Watch Edo Competition pit a Ferrari FXX against a Maserati MC12 Corsa on the 'Ring

High-zoot supercar tour organizer Gran Turismo Events held its annual Nürburgring track day last month, and in addition to the amateur punters the gates were opened to two tuned supercars from Edo Competition: A Maserati MC12 Corsa and a Ferrari Enzo ZXX. The ZXX, in case you've forgotten, is the same love child of Edo Competition and Zahir Rana's ZR Exotics that belly flopped into the Atlantic during the 2011 Targa Newfoundland.
We get a trip around the Nordschleife with both cars during a no-doubt quick but not insane lap, on board with driver Patrick Simon in the 755-horsepower MC12 and 'Ring queen Sabine Schmitz following in the 840-hp ZXX.

Automotive barn finds are exciting for the thrill and surprise of the hunt. Of course, you're far more likely to find a rusting Chevy under a tarp, but there's always that chance to scoop up a forgotten Porsche or Shelby for a song. That aspect makes the massive Roger Baillon Collection so bittersweet. There were so many great classics sitting under an open shed in France, but they were there so long that many of them became just bare husks. Ahead of the February 6 auction in Paris, auction house Artcurial has released descriptions and images of the entire 59-car hoard. While the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider and 1956 Maserati A6G 2000 Gran Sport Berlinetta Frua remain the stars, there are a few surprises among the bunch. The original announcement makes no mention of several modern Ferraris – at least compared to the rest of the collection – among the lots. They include a thoroughly beat 1982 308 GTSi without headlights and portions of the paint gone. There's also a 1988 Mondial Cabriolet that looks good on the outside, but Artcurial says needs a mechanical overhaul. A rather attractive gray 1978 400 GT is in similar condition. Xcar celebrates Ferrari F12 Berlinetta as the end of an era

Few automakers are still making V12s. And even fewer of them are still naturally aspirated. The Bentley Continental, Rolls-Royce Wraith, BMW 760i, Mercedes S600, Pagani Huayra... they're all twin-turbocharged. That makes the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta something of a dying breed, and a masterpiece to be celebrated – as Xcar has in this latest video. With a 6.3-liter V12 up front under that long bonnet, driving 730 horsepower to the rear wheels, the F12 is old school – and perhaps the best of that old school before downsized turbocharged engines and hybrids finally take over for good. That'd consign atmospheric twelves like the Berlinetta, the Lamborghini Aventador and all those Aston Martins to the dustbin of history as the last of their kind.
