2001 Ferrari 360 Spider F1 on 2040-cars
|
2001 Ferrari Spider (Euro) Original and only owner. The VIN is ZFFYT53B000125373. This is a European specification car that I bought new while I was living in London. I determined early on that the car was better suited to my vacation home in Florida and engaged Autosport Designs of Long Island, NY to do the EPA and DOT work. I titled the car in Florida in 2003 where it has remained. I returned from London in 2005 and have since been using the car regularly. Obviously not for the red/tan buyer, this monochromatic car is pretty low key for a Ferrari. The interior, roll hoops and convertible top are all in gray and the exterior is Argento Nurburgring. The car is accident-free and in excellent overall condition. The exterior has a few stone chips and there are a few small scratches over the rear bumper cover, but they are not really noticeable. I never tracked the car but I have driven it almost 24k miles. Chips happen. The interior is likewise in excellent condition. All the sticky switch gear has been cleaned or refinished. The upper dash shrunk, which is not uncommon under the Florida sun. I had it replaced by Ferrari and it remains in great condition. I had ceramic film installed on all glass to help prevent a reoccurrence. The driver’s seat shows a little wear (see photos), but it’s in great condition for being 13 years old. The passenger seat rarely held a passenger. The original floor mats were wearing out, so I added the ones pictured. The originals will go with the car. I'm happy to accommodate a pre-purchase inspection at buyer's expense. FACTORY OPTIONS: F1 transmission Gray convertible top Matching gray roll hoops CD / RDS stereo 6-disk cd changer HID headlights (option in European markets at the time) ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: OEM Ferrari Challenge wheels Capristo exhaust (no valves) Custom professionally installed sound system (Hertz, Audison
and Alpine) with Bluetooth Escort 9500ci radar/laser detection professionally installed HomeLink rearview mirror (with 3 memories) Challenge Stradale TCU Ceramic film on windows and windshield (70%-almost clear) Clear bra on front bumper Battery tender (hardwired) SERVICE HISTORY: The car has been timely and fully serviced exclusively by authorized Ferrari dealerships (first by Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale and more recently by Ferrari of Tampa Bay). I will gladly detail dates and descriptions of services performed but will not scan and email copies. Of course, the extensive and complete service history is available for in-person review by potential buyers or their representatives, and the records will go with to the new owner. The car underwent an annual service in Nov 2013. Before that, in May 2012 at 21,981 miles, the car underwent a belt service and had a new clutch installed, including new flywheel, ring gear, etc., etc., etc., to the tune of $16k after discount. Included in that service was a new A/C compressor to resolve a slow leak. The new owner will get a car with absolutely no deferred maintenance. All the weaknesses of the early 360s have been attended to. All the expensive work has been done and is current. ADDITIONAL NOTES: The stereo installation is reversible. I have all the original equipment, which will go to the new owner. I bought a second pair of door pockets for the custom door speaker installation (the speaker grills mimic the Hertz logo). I have the original door pockets, which will go to the new owner. Subwoofer enclosure is friction fit and easily removable for service (as pictured). I have the original wheels and tires (which are essentially unused), which will go to the new owner. WHAT’S INCLUDED: The car, as described The original covers for the car, seats and steering wheel The original flat tire repair kit The original complete tool kit The original complete complement of owner’s manuals,
including alarm and radio code cards The original wind buffer screen The original battery tender (European version) The original wheels and tires 1 red and 2 black remote keyfobs 2 keys (one unused) All original stereo equipment Original, unaltered door pockets Original floor mats All service records |

Ferrari Classiche returned this 275 GTB Competizione to million-dollar form
Mon, Apr 1 2019When this 275 GTB Competizione rolled into the hands of Ferrari Classiche, it was all out of sorts. Like so many of its brethren, it wore a red overcoat, but Giallo Fly yellow was its original color. The air intakes were mismatching lengths, the front suspension had an extra shock, certain areas of the bodywork were reshaped, and several other parts had been swapped throughout its adventurous life. With time and meticulous attention to detail, however, Classiche brought the GTB/C back up to Ferrari factory standards. Ferrari does not give an exact year of when it reattained chassis No. 09027, only saying it happened a few years after the car was sold at a 2004 Bonham's auction in Monte Carlo. Before that, it lived quite the tumultuous life. It left the factory on June 14, 1966, and four days later, it placed second in its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Pierre Noblet and Claude Dubois drove the No. 57 car for the Francorchamps