MOST TESTAROSSAS WERE RED! THIS 512 TR FERRARI IS 1 OF 1 YELLOW /BLACK TESTAROSSA'S LISTED ON THE TESTAROSSA, 512 TR, 512 M REGISTRY. THIS CAR IS IN EXQUISITE CONDITION WITH ALL OPTIONS WORKING INCLUDING ICE COLD A/C . THE INTERIOR IS IN NEARLY UNMARKED CONDITION AND VERY CONSISTENT WITH A WELL MAINTAINED 21 YEAR OLD FERRARI. THE BRAKES ARE PERFECT, CAR DRIVES STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW AND GEARBOX IS FLAWLESS!!! THE CAR DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS. THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY A PIECE OF FERRARI HISTORY AND WOULD MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO ANY COLLECTION!!! OWNERS MANUAL, DOCUMENTATION OF RECENT BELT SERVICE, TESTAROSSA DIE CAST MODELS AND SEVERAL VINTAGE AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINES FEATURING THE INTRODUCTION OF THE FERRARI 512 TR WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED. DO NOT BE MISTAKEN, THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY TESTAROSSA!!! POPULAR AS IT WAS THE TESTAROSSA NEEDED UPGRADING AND FERRARI WANTED TO INCREASE HORSEPOWER, LOWER WEIGHT , LOWER CENTER OF GRAVITY, ADD STIFFER FRAME, NEW STEERING GEOMETRY , MORE RESISTANT BRAKES AND BETTER PROGRESSIONS SO THE 512 TR WAS BORN! THIS IS REALLY A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CAR NOT JUST A RE-DONE TESTAROSSA. THE ENGINEERS WHO DEVELOPED THE 512 TR HAD THE F40 AS A REFERENCE POINT, AND LESSONS LEARNED WEREN'T LOST ON THEM. LURKING UNDER THAT BODYWORK IS ABOUT THREE-QUARTERS OF AN F40 WITH ALL THE CONVENIENCES OF ANY MODERN LUXURY GT. UPGRADES INCLUDED IMPROVED HANDLING, NEW FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS AND A PAIR OF LARGE DRIVING LIGHTS AND AND A SMALLER GRILL, NEW LARGER SLIMMER 5 SPOKED ALLOY WHEELS AND TIRES, NEW HUGE CROSS - DRILLED DISC BRAKES ALL AWAY AROUND AND ALUMINUM CALIPERS WITH LARGER PISTONS AND A REDESIGNED INTERIOR THAT INCLUDED A NEW SEAT DESIGN THAT PROVIDED A MIX OF ITALIAN STYLING AND DRIVING FUNCTION AND AN AROMA LIKE THAT OF A NEW LEATHER BRIEFCASE. THE REAL CHANGES ARE UNDERNEATH INCLUDING A FLAT-12, A WORK OF ART IN ITSELF, THAT ADDED 50 MORE HORSEPOWER AND WIDER TORQUE CURVE ADDING TO THE FLEXIBILITY AND NOTICEABLE HIGHER REDLINE. CYLINDERS ARE NOW MADE OF ALUMINUM WITH NIKASIL COATING AND INTAKE VALVES ARE LARGER AND THE PISTONS ARE NEW RESULTING IN UPPING THE COMPRESSION FROM 8.7:1 TO 10.0:1. WITH HIGHER COMPRESSION CAME NEW HEAD GASKETS AND COOLANT CIRCULATION PATTERN. A NEW MANIFOLD AND AIR BOXES AID BREATHING INTO THE CYLINDERS WHILE NEW EXHAUST MANIFOLDS DO THE OPPOSITE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. POWER GOES OUT THROUGH A SINGLE-PLATE CLUTCH AND INTO A 5 SPEED MANUAL GEARBOX, THE IMPORTANT PART HERE IS THAT THE DRIVETRAIN IS MOUNTED ABOUT AN INCH LOWER THAN BEFORE HELPING DROP THE CENTER OF GRAVITY. THE CHASSIS BOASTS INCREASED RIGIDITY THANKS TO ADDED PANELS TO STIFFEN THE CHASSIS AND SUBFRAMES. THIS RARE 512 TR IS ABSOLUTELY DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!! IT LOOKS AND SMELLS LIKE NEW, IT HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY WELL MAINTAINED AND JUST UNDERWENT AN EXTENSIVE ENGINE - OUT SERVICE THAT INCLUDED THE CHANGE OF TIMING BELTS AND BEARINGS, VALVE ADJUSTMENT, REPLACEMENT OF CAM SEALS AND REPLACEMENT OF ALL FLUIDS AT 17,800 MILES ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2013!!! . AS YOU KNOW THIS SERVICE IS NECESSARY AND EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SO YOU CAN HAVE THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE WHEN PURCHASING THIS 512 TR!!! THE ENGINE WAS ALSO METICULOUSLY DETAILED DURING THE SERVICE WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OUT OF THE CAR. THE 512 TR IS CONSIDERED AN ICONIC FERRARI. THERE ARE VERY FEW FERRARI MODELS THAT WERE BUILT THAT BOASTED A REAR V12 ENGINE!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE LAST OF THOSE RARE MODELS. THE CAR DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY AND IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT. UPGRADES INCLUDE TUBI EXHAUST, YELLOW BREMBO BRAKE CALIPERS AND A STATE OF THE ART SOUND SYSTEM BY SONY THAT INCLUDES A REMOVABLE FACE LOCATED IN THE HIDDEN DASH COMPARTMENT. AS STATED BEFORE, THE BRAKES WORK PERFECTLY AND THE CLUTCH IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. THERE ARE NO KNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUES. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY, THE POWER WINDOWS AND ALL CONSOLE SWITCHES WORK AS THEY SHOULD AND THE HEAT BLOWS WARM AND THE A/C BLOWS COLD!!! THE DOORS, TRUNK AND ENGINE HATCH OPEN AS NEW WITH NO FLAWS. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DRIVE THIS CAR CROSS COUNTRY!!! THIS 512 TR IS AN EXCEPTIONAL VALUE AND PRICES ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE RISING ON THESE ICONIC VEHICLES SINCE THE REAR ENGINE V12 FERRARI IS A RARE BREED. PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!! FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AAT 703-625-1285 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. |

