Ferrari family won't sell stake in company

Ferrari may be splitting off from the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group and launching its IPO independently, but those stocks it's going to float are coming out of Fiat's hands. The small portion still held by the Ferrari family looks destined to stay in their control for the time being. According to the latest report from Reuters, Enzo's son Piero says he has no intention of selling any of the 10 percent interest he and his family hold in the company founded by his late father. "I have never sold and I have no intention of doing so," said Piero, as quoted in the report. Piero Ferrari is the illegitimate son of Enzo Ferrari and his mistress Lina Lardi. His half-brother Dino died in his twenties from complications associated with muscular dystrophy, and in accordance with Italian custom, Piero was only acknowledged as Enzo's heir after the death of the father in 1988. Representing the family's holdings, Piero still acts as vice-chairman of the company but devotes his day-to-day to running aerospace manufacturer Piaggio Aero. Ken Block's Gymkhana 8 to feature Dubai Police cars?

Yesterday we showed you the shiny Ford Fiesta that Ken Block will slide, spin, and hoon through the next Gymkhana video. In case the image above isn't clear, that video will drop at midnight EST on February 30th on the Ford Performance YouTube channel. We don't know all the entire premise of the video yet, but this Tweet from the man himself reveals that the video will be set in Dubai. Block is standing on the Fiesta we saw yesterday, and arrayed behind him are a handful of those famous Dubai Police cars you're probably familiar with. The force has a fleet of sportscars and supercars, and the purpose is outreach and goodwill among its citizenry, not necessarily the pursuit of criminals. This content is hosted by a third party. From left to right, we can see a Maserati GranTurismo, Porsche 911, what looks to be a Nissan GT-R obscured by Block's Fiesta, a McLaren (likely a 650S), Ford Mustang, and a Ferrari 599 of some ilk. Ferrari boss Montezemolo expects big changes from FIA

You'd think that with former Ferrari principal Jean Todt running the FIA, the relationship between the motorsport governing body and the team he once called home would be a solid one. But his former boss expects more from the organization that overseas Formula One.
In a recent interview (excerpts from which you can read below), Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo pointed to some perceived inconsistencies in rulings made by FIA officials this season and called for "strong changes." Among those controversies was a drive-through penalty handed to Felipe Massa at the season-closing Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend, his last for the Scuderia. Massa was reprimanded for cutting across the white line that marks the exit from the pit lane, the penalty for which dropped him from fourth place in the race to seventh, and cost Ferrari its second place in the final standings for the constructors' championship - and with it a good $10 million in prize money. Montezemolo characterized the penalty as "disproportionate and unjust".
The Ferrari chief also pointed to penalties handed to Mercedes as either too harsh or not harsh enough, calling for greater consistency in FIA rulings and implying that more permanent race stewards be appointed instead of alternating race to race.
