The four valve per cylinder 308QV did not arrive until 1983 and all prior 308s only had less powerful 2 valve motors. You are looking at a nearly restored Ferrari 308QV GTSi, the closet evolution of the 308 to the legendary GTO. It features (1) the small front and rear GTO style bumpers, (2) the white and amber turn signal assemblies like the GTO, (3) a front grill with a prancing horse and (4) fog lamps set in the grill similar to the GTO while also featuring (5) smaller more graceful side view mirrors and (6) a deep dish GTO-style front spoiler. The engine was removed and refreshed by a Ferrari specialist at a cost of $14k (new rings, new valve guides, etc.) The mechanical components were refreshed, cleansed and detailed making the drivetrain pretty, show worthy and reliable. The entire process was photo-documented as well and of course this collection of photos comes with the car.

Ferrari celebrates 10 million Facebook fans, animates Montezemolo

Kia has 2.1 million fans on Facebook, though we'd wager that far more people worldwide own Kias than are fans of the Korean automaker's page. On the other hand, Ferrari, whose owners number just a lucky few, has a legion of fans counted in the millions. In fact, the Facebook page for the Italian automaker just surpassed 10 million Likes.
To celebrate this social media milestone, Ferrari has put together this cute little video below, featuring chairman Luca di Montezemolo, as well as a few other animated guest appearances.
For comparison's sake, major corporations like Pepsi have 9.1 million fans, Kohl's has 9.7 million fans, and Wal-Mart has 25+ million fans. For a car company that sells a few thousand units a year, 10+ million upstretched thumbs is quite the following.

1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Sells For $38 Million At Auction

A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO became the most expensive car ever sold during an automotive auction Thursday night when a buyer paid $38 million for the vehicle at a Bonhams event. Only 39 of the racers were ever built, and it is a favorite among collectors. One reportedly sold for $52 million in a private sale. If true, it would be the most expensive car ever purchased. Another Ferrari GTO built for legendary racecar driver Stirling Moss sold for $35 million in 2012. Thursday's sale broke the auction record set at a Goodwood auction last year of a Mercedes W196R that was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio to wins in the 1954 German and Swiss Grand Prix races by $8 million. Pretty good for a car that went to the auction block with no reserve, meaning there was no minimum price set for the sale of the car, though bidding started at $11 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. The Ferrari 250 GTO was the star of the show, but it wasn't the only rare Ferrari on the auction block. Bonhams brought ten of the most collectable Ferraris in the world on stage, including a 1962 250 GT Short-Wheelbase Speciale Aerodinamica that went for $6.875 million, a 1953 250 Mille Miglia Berlinetta driven to racing victory by Phil Hill for $7.26 million and even a 1978 312 T3 Formula One car for $2.31 million. All told, the Ferraris sold for $65.945 million, according to Autoblog.

Ferrari releases teaser video for 458 Speciale

As is the specs weren't enough, Ferrari is helping us get ready for the reveal of the 458 Speciale at the Frankfurt Motor Show with a short teaser video. You won't get much in the way of a full-body modeling session, naturally, but there are plenty of close-ups of its intakes, scoops, vanes, seriously racy bucket seats and lots and lots of carbon fiber.
And showing how omnipresent on-camera surveillance can sometimes be a good thing, the harder 458 has already been caught being tinkered with in digital photos taken at Maranello. For the moving pictures, however, there's that video below.
