Description:  The 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider is a head-turning, jaw-dropping hard top convertible supercar that will have your adrenaline pumping through every turn and straightaway.  There really is nothing like having the roof fold away with the press of a button then doing 0-60 in 3 seconds. It is a true high performance luxury machine.

Exterior:  The classic Italian lines mixed with the futuristic headlights/taillights, and the way everything just flows together seamlessly assures you that you will not see another car like this on the road.  The car comes in the beautiful Scuderia Red that just pops in any light. It also has various carbon fiber trim throughout, as well as bright yellow Brembo brake calipers and large carbon fiber drilled rotors for maximum stopping power. This car is brand new with only 323 miles.

Interior: The interior of the 458 Spider is nothing short of spectacular.  The black leather seats, steering wheel, and dashboard are accented by red stitching and carbon fiber and it just looks incredible, it will be difficult to find another car with a nicer interior.  The big central tachometer with LCD screens on either side that display radio stations, turn by turn navigation, etc, makes it easy to pay attention to the road while at the same time having access to everything through the steering wheel.  With the press of a button the roof neatly folds away into a compartment in between the engine and the driver, which leaves a small area for storage.

Drivetrain:
This car is powered by a ferocious 562 HP 4.5L V8 that is mated to a lightning quick 7-speed F1 dual clutch transmission that snaps off shifts in the blink of an eye.  There is only a thin divider between the engine and the driver, and that means there's a symphony of mechanical excellence each and every time you fire it up and plant your foot.

Here is a list of the car's options:

-AFS system
-Yellow brake calipers
-Underdoor cover
-Carbon fiber driver zone+ LEDs
-Carbon fiber central bridge
-Suspension lifter
-Horse stitched on headrests
-Heat insulating windscreen

Ferrari names Edwin Fenech head of North American office

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

Ferrari North America has been sailing without a captain for the past several months since its previous chief executive, Marco Mattiacci, was called home to Italy to run the Scuderia. But now the Italian automaker has announced a new capo to run the office in New Jersey, and his name is Edwin Fenech.
Not to be confused with the French-Italian actress Edwige Fenech (who obviously showed up in our research before the Ferrari exec did), Edwin Fenech has a long history of running regional offices for the Prancing Horse marque. Prior to making the jump to the North American division, Fenech ran the company's operations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and China, and previously served as sales and marketing director for France and sales manager for all of Europe.
Now in charge of Ferrari's largest market, Fenech will be responsible for expanding the company's presence not only in the United States - in which Ferrari has been present now for sixty years - but also in Canada as well as Central and South America.

Scuderia Ferrari dreams up the F1 car of the future

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Formula One is in for a big shakeup, at least if all the parties can agree on a way forward at a meeting of the F1 commission today in Geneva. And this is the way Ferrari apparently hopes things will go. Dreamt up by the design department in Maranello, this concept represents Ferrari's vision for the F1 car of the future. Its got far more streamlined aerodynamics, a two-tier front wing, a much larger rear wing, and wheels that are still "open" but far more enveloped than anything we've seen to date, wrapped in low-profile tires like those proposed by Pirelli. The cockpit is still open as well, contrary to proposals to enclose them, with a conceptual helmet design that seems to meld into the bodywork – though we're not quite sure how that would be implemented, practically speaking. It's a pretty striking design, especially compared to the oddball shapes to which modern grand prix racers have evolved over recent years, with all their fragile appendages. Actually putting this into practice, though, is another matter entirely. Both McLaren and Red Bull were said to have shown their own evolutionary designs to the F1 strategy group, though they didn't release theirs to the public. This pie-in-the-sky proposal from Ferrari looks a bit closer to some of the radical, futuristic designs penned by Red Bull for Gran Turismo. Ferrari dominant at high-priced RM Auctions' Monterey event

Sun, 17 Aug 2014

Of the 21 multi-million-dollar lots sold over RM Auctions' two-day Monterey event, the top six were Ferraris while the top four were members of the vaunted 275 family. In total, 13 of the 21 seven- and eight-figure entries bore the yellow shield and prancing horse of the Scuderia.
Two cars in particular wowed bidders at the Monterey event - the exceptionally rare Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale and a 275 GTB/4 that was originally owned by Hollywood legend Steve McQueen.
The GTB/C Speciale was the first of a three-car run. Ferrari originally planned on campaigning the new range as a GT complement to its prototype entries at Le Mans, although squabbles with the FIA limited its racing career. Still, the extremely rare nature of this car means another example probably won't be coming up for auction for several years. Considering that, the GTB/C's selling price of $26.4 million does make a bit of sense.
