large video screen behind the windshield to play whatever is being advertised. According to the company's promo, it may even be possibly to sync up the vehicle's lights with the show, as well. The firm claims that it's a great form of temporary, mobile marketing because the car can arrive at the location, play the video and then go away when the prospective audience leaves.
While it doesn't necessarily seem any more effective than other forms of advertising, the firm's idea is at least unobtrusive. After all, it's easier to ignore a stationary car than a person handing out flyers. However, vehicle flashing its lights and playing video could certainly distract other drivers.