team and finished 10th overall. According to Ferrari, the racing team made numerous on-the-fly adjustments, including cooling aero and fog lights, to make it properly race-ready. It later won the Mont Ventoux hillclimb, but was damaged during the Marathon de la Route race at the Nurburgring. The car returned to Maranello, and Carrozzeria Scaglietti, who originally built the car, fixed it up before it was sold to amateur racer Patrick McNally in 1967. McNally, after changing the car to silver, wrecked at the 1,000 km of Montlhery. Again, it was fixed, this time by Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. in the UK, and was painted red. Ferrari says the car bounced from owner to owner before it was sold at Monte Carlo. In addition to the previously mentioned issues, the Ferrari faced unoriginal parts that included the oil recovery tank, front brake discs, petrol tank, exhaust system, wheels, tires, steering wheel, and much of the interior. For some reason, the identification plaque had even been changed, but the important original pieces were there: the chassis and the engine. Today, the car is back to tip-top shape and more valuable than ever. Back in 2015, a Barrett-Jackson auction saw a 1966 Ferrari GTB Competizione sell for $9.4 million. We have a feeling Ferrari will keep this one, though. See full photos in The Official Ferrari Magazine. Weekly Recap: Takeaways from the Frankfurt Motor Show
Sat, Sep 19 2015We obsessively covered the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, and naturally, we selected our favorites from this fall's biggest automotive event. Now that the dust has settled, we're looking ahead to what it all means. Here are three takeaways from the floor in Frankfurt. The Germans are serious about electric vehicles: It's a bit cliche to say BMW, Mercedes, and Audi have downplayed electrics in favor of other technologies, like diesels. For a time that may have been true, but those three companies, along with Porsche and Volkswagen, are emerging as leaders in EV development. That was on display in Frankfurt, when all of them revealed either all-electric or plug-in hybrid models. Gas prices are relatively low in the United States, but clearly the Germans are thinking long-term and globally. Everyone is serious about SUVs: You gotta have one, even if you're Bentley or Jaguar. It's 2015 and it's what consumers want. As Jaguar design director Ian Callum put it, "Not to be in the sector would be a little naive for the sake of purity." It's not just the flashy exotic luxury makers. Nissan showed the Gripz concept, which is rakish, radical, and meant to blend traits of SUVs and sports cars into a vehicle that really crosses over. Look for more, especially in the luxury sector, as Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin ramp up their own SUV efforts. There's no ceiling to the luxury market: Speaking of high-end cars, companies are continuing to invest in extravagant wares beyond just SUVs. Even during the recession, ultra-luxury makers remained relevant, and now they're back at full stride. In Frankfurt, that was illustrated by yet another S-Class model, the cabriolet, which will come in S550 and S63 AMG variants in the United States. Ferrari also showed off the 488 Spider, and Lamborghini opened up the Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder. Meanwhile, Bugatti's Vision Grand Turismo concept reminded enthusiasts that it's plotting life after the Veyron. European auto shows always draw the glitziest reveals from luxury makers, and this year didn't disappoint. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Honda Civic redesigned with snazzier style, turbo power The 10th-generation of the Honda Civic debuted this week at events in Los Angeles and Detroit ahead of its launch in the United States this fall as a 2016 model. Honda fortified the Civic with LED lights, an available turbo engine, and a more tech-laden cabin.
Harry leaves his Garage to drive Ferrari 488 in Maranello
Fri, Feb 12 2016Harry Metcalfe doesn't need to go anywhere these days. He's handed over the reins of the Evo magazine he founded and gone into retirement, enjoying some quiet time with the many drool-inducing cars in his expansive garage. In other words, it would take quite the car to get him to leave the serenity of the English countryside and fly all the way down to Italy and its industrial north. The Ferrari 488 GTB is just such a car. The Prancing Horse marque's latest mid-engined V8 supercar should require no introduction. It's the successor to the celebrated 458 Italia and a long line that stretches back through the F430, 360 Modena, F355, 348, and 328 straight through to the 308 GTB that debuted in 1975. Only unlike its naturally aspirated predecessors, the 488 has gone twin-turbo to reconnect more with the likes of the F40 and 288 GTO. That leaves the atmospheric sector of this particular territory to the Lamborghini Huracan and its unassisted V10, while cozying up closer to the McLaren 650S. But does it make it any less of a Ferrari, or a less-than-worthy successor to the 458? That's what Harry set out to find out on the roads in and around the factory's home town of Maranello. Watch the video above to find out how it stacks up in his esteemed opinion.
