1955 Belgian GP movie tells the story of Spa

With the Belgian Formula One Grand Prix happening this weekend, Shell reminded a few guests what the Spa-Francorchamps track and Belgian countryside were like in 1955. That year the petroleum company made a 30-minute movie about the grand prix - this is back when the track was called the Francorchamps National Circuit, near the town of Spa, and a list of its important corners didn't include a mention of Eau Rouge - where it was doing the same thing it still does today: working on fuels and lubricants via its technical partnership with Ferrari.
To create the mood, journalists were invited to a vintage cinema where they mingled with Ferrari F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and other extras in period fifties gear, and watched a screening of 1955 Belgian Grand Prix. Kimi Raikkonen returns to Ferrari

The so-called "silly season" in Formula One conjured up all kinds of rumors, and most of them revolved around Kimi Raikkonen. Would the 2007 World Champion stay at Lotus? Would he switch to Red Bull to replace Mark Webber? Would he return to Ferrari?
Well now we have the answer. Ferrari has confirmed that the Finn is heading back to Maranello, where he will partner with Fernando Alonso starting next season in a two-year deal. That means Felipe Massa, who has been at Ferrari since 2006 but has struggled to keep up the pace since his catastrophic crash in 2009, will need to find a new seat.
The announcement opens up a series of questions as a game of musical chairs commences. Where will Massa go? Who will fill Raikkonen's seat at Lotus? And will Alonso tolerate the team bringing in another former champion and serious contender to challenge his position as number one at the top team? We'll just have to wait and see, but the move in and of itself demonstrates a certain businesslike lack of personal emotion on Kimi's part, having been unceremoniously dumped by Ferrari three years ago to make way for Alonso. Ferrari replacing fuel tanks on limited number of LaFerraris

Ferrari is working to repair an issue with its flagship LaFerrari hypercar, but the automaker claims the problem is not as drastic as some widely-circulated rumors would have you believe. In response to our inquiry into the matter, a Ferrari spokesperson told Autoblog that "no recall has been issued regarding the LaFerrari." Instead, the company tells us that "some clients have been invited to take their cars to an authorized service center to substitute the fuel tank with a new one with new paint." The issue seems to revolve around "a possible incorrect adhesion of a layer of paint on the fuel tank," which could result in a fire. Contrary to rumors that suggested the issue would affect every example of the seven-figure supercar built to date and would take several weeks to repair, we're told that "the time to change the fuel tank is relatively short and the intervention concerns only a limited number of LaFerraris." That "relatively short" time period, we're told, "takes approximately one day," and "all of the cars have already been serviced in the US." As to whether this constitutes a recall or simply a suggested service as Ferrari claims, however, is a matter that's open to interpretation. Related Video:
