2001 Ferrari 360 Spider F1 on 2040-cars
|
2001 Ferrari Spider (Euro) Original and only owner. The VIN is ZFFYT53B000125373. This is a European specification car that I bought new while I was living in London. I determined early on that the car was better suited to my vacation home in Florida and engaged Autosport Designs of Long Island, NY to do the EPA and DOT work. I titled the car in Florida in 2003 where it has remained. I returned from London in 2005 and have since been using the car regularly. Obviously not for the red/tan buyer, this monochromatic car is pretty low key for a Ferrari. The interior, roll hoops and convertible top are all in gray and the exterior is Argento Nurburgring. The car is accident-free and in excellent overall condition. The exterior has a few stone chips and there are a few small scratches over the rear bumper cover, but they are not really noticeable. I never tracked the car but I have driven it almost 24k miles. Chips happen. The interior is likewise in excellent condition. All the sticky switch gear has been cleaned or refinished. The upper dash shrunk, which is not uncommon under the Florida sun. I had it replaced by Ferrari and it remains in great condition. I had ceramic film installed on all glass to help prevent a reoccurrence. The driver’s seat shows a little wear (see photos), but it’s in great condition for being 13 years old. The passenger seat rarely held a passenger. The original floor mats were wearing out, so I added the ones pictured. The originals will go with the car. I'm happy to accommodate a pre-purchase inspection at buyer's expense. FACTORY OPTIONS: F1 transmission Gray convertible top Matching gray roll hoops CD / RDS stereo 6-disk cd changer HID headlights (option in European markets at the time) ADDITIONAL OPTIONS: OEM Ferrari Challenge wheels Capristo exhaust (no valves) Custom professionally installed sound system (Hertz, Audison
and Alpine) with Bluetooth Escort 9500ci radar/laser detection professionally installed HomeLink rearview mirror (with 3 memories) Challenge Stradale TCU Ceramic film on windows and windshield (70%-almost clear) Clear bra on front bumper Battery tender (hardwired) SERVICE HISTORY: The car has been timely and fully serviced exclusively by authorized Ferrari dealerships (first by Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale and more recently by Ferrari of Tampa Bay). I will gladly detail dates and descriptions of services performed but will not scan and email copies. Of course, the extensive and complete service history is available for in-person review by potential buyers or their representatives, and the records will go with to the new owner. The car underwent an annual service in Nov 2013. Before that, in May 2012 at 21,981 miles, the car underwent a belt service and had a new clutch installed, including new flywheel, ring gear, etc., etc., etc., to the tune of $16k after discount. Included in that service was a new A/C compressor to resolve a slow leak. The new owner will get a car with absolutely no deferred maintenance. All the weaknesses of the early 360s have been attended to. All the expensive work has been done and is current. ADDITIONAL NOTES: The stereo installation is reversible. I have all the original equipment, which will go to the new owner. I bought a second pair of door pockets for the custom door speaker installation (the speaker grills mimic the Hertz logo). I have the original door pockets, which will go to the new owner. Subwoofer enclosure is friction fit and easily removable for service (as pictured). I have the original wheels and tires (which are essentially unused), which will go to the new owner. WHAT’S INCLUDED: The car, as described The original covers for the car, seats and steering wheel The original flat tire repair kit The original complete tool kit The original complete complement of owner’s manuals,
including alarm and radio code cards The original wind buffer screen The original battery tender (European version) The original wheels and tires 1 red and 2 black remote keyfobs 2 keys (one unused) All original stereo equipment Original, unaltered door pockets Original floor mats All service records |

Ferrari reveals extra 'speciale' 458
Tue, May 31 2016Ferrari revealed this creamy white riff on the 458 on Tuesday. But don't get too excited: It's a one-off creation built specifically for a British owner. Called the 458 MM Speciale, the supercar debuted at Fiorano, where Ferrari chief test driver Dario Benuzzi and the unnamed owner turned laps. The 458 MM Speciale is based on the 458 Speciale and uses its natural aspirated V8 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This one-off is painted a shade of white called Bianco Italia. The Italian flag colors are used for stripes that run down the center of the car. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Center, the car has blacked-out A-pillars that create a visor look, updates to the aluminum bodywork, and carbon-fiber composite bumpers. There is also a new side air scoop, new air intakes, and the radiators are mounted at different angles to aid cooling. There's a tasteful spoiler in back, and the speedster rolls on eye-catching wheels with a custom cluster pattern. Inside, the owner chose an upgraded audio system and Cioccolato leather with white stitching. The controls are accented with satin white rings. The limited-run Ferrari J50 is the coolest 488 Spider you can't buy
Tue, Dec 13 2016Ferrari is really good at celebrating things. In recognition of 50 years of selling cars in Japan, the company is building a few one-off versions of the 488 Spider, called the J50. That's our kind of anniversary present. Just 10 of these cars will be built, and each will be customized to the taste of its owner. The J50 gets a 681-horsepower version of the 488's 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 and of course wraps it all in different bodywork. The interior gets some custom attention as well, with different trim but most of the normal parts from the 488 Spider. It's not shown here, but there's a two-piece carbon-fiber targa roof that stows behind the seats and is supported by the matte carbon roll hoops. Design highlights include a polycarbonate bubble over the engine, a channel that wraps the front end and the sides, a chopped windshield and side glass, and a fantastic looking rear diffuser. The front end reminds us of some old GM aero concepts, but in the best way possible. If you want one, you're probably already too late. Ferrari likely offered these to its best Japanese customers before the car was even unveiled. You have 50 years to save up for the next one; better luck next time. Listen to the Ferrari 488 GTB for the first time
Mon, May 4 2015We've received the initial information, seen it on the floor of the Geneva Motor Show and even played around with the online configurator. The one thing we haven't seen (or heard) just yet is the new Ferrari 488 GTB actually firing up. (Well, that and driving the thing, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.) Fortunately some paparazzi with a video camera have caught the new mid-engined, eight-cylinder Ferrari undergoing testing – still under wraps despite having already been unveiled – in Maranello, entering and exiting the factory. And in case you were worried that the twin turbochargers would muffle the exhaust note, it seems the boys in red have invested some time making sure that wouldn't be an issue. Not only that, but we appear to have here our first glimpse at the convertible version, expected (in accordance with traditional Ferrari nomenclature) to be dubbed the 488 GTS – that S standing for Spider instead of the B for Berlinetta. Expect a similar folding hardtop mechanism to that found on the outgoing 458 Spider. Then again, the last time the GTB handle was used on this line was with the F355, where the GTB was the coupe, GTS was the partial convertible with the removable roof panel, and the full convertible was called the F355 Spider. (The more recent, twelve-cylinder 599 GTB Fiorano only led to the limited-edition 599 SA Aperta, as Ferrari doesn't typically offer twelve-cylinder roadsters in "regular" production.)
