Steve McQueen's Ferrari 275 GTB/4 to be auctioned in Monterey

We know from many, many years of watching classic car auctions, that there are certain qualities that ensure big money. For example, putting tiny silver horses and/or yellow badges on a red car will probably bring in a lot of cash. This is doubly true if said car hails from the 1950s or 1960s, and it's triply true if some dude drove it around in circles or if a celebrity owned it. That, friends, is how you make the serious dosh at auction.
Considering that, we should expect big, big things when this 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 crosses the block at the big RM Auctions event during the festivities surrounding the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Terrence Steven McQueen, better known as Steve McQueen and even better known as the coolest actor of the 1960s and 1970s, originally purchased this car while filming Bullitt in San Francisco, which should provide a big boost to its sale price.

Take a moment to conjure some worthy answers to this question: "What can I do in a [Ferrari] Testarossa that's a really good road journey?" Then imagine yourself saying, "Tomorrow we're off to the Sahara in my Testarossa." If you were Evo magazine impresario Harry Metcalfe, those would be the kinds of Q&A sessions you'd have with yourself, and thankfully he's put the question and the answer in a fantastic 29-minute video. That answer was 2,500-mile journey out of London, on boat from Portsmouth, England, to Santander, Spain, a ferry from Tarifa, Spain, to Tangier, Morocco, a drive to Marrakech, over the snowy alpine-looking Tizi n'Tichka Pass, to Erfoud, and then to the dunes of Sahara. It involved some bribes, a twice broken-down Testarossa, confiscation of a drone, tons of speed traps and at least one ticket, a pair of lucky pants, some phenomenal scenery, and Ferrari sounds, including a long stint off-roading on a washboard track. Watch this Ferrari Enzo get thrown around on farm roads

Tax the Rich, the YouTubers who seem to have sprung from some mischievous corner of the V for Vendetta universe, have somehow acquired a Ferrari Enzo for their latest trick. Last time we checked in with them, they were opposite-locking a Rolls-Royce Phantom at high speed all over a wet, muddy field. Perhaps knowing that if they repeated that with the Ferrari they'd end up with a dead stallion and a field full of carbon fiber parts, they kept the action to a mostly paved farm access road.
But still - using an Enzo for a tarmac rally stage is something we would not have though of, and there's a fair bit of water and mud, too. As Joseph Campanella used to say way back when, "What will they think of next?" Check out the video below and prepare to gaze in equal measures of shock, wonder and horror.