Ferrari boss Montezemolo expects big changes from FIA
Mon, 02 Dec 2013You'd think that with former Ferrari principal Jean Todt running the FIA, the relationship between the motorsport governing body and the team he once called home would be a solid one. But his former boss expects more from the organization that overseas Formula One.
In a recent interview (excerpts from which you can read below), Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo pointed to some perceived inconsistencies in rulings made by FIA officials this season and called for "strong changes." Among those controversies was a drive-through penalty handed to Felipe Massa at the season-closing Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend, his last for the Scuderia. Massa was reprimanded for cutting across the white line that marks the exit from the pit lane, the penalty for which dropped him from fourth place in the race to seventh, and cost Ferrari its second place in the final standings for the constructors' championship - and with it a good $10 million in prize money. Montezemolo characterized the penalty as "disproportionate and unjust".
The Ferrari chief also pointed to penalties handed to Mercedes as either too harsh or not harsh enough, calling for greater consistency in FIA rulings and implying that more permanent race stewards be appointed instead of alternating race to race.
FCA likely won't sell more than 10% of Ferrari stake
Fri, Apr 17 2015The initial public offering of Ferrari on the stock market is likely coming in the second or third quarter of this year, but apparently the exact stake of the Prancing Horse set to hit the exchange isn't final. When FCA first announced the plan to spin off Ferrari, the idea was for 10 percent of the stock to go on the open market in the US and maybe also in Europe. Another 10 percent would go to company vice chairman and Enzo's son Piero Ferrari, and the remaining 80 percent would be divided among current shareholders, including a large portion for the Agnelli family. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne hasn't finished tweaking those numbers, though. Last month, he indicated the automaker might put more than 10 percent of Ferrari on the market to boost liquidity. However, the original proposal has now returned to the table. "I don't believe we will go above 10 percent," Marchionne said, according to Automotive News, but also noted things weren't final. By increasing the Ferrari stock on the open market for the IPO, FCA decreases the amount going to current shareholders, according to Automotive News. With that being the case, don't expect too much of the Prancing Horse to be offered up to investors when the stock hits the market. Related Video:
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta takes home 2014 Robb Report Car of the Year [w/video]
Tue, 25 Mar 2014In what is being called an "unprecedented landslide decision," those who have the right to cast votes have anointed the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta as the 2014 Robb Report Car of the Year. Standout features that have helped the Ferrari earn such a runaway victory include its 0-60 blast of 3.1 seconds, its 211-mile-per-hour top speed and the exhaust note of its 731-horsepower V12 engine.
After being driven by a team of journalists and 100 or so members of the private Robb Report Club, the grand tourer beat out a total of 13 contenders that included the Audi R8 V10 Plus, Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Jaguar F-Type V8 S, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe, Maserati Quattroporte GTS and Dodge SRT Viper GTS.
This is the 21st year that Robb Report has selected a Car of the Year. Scroll down below for the official announcement and video, and feel free to read more about the F12 Berlinetta and some of its worthwhile competitors over at Robb Report.
