Limited-run Ferrari F12 GTO supposedly headed to Frankfurt

After spy shots of a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in Italy wearing some sticky rear-end camo went public, insiders have told GTspirit that the car is an F12 GTO and it will come to this year's Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It's hinted that the Gran Turimso Omologato changes to the 6.3-liter V12 up front might increase output from 731 horsepower to 800 hp by using the HY-KERS unit from the LaFerrari. That module provides an extra 163 hp to the supercar. True to GTO form, more power would come with less weight, the purported F12 GTO going on a diet of more than 100 kilograms (220 pounds). That would get matters of mass down to a stated curb weight of around 3,140 pounds. More technology could make the jump from its supercar sibling, all hidden underneath more aggressive bodywork and a GTO badge. A production volume of just 650 cars is mentioned, which, if true, would give buyers more chance to procure one; the Ferrari only made 599 units of the 599 GTO. LaFerrari 3D model adds depth to Maranello's new supercar

At its recent Geneva Motor Show unveiling, we couldn't help but spend a good long time gawking at the new LaFerrari supercar. It isn't just that it's the newest top-line Ferrari, or even that it picks up where the Enzo left off - it's just that there's so much to look at, from the ductwork in its long nose to the delicate artistry of its sideview mirrors. There's so much aerodynamic wizardry in play on every surface that you just want to pick it up in your hand and look underneath to take a closer look every which way - even underneath.
Sadly that's not possible, but we may just have the next best thing. Drive inks 10-episode deal with NBC Sports Network

Today is a good day for Chris Harris, Mike Spinelli and Matt Farah, the hosts of the entertaining YouTube series Drive. The show has officially moved from the world of online video and become an actual, honest-to-goodness television show.
In addition to its YouTube exploits, which will continue, ten episodes of the show will air on the NBC Sports Network. The debut will run this Saturday, and coincide with NBCSN's coverage of the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix. From the sounds of it, this first episode should be unlike anything the trio could do on the Internet.
The team is going on a Top Gear-like trans-European adventure in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series, a Ferrari F12 and a McLaren 650S. The three will converge on Monaco, and explore the legendary atmosphere that surrounds the principality when the Formula One World Championship rolls into town.
